Name: Roger
Age: 17
Roger is a boy who keeps to himself. His father beats him and his mother does the same. Turning emo has made him an outcast at his school. His life spirals downward as his parents continue to constantly beat him, and no one truely cares what happens to him anymore except his sister. Only his sister helps him through his problems. He loves the Mad Hatter and has made his own style of it. He has stopped cutting but he keeps around a knife just in case he gets the angry and sudden urge too. He doesn't trust new people and is always skipping school. He goes to the library to escape life by reading, and forgets about the pains of home while he reads the books that keep him sane. As for a love life, well he never really had one since he never showed up to school or even showed an intrest in a girl. But is that all about to change when someone new pops into his life...or will he just ignore this new girl that drives him as mad as a hatter...?...Her...
Name:Jinx L. Markez
Age:18
History:Since Jinx was born she was nothing but "bad luck" for her mother. When she was born, her father left the family alone, without a cent to their name. As she grew up her mother just despised her, and always caused fights over the stupidest of things. Jinx has a little sister, who gets treated like a princess in the family since she is the "perfect" child. Jinx is an extremely smart student, but she is mysterious and shy now that her mother has caused her to be so un-open with her feelings. She is now a senior in school, and works at a library in town that gives her little pay. She doesn't really mind, it just gives her something to do and a reason to stay away from home as long as possible. She also keeps her love life completely cut, because she trusts no one at this point for fear they would just leave her with a wounded heart. So now she tries to get through her life, alone and without showing any of her emotions. But will someone enter her life that will cause her to lose every little bit of control of those feelings...or will it just cause another wound in her already tattered heart...?

Roger winced at the new bruises that his father left him. Sighing he made his way to the Library. The only place that was like a home to him. Walkingin he waved at the Librarien and slightly smiled at her.

Jinx once again left the house to escape the yelling of her mother, and hoped that work would calm her down before she lost it and punched another wall. She looked down at her pale knuckles, and noted the many cuts and marks on her knuckles from her last battle the wall in her bedroom. "That was number fifteen I believe" she thought to herself silently as she walked downtown to where the small library was located. She hated her mother with a passion, and slightly envied her sister who got all the praise and attention a person could ever ask for from a mother. "I don't see why she get's all the praise when I do so much better in school and other things" she said, rage filling her voice as she finally reached the library. "Hopefully being here will calm me down like it usually does, I mean I don't want to get into trouble for punching another wall here." After taking a few deep breaths she walked inside the building, and checked in walking behind the counter in hopes that it would be a very slow day.
The building was small, and had an old gothic kind of touch to it when you would actually walk inside. The books may have been old, but she loved reading them over and over again when work was extremely slow. "Even though I've only been working here a week" she muttered to herself as she started checking books in that were sitting in a pile on the counter. The sweet old lady that ran the place had left her an apple on the counter, and Jinx gave a faint smile as she looked over towards the older woman. "Good afternoon, thank you for the apple Ms" she said in almost a whisper, not noticing the boy that had come into the library. She took off her hat, her sandy blonde locks shaking from from her head as she hid her knuckles with her sleeves and started to work. "Let's just hope today is slow, and that nothing bad comes my way since I already hate my life as it is" she thought to herself with a sigh as she continued checking books in.

Roger looked at the girl and noticed that she was covering her hand. Stupid everyone's going to notice that you hurt your hand. Roger thought as he walked to the horror section of the books. Looking at each title he felt his phone go off. Taking it out of his pocket he saw that it was his dad. Rejecting the call he turned his phone off and put it back in his pocket. Sighing he pushed up his sleve and looked around. Seeing no one he took out his knive and opened it. Here goes nothing. Sorry sis. Roger thought as he closed his eyes and lowered the knive to his skin

Jinx had started putting the books back onto the shelves, and walked into the horror section. When she noticed a boy about to cut himself she dropped the books and ran over to him. "You idiot what the hell do you think your doing" she said in a stern whisper as she grabbed the knife by the blade in her hand, cutting herself deeply by accident. She dropped the blade onto the ground, blood dripped all down her arm covering her already banged up knuckles in a steady crimson flow. She felt one or two tears form, but for the most part couldn't really feel the pain anymore. "Look at what you did what the hell were you thinking" she hissed as she held her bleeding hand to her chest, causing her white shirt to become all bloody. She didn't really know why she just stopped this kid from cutting himself, but she wanted to hit him for trying while she was working and already in a bad mood.

