Merry meet,
I was just wondering if there are any Hellenic pagans out there. with Athena as favored deity I was wondering if there was anyone else who worked with the Greek pantheon, or if there is anything someone would like to say about it,
Thanks, and Athena bless

Yes, My deity is Pan. This has been for some time. I tried other deitys but none ever worked. Even the Irish ones and I am Irish.

Most of them originate from Hellenism, though I belive that particular pantheon is dianic

On another note I just missed quinquatria, The roman festival of minerva, and am still disappointed has anyone else found some of the old holidays to the gods? or looked into this, I found the closeness of ostra and quinquatria astounding

I personally worship Athena as well as Hermes. I feel drawn to both of them for the things and ideologies that they represent. I like Diana/Artemis, but I really don't think I can relate to that aspect of Goddess. No matter how I tried to incorporate Artemis/Diana, Athena always felt more natural to follow to me. Hermes has always stuck with me though, although I like to read myths about Pan a lot. Pan and Apollo's myths are my favorite.

I also found (when I first started practicing Wicca) the similarities to other religions' holidays very striking. Especially Christianity. I guess it shocked me because my aunt is very religious in the christian sense and has told me that Christianity's holidays have nothing to do with 'those satanic pagan holidays'. lol. I find it funny now.
Although I have not looked into ancient holidays too much. That's something I may have to do sometime soon. =3

I'm a Hellenic Polytheist. I'm a follower of Apollon and Hermes. Hermes was always there, and Apollon came a little more recently. I also follow Artemis and Aprhodite, but I'm still trying to build a bond with them. I do try to honor the Nymphs, Zeus and Hera, and the heroes as well.

I've considered looking into this system in more detail, since a large facet of my path derives from Greek culture, but its hard because the old gods feel very ... distant to me compared to the land/nature spirits I work with in my own backyard. A respectful bow to those of you who do honor these old gods. biggrin

I follow four deities, though they are somewhat mirrors of each other to a degree though they come from different Pantheons:
Hellenic: Persephone and Hades
Kemetic: Bast and Anubis

for those who are trying to bond with Artemis, and the one looking for a bridge between gods and nature spirits, your in luck.
I have been "clearing out" (removing litter and putting fallen branches out of a path) a forest and I feel somehow more in-tune with her there. She is the goddess of the forest and she tends and protects the animals and spirits that live there. So if you want to try a more hands-on approach at bonding try going in a forest with a trash bag (and gloves) and try to clean it a little. The forest will thank you.
But just a suggestion mrgreen

I follow Artemis. Like you said oceantail, it is very easy to bond with her in the forest. I also enjoy spending time with her when the moon is out smile

Hey Oceantail, that's actually a great idea! I went to a Cherry Blossom festival yesterday held at the park I live nearby. I found this path with pretty foliage and such, and there is a river that runs along it. I think I'll be going there for sacred space dedicated to Artemis from now on. Especially since the weather is getting nicer, too!

NJ has a LOT of parks so there's no way I can miss out! (That's why we're called the Garden State, LOL even if we are also very urban ;] )

I've always felt a strong connection with Poseidon, personally, but in December I began to feel a sudden connection with Aphrodite.
Quite odd, since in the end of that month, I met the young man who became my boyfriend..

I also have always felt a curiosity towards Persephone and Hades, but not quite a connection.

I do pray to other Greek Gods and Goddesses on occasion, but seeing as I'm not quite sure about my path, and I don't know nearly as much as I'd like to, I don't do much religious-wise.
I will this summer, when I have time to study. I've been looking at theoi.com, something like that.
