Thealia was relieved to be given a day off from pup-sitting that annoying little brat Glacier. While she was pleased that the pup had learned his place so quickly among the few pack members it still bothered her that Penthesilea had taken in a useless male pup. What good would he do once he grew? The pack would waste time and effort caring for him and chances are he would just walk away once he grew older. They should be tending to female pups, they were the future of this pack. A future that Thealia would a hand in shaping. The green wolf looking forward to the day when the pack had pups once more to train into strong and smart warrior who didn't need a male to provide for them.
Stopping at a stream to slack her thirst Thealia thought about what to do with herself today. Perhaps a bit of hunting was in order - even if that meant feeding Glacier, the pack did need to eat to remain strong. Turning she padded off in search of prey, head held low in a tracking position alert to everything around her.

Lucanos had been wandering all day, and now that the sun was high in the sky (as far as he could tell under the dense cover of trees), his stomach was starting to rumble in protest. He sighed, knowing that it was tough to hunt in the daytime, and especially alone. If only he had a pack to run with! But many of the wolves he had met so far had not struck a fancy in his heart, and his search for strong and steadfast souls like his had remained uneventful. Of course, there was still time--if he didn't die of starvation first. But he was confident of his hunting skills, and had not come up short so far.
His ears perked as the softest patter came from off to his right. He also could hear a stream flowing in that direction; perhaps there was a small fowl, or a larger prey, grazing at the water side? He could only hope, for he could not yet smell the hidden creature. He hunched lower and continued, being sure to keep as quiet as he could, and keeping his sensitive ears open for movement.

It didn't take long before Thealia was aware of the presence of another wolf. Scenting the air she shuddered in disgust - it was a male. Well perhaps he could prove to be a good test of her fighting abilities should he think to challenge her. Thealia hadn't had a good fight since the war ended in her pack several months ago. Sure she had had mock battles with Penthesilea and a few others recently, but nothing was more thrilling that a real fight. Or - she paused in mid step - perhaps this male could be useful in another way.
Maw turned up in a devious smile for a few moments before she set her face neutral and set off to search out his male. Sniffing the air again Thealia adjusted her course, he wasn't far off now. In fact, as she came around a tree she caught sight of him just ahead. Ah, so he was heading towards the stream, excellent. Continuing to pad forward in a quick but quiet pace Thealia stalked her prey, though her body was held up straight in a mode more suitable for travel than stalking.