Roger glared at the girl. " Who the hell are you stopping me.? You dont know me." Noticing her hand was bleeding he sigh. " Come here now" Roger said in a stern voice. He took out a roll of medical bandges that he kept on him just in case he felt like cutting. I said come here or do you want to bleed to death?" Roger said his voice rising as he got angry. This was not his day. He quickly pulled down his sleve to cover up the scares and bruises that covered his body.

Jinx just stared at him as he yelled at her, it not affecting her in the least since she was so used to being yelled at. When he spoke of bandaging her hand she stared at him in disbelief. "Really, two seconds ago you were yelling because I stopped you from being an idiot" she hissed as she ripped her shirt into a strand of cloth and wrapped it around her hand. "And I don't need help from someone who's so selfish they would yell because someone helped them" she said angrily as her temper started rising. She was supposed to be relaxing, and here she was now ready to punch other wall just to release the slightest bit of anger she had already built up. "I don't care who you think you are alright I didn't have to stop you from being so stupid while your in a library" she said as she turned around and started picking up the books she had dropped, trails of crimson still trickling down her arm as she picked things up.
"As for not knowing you, well guess what buttercup you don't know me either so shut your mouth and stop acting like you know everything about pain and misery" she finally said in almost a scream, her voice just low enough that they wouldn't be heard by anybody else. She was angry that in one shot this boy had ruined her entire feeling of peace and calmness, and wanted to hit him instead of the wall. She had picked up every last book but one, leaning down she saw that the title was Alice in Wonderland, her favorite book in the entire library. She placed it on top of the stack, not caring that her blood was getting all over her and on the floor of the library. She was too upset to care at the point, and she picked up the knife and started leaving the room mumbling under her breath. "Stupid kid...think he knows everything.....god I could just..." was all that could be heard as she turned the corner.

Roger ran after Jinx and grabed her arm. " And what do you know about pain? Do you know the pain of getting abused? The pain of no one wanting you? The pain of your parents just treating you like trash? Guess what Princess I do know alot about pain. And frankly girly I dont like being Jugded." Roger said. He took off his shrit and showed Jinx all the bruises new and old on his body. " You see this Princess This is the type of hell i go through every single day of my life." Roger then put his shirt back on and took the Alice In Wonderland book.

Jinx was royally pissed at this point, and she now threw the pile of books onto the ground as she cornered him. "You look here you little pest, call me princess again and I'll show you how many bruises I'll leave" she said, her anger finally boiling over as he grabbed her and yelled at her. "You think your unloved, try having a mother who hates you and tells you to die every day before you leave for school" she said as she looked right into his eyes, her blue ones turning ice cold as she kept him cornered, "try having your father leave the family with nothing just because you were born!" Her cheeks were flushed a bloody crimson from all the anger, and she punched the wall causing blood to splatter across her own face. "You think your the only one with pain and problems buttercup" she said getting into his face now, the blood running down her cheeks as she glared at him. "Well your wrong, so learn your place before you judge other people when they just try helping" she said, once again almost screaming but somehow keeping her voice down.
When he took the book from the pile she was fed up with this kid, and reached for the book only causing her arm to splatter more blood around. "Give that back you creep, that belongs to the library" she said, growling angrily as she continued to reach for the book she cherished most. "You act like you know everything, when you know nothing more than what you as a person experienced" she nearly screamed as she grabbed for the book once more, the bruises and slices on her skin showing now that her sleeves were sliding up her arms. "I don't care who you think you are, give me back the damn book and leave me alone" she said, dropping her arms glaring at him with her icy eyes. She stood there, breathing heavily from the anger that bubbled through her body as hot tears rolled down her cheeks and mixed with the blood. She didn't care if he saw the cuts and marks all over her body, she didn't care if he did anything to her at this point, all she knew was that her day was now completely ruined.

