I thought it was so funny. By the end I was afraid to laugh because I really had to pee and I was afraid I was going to pee my pants! Great jobs by Lane and Broderick, Oscar worthy film. See it! Espicially if your a fan of the show!

I thought it was ok. I mean, I could tell the jokes were funny and all, but it just kind of made you wonder about how hilarious it must have been onstage. Also, I've seen the original movie a couple of times, and nothing can compare to Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. Still, it was cute, and the songs were good. Twisted, but good. And "Keep It Gay" was hilarious.

It was nothing flashy like PotO or RENT, but it didn't need the fancy-shmancy anything. The humor made up for anything wrong. Though I wwasn't happy about them cutting a number and then cutting a part out of another. But, that's how it goes. RENT lost musical numbers.

Uma Thurman was at odds with her Swedish accent and she ended up with a deep voice sometimes, but it was amusing to see that tall woman act the way she did. XP

I think some of the jokes in order to get you would have had to have had at least a little experience in the theater. Through some of the movie I was like "...I know these people..."
I love the comment Lane makes about actors " Actors arent human! You ever eat with one?"

I saw it last night in my little suburban town with 4 ther people I know and an elderly couple in the back. They left when they started talking about erections, which was good because they probably wouldn't have liked "Along Came Bialy." It was absolutely hilarious, though Uma was flat during almost all of her songs. I was suprised by Will Ferrel, since he isn't that great of an actor, yet I actually liked him in this movie. Any Mel Brooks fan should see this movie and stay past the credits if you want to see his on screen cameo (his other camoes include a pidgeon and a cat).

I liked how they filmed it with a stage feel. I think that's what I just didn't connect well with in Rent: the whole realistic filming...with this is it just worked a whole lot better, like it did with Chicago. *shrug* And I agree (grudgingly) with you about Will Ferrel. I detest him under all circumstances, and yet I had to admit he stole a giggle from me now and then...

Heehee, or the "Good Luck" scene...I so flashed back to the opening night of my first show! I went through the same baptism by fire when I said the dreaded line. whee

Loved it! I'm was so glad they kept most of the originals, but...

Uma? She looks good, but can't hold a Swedish accent to well, and she was skay on her singing...

And I love Will Ferrel (before he left SNL), and he was funny...but he didn't fit the role as well as the original actor. He's not...well...German enough I guess? I don't know... xp

I felt like it was too long. I don't know why. I mean it was funny but not as funny as I thought it would be. oh well.

I thought it was hilarious.

Although, I do wish I could've seen the Broadway version.

That's actually how I first heard about it, I have a friend who's just as obsessed with Broadway as I am (More so, maybe). And, she goes to New York all the time to see Broadway shows, so that's how I hear about stuff like that.

Anyway, she saw Producers when she was in New York last (Or, maybe the time before, because I remember her mentioning something about seeing Avenue Q last time, ah well).

Anyway, I, of course got the original Broadway cast recording. And like, I noticed some of the songs were changed/taken out.

Just like RENT, how disappointing. ;_;

They took out some of my favorite songs, but I loved the movie anyway.

My friend and I sing Betrayed every day at least once.

Unattractive? Psh. He went from Mr. Psycho for Marcia Cross to Mr. Gay Man! Go Roger Bart!

I'm going to see it on Friday, and I've been listening to the OCR in my car since yesterday (this is a lot, I have a long commute to work).
So then, which songs did they cut out?
