Story

An ancient and legendary resting place of a long forgotten wizard has recently been discovered by your group. It is now within your power to search this mysterious, booby-trapped tomb and reap the benefits of its long lost treasures.

Prepare yourselves, for you have heard only very vague tales and rumors surrounding the history of your current target. All you could manage to piece together is that many who enter are never seen or heard from again.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 25, 2010 3:08 am

After a long and treacherous march through a very old and deadly swamp. Your group finally has made their way to its destination. In front of you across a large body of water you see a low, flat-topped hill, about 200 yards wide and 300 yards long, protruding from the earth. Ugly weeds, thorns, and briars grow upon the steep sides and bald top of the 60-foot-high mound. Black rocks crown the hilltop

Although pestered by insects and a small hive of stirges. Led astray and momentarily distracted by two Will-o-Wisp.

Your journey has finally come to a near end, at least for the night. Resting at the edge of the river lies an old boat that you guess was used by past visitors to explore the Tomb. It's very old, and not in good shape, however a little work and it is soon in fair condition. Good enough to sail yourselves across the river and get to the other side.

However, as you are just about ready to do so you notice movement in the water. Suddenly and without any further warning an enormous snake leaps out and lunges at Nephrys. Caught off guard, the snake opens its mouth and bears fangs during the strike. Fortunately your armor protects you from the fangs, but the maw itself is powerful and you find yourself unable to acquire freedom as the snakes jaw begins to crush you like a can. Coiling itself around you, it continues to slowly compact your armor with you inside, its fangs still unable to pierce the magical suit which is now your prison.

14 Damage on initial Strike, +5 Damage from being constricted on a successful grapple.

You're grappled.

Alright everyone, lets see some team work.

Everyone is within walking distance to attack.

We'll say that Nerphrys is 6 feet away from the boat. The snake is coiling around him, and he is within it's space.

The rest of you are 10 feet away from the snake.

Nephyrs was happily adventuring with his fellow group mates, when suddenly a snake appears! He managed to not be bitten by the snake, yet he was suddenly grabbed and constricted by the snake, struggling to get free of its hold. He called for help from his party members, as he made an attempt to break the grapple from the giant snake and step backwards away from the enemy.

*ACTION*
Break Grapple attempt, strength check I think. If succesful, he makes a 5-foot move backwards towards the boat and the rest of the party and quick draw great sword.

Strength + BAB = +12

((Not sure if an initiative roll should be made also))

Yeah, lets do that now, sorry. I realized I had forgotten to post that last night, but then forgot to post that I forgot to post it.

Initiative Roll from Everyone please.

Kumori was keeping quiet at the back of the group, watching their backs, in case an enemy were to attempt a sneak attack.
His efforts were proven useless when a large snake had sprung an attack further up in the group.
He reached to his belt, and thought for a moment about whether he should use a ranged weapon, or get up close to deal with the snake.

(OOC: I got checked by Insanity, so I was told I could join the group.)

As Znarftarf traveled with the group, he was excited to hear about a mysterious tomb with untold treasures and obstacles that await them. To Znarftarf, the thrill of the battle ran through his half-orcish veins. Sometimes, the hunt of the battle was better than the treasure itself. Znarftarf continuously loved to push his limits in his quest for glory and honor. But as they exited the swamp area, Znarftarf started to get bored of swatting away at insects.

"When does the real action begin?" snapped Znarftarf.

After a battle with some Will O Wisps, Znarftarf felt they were getting closer. Eventually they arrived at a boat nearby the tomb, but just as it seemed safe, a giant snake reached out and grabbed one of his comrades.

"Ah ha. A worthy challenge against my axe!" shouted Znarftarf as he armed himself.

There could of been many reasons for why Skeethpo would travel with a bunch of 'Mammals', and a 'Half-mammal', but for the fun of it was definitely not it. Leaving his desert homeland for the sake of testing his trap-finding and disabling skills was the extent dreams. He could of cared less for the treasure (unless they help him with his skills) and combat. Course the only reason he truly didn't care much for combat is that he isn't all that strong, so he relies on attacking when the enemy isn't aware of him.

Being born and raised in a desert, Skeethpo wasn't all that comfortable in the swamp with all of this water. And the insects were even more annoying! Then there were all of the stirges and Will-o-wisps. Just when the group finally seemed to be getting close to the infamous tomb filled with traps, the half-dragon gets attacked by a giant serpent. Looking disappointingly towards the 'half-mammal', he draws his knife that looks like its made of shiny black metal and gets ready to try and get a sneaky attack on the monster snake.

Farun greatly disliked this swamp. The mud sucked at his bare feet with every step, and who knew what slimy abominations lurked beneath the murky water. He disliked his current elven form even worse though. He was so frail. However, the mud sticking to his skin would be far worse if he was covered in fur.

Then the serpent came and latched onto one of the people he had come to regard as his friends. A low guttural growl issued from his throat. The predator would soon feel how it was like to be prey.

Turning her one good eye at the snake, Kenta places her hand on the hilt of her sword, watching its movements closely for a place to strike.

Atlamir followed the group, as they came upon the swamp, a sigh snuck from him. This wasn't a place he wanted to necissarily be. However, the possible loot he may find within' the walls was enough for him to not call it quits and turn back. Mercinary, sellsword, there were many names for a man such as Atlamir. He didn't care what you called him, as long as he got what he charged for such a deed.

However, his mind quickly went from possible cash, to a rather large snake, wrapped around one of the members of their group. He didn't actually hesitate, but he wasn't too terribly quick to come to the aid of his 'team-mate'. As far as he cared, he was another cut that he'd lose. He wasn't sure what they'd find on this adventure, but he was sure he would be rather helpful later on.

After examining the reactions of the others, he followed suit, as most would. Reaching for his blade, and pausing. Waiting.