Roger Stared at the girl. Noticing the cuts and marks on her arms he tried to touch them. Watching her punch the wall and yell at him made him Cowar in fear. Oh no its dad hes here why is he here? Roger though as he crouched to the ground the book on the floor." No Stop dad dont stop it Dad stop it. Help me dad dont touch me." Roger said over and over again. Tears sliding down his face.

Jinx had finally finished yelling, and when she stopped the entire world spun around her as if she were spinning in circles. She stumbled around, holding her bloody hand against her head as she toppled over onto the ground. No one knew she was really anemic, and she didn't have pills to take so the stress she caused herself made her do this more than once a day. All she could hear was the boy mumbling something about his father, but was too dizzy to make out the other words he was saying. Her anger was now entirely gone, and she felt empty and cold on the inside as she watched the world spin around her. Blood continued to flow down her arms now, the cloth she had used to tie it lying on the floor on the other side of the room near the tossed books. Memories flashed through her mind, ones of her mother and father fighting the day he left the family. She felt the hot tears roll down her cheeks, causing them to become even more blood stained as she felt her chest heave from lack of breath. Her eyes began to flutter closed as she tried to grip for the shelves, or something to grab and hold her up.

Roger opened his eyes to see the girl try and grab something to balence herself. Getting up he took her bloody hand and pulled her to him. I told you that you were going to bleed to death of you didnt let me help. Roger thought as he picked Jinx up bridel style. Carrying her to one of the study rooms he gently put her down to sit in one of the chairs.

Jinx felt herself being lifted into the air suddenly, then sat back down in a different room. "Wh-what happened" she murmered softly, nearly fainting at the sight of herself covered in her blood. Her thoughts were foggy so she didn't really remember it was her own blood, or that her hand was bleeding heavily still. She felt like something was on her chest, like it was so heavy she couldn't breathe. "Please.....no...no-not this again" she said through shakey breaths as she tried to grope for something to cling to. "Please.....mommy....I-I'm sorry...." she said as she started crying, memories of her mother trying to kill her as a child on her birthday. She was afraid right now, her entire body shaking violently as she lost blood and she cried. "I pro-promise I'll be better mommy.....p-please" she said through pouting lips, her eyes now a pale blue color that seemed almost white. She looked at the boy for help, not feeling anymore anger or hate towards him. She just wanted help, she just wanted someone who would understand her for once and just help her instead of hate her. "Bl-blood mother....look mommy.....the pretty colors" she murmered as she closed her eyes, tears slipping down her cheeks turning crimson with her blood.

Roger bandged Jinx's hand. Seeing the tears he wiped them away. He felt really bad for yelling at her but she had asked for it. Holding her close he rocked her back and forther saying comforting nothings in her ear. Roger was used to it. When his parents fougth he would do the same to his sister until she was asleep. He took out a white hankerchif and wiped off all the blood from Jinx's face.

Jinx calmed down after about fifteen mintues, and when she looked up she noticed the boy cradling her like a small infant. "Wh-what happened" she asked him softly, her eyes still extremely pale and frightened. "Where am I, and wh-why are you holding me" she asked, her voice soft and melodic like an angel had touched her voice before birth. "I-I'm really sorry I just h-hate that so much" she said, more to herself than to him since she knew what it was like to cut. She looked at her outfit, and sighed at how bloody she had gotten it from the slice in her hand. "I don't suppose you think I could pull this off as tye-dye do you" she asked somewhat jokingly, hoping he wouldn't yell at her for the moment since she couldn't handle much more. She had started her day off with yelling, and suddenly now she was being yelled at while she was at work. "And for what" she thought as she let out a soft sigh, her sleeves now up to her shoulders causing ever cut and bruise to be shown to him in the open. "And just so I could stop this kid from cutting himself, a kid I don't even know" she thought, looking up at him, not noticing the soft pink blush that crept onto her face as she felt her hand throb in pain.
