Heh, looked up Nirvana, and I liked almost everything on the page regardless of how far away the bands were.
I like the concept behind this. Seems like it'd be a fun thing to play around with at least.

I typed in NWA.. just to see what all would come up. And I think it's funny how Snoop, who played no part with the group ever was closer than Eazy-E, Dre and somehow the Beastie Boys were on there- though when I was looking up old hardcore bands from 80-85.. Beastie Boys didn't show up on the list ever...

The first thing I do is type in The Burning of Rome. Nothing. That's why I strongly prefer this section of that site. It actually gives damn good recs.

Yeah, that one works a lot better. It listed a bunch of bands that I both liked and were somewhat close to what I actually typed in. And it had some really good recommendations for stuff I hadn't heard before.

well i've found some interesting new bands... though it shoots pretty far off with some groups... I typed in korn and some how Johny Cash was among the many other names, i kid you not.
