To put it lightly, the original N64 Perfect Dark (And XBLA Port) wasn't known for it's voice acting.

That is, the voice acting is hilarious at times.

What are some of your guys' favorite cheesy/funny-sounding lines?

The President (Air Force One - Anti-terrorism): "You can't make accusations like that without evidence!... I ASHOOM you have some?"

And the way Trent talks cracks me up every time. It kind of sounded like one of the developers on the game was just talking in a nasally voice instead of hiring a separate voice actor. xD

Don't get me wrong, I love the game to death. It's among my 3 top favorite games of all time (Second to the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past).

Also, I'm new to the guild. razz I was excited to see that the invite was from a Perfect Dark guild rather than the usual "Gaia elite" crap people try to get me in but I decline.

And this is a bit off-topic, but I made this thread a couple days ago, and was shocked at the negative reaction towards Perfect Dark. But the funny thing is, the only legit problem the haters had with it was the controls. o_o

Edit: I don't know where else to post this (suggestions sticky might be nice) but I noticed in the achievements sticky, "Versatile(10 G)" was listed that you didn't know how to get it. All you have to do is play (and win?) a game in each mode of the combat simulator (Capture the case, etc.)

Also, for the kills with the secondary function, and the laptop gun one, I found it easy to just play Hold the Briefcase and stake out one room. The simulants will come directly to you constantly. I personally used the AR34's secondary "look down scope" for the secondary kills, but the sentry turret might count for that too. And if you want to make it even easier, turn on "one shot kills" if you have that unlocked by beating enough challenges.

Welcome to the guild mate! Hope you have fun and such.

You could have posted the achievement help in the post for it if you wanted, but it's no real biggie. And thanks for the help w/ the achievements! I'll be sure to update the thread later. (Attack of the Show is going to be on in a few minutes, so I don't really want to get caught up w/ work right before that starts)

As for my favorite cheesy line, it might have to be "You got me...aaaggggg". But favorite line overall has to be something that Jonathan said when you first meet up with him. (will type it up later. Attack of the Show is just too good to miss! xp )

Thank you! biggrin

I tried to post it there, but it didn't let me. I thought it was a permission error (locked thread) but I think Gaia was just glitching. Because it gave me an error when I edited the post, too. sweatdrop

xD That's another good one.

Another one is when you walk into that room with the cheats computer, and the guy talks in an extremely nerdy voice. "Welcome to HHHACKer central"

Grimshaw really gets to me because of that. *laughs*

And I don't get how when you're doing the gadget tutorial for the disguise he doesn't recognize that it's you. (you just slap on a blue business suit! At that point in the game Joanna has been working there for three years so I don't see how he wouldn't recognize her.)

And since the dishes are done and AotS is over, my favorite exchange is this:

Jonathan: Agent Dark over here!
Joanna: There you are I was beginning to wonder if-
[Jonathan shoots the guard Joanna was talking to]
Jonathan: If what?
Joanna: If you'd been discovered yet, and frankly if this is how you work, I'm amazed to see you've lasted longer than five minutes!
Jonathan: I was tiding up one of your loose ends!
Joanna: MY loose ends?
Jonathan: I'm sorry I didn't realize you wanted him to shoot you, but I can call in some more guards if you like!

(something like that.)

EDIT: Added your hints/tips/suggestions/other to the Achievement sticky.

These should quickly remind you:

(or you could just play through the XBLA remake, it uses the same audio files.)

And welcome to the guild. 3nodding

That sucks. My younger brother just got his damn games back so the 360 might as well be dead for me. (seeing as I won't be able to play it for a long time, not to mention no more sleeping in late [boy screams at it all hours of the day], or going to be early.)

on the second mission I always sneek up on the two datadyne guard and scientist testing the K7 Aveanger, here I would take out a rocket luancher(youll have to go to HHacker central) point to the scientes, and fire, after that its just an OH DUH! moment. I still luagh every time XD.

I'm amazed no one's mentioned the handful of Elvis' squeaky one-liners yet. Also, the Maian "language" was downright hilarious when I first heard it on the Attack Ship level.

I don't think I remember their 'language', unless it was a bunch of high pitched squeals & giggles. If it is, then yeah, I remember it.

Why the heck did they decide to make the skedar, which are alien snakes, sound like jaguars? When i was playing battle shrine I thought it was more of a big cat sanctuary.
