If this is in the wrong area, I apologize now.

So I was talking to a friend of mine the other day and the topic turned to Harry Potter, because I seem to always turn the topic to Harry Potter. Some Twitard over heard and said that Harry Potter and it's fans were just all Twilight bashers and that it needed to disappear. She added in a few choice cusses, so I retaliated by saying that Twilight started the whole battle with Harry Potter and that Twilight fans were just upset because Harry Potter was a better series and fan base all around.

It was only later that I thought about it... did Twilight fans start the war, or was it the Harry Potter fans who originally attacked?

I'm pretty sure it was the Twilight fans.

Although it could be HP fans felt threatened and saw many turning to Twifail.

So it could have been both at the same time really.

Actually it was the regular people who just hate twilight and are called HP fangirls/boys because of it...just like people who don't want one console are called (insert console brand here) fanboys/girls.

I am pretty sure that the Twilight fans started it just by comparing their crappy fandom to Harry Potter in the first place.

I think the media started it. HP is a big hit, Twiight became a big hit. Press will compare sales between the two when they notice them and then consumers start the battle.

I think Planetary is right. I saw an article in Time calling her "the new JK Rowling". (Right here)

Die hard HP fans got into a fit and tried to combat the comparison, then Twilight fan girls/boys attacked HP fans for their views.
