Margret was at a little beach restaurant with her father today. They were out to enjoy the weather and see the sights, namely a very large lighthouse in this area (Maggie'd been very curious about it). So here they were, sitting and having sodas, discussing going to look at the place.
The little freckled bird child was quite pleased with this "beach" place her dad had brought her to. The air smelled nice, and the wind felt good against her feathers. The sand was scratchy against her toes and the water was pretty to watch. A nice place all around, even for having just been there for a few hours.

Izzy had wanted to eat out today. It was a rare treat to go out for lunch when her daddy made such good food at home. Today they were going to her favorite place on the beach, because they had cream soda and cheesy fries. They headed out of the little house beside the lighthouse, heading up the nearby boardwalk. The chiton girl did a little skip and pointed when she saw there was a girl around her age already there. Maybe she'd make a new friend today!

Maggie looked up from her drink, noticing someone pointing at her. Oh hey! That girl was her age and came from near the lighthouse - maybe she knew about it! Immediately, the toddler stood up and went to run down the beach to say hi but Vance put a hand on her shoulder.
"Leave the glass." he said, taking it from her hands. Otherwise it'd be stealing.
The girl nodded before darting down to see this other kid. "Heya!"

"Hi!" Izzy called. At least she hadn't had to 'make the first move' like so many other times. A lot of kids weren't as friendly as her.
"I'm Izzy! This is my beach! Who're you?!" She was all happy and chipper, of course.

"Wow, yours?" Maggie said, flicking her tail, "Cools!"
"I's Maggie. We came to see the lighthouse. You came from nears it - have you been inside?" the bird asked with wide eyes.

Henri rolled his eyes and smiled. Izzy liked to tell people it was her beach, but in reality they only owned a little patch of the shore off of the hill their home was on. It didn't matter, he guessed. Let little kids have their big ideals.
"Uh-huh!" Izzy chirped, "Daddy works the lighthouse so the ships don't crash on the rocks. We go inside when there's storms an' stuff!"

"Wow!" Maggie grinned, "That's so cool! Can we go inside to see?" Because after all, if this was Izzy's beach and Izzy's lighthouse, they could go inside whenever they wanted, right?

Izzy looked up to Daddy. After all, it was his lighthouse in reality. The big grumpy guy who visited sometimes said it was his 'responsibility'. That made it his, like Izzy's goldfish.
"Is that your daddy up there?" Henri asked, likely already knowing the answer, unless the man the child had been sitting with was a kidnapper, "You should ask him. Then maybe we can."

Maggie's eyes widened. "Can Daddy come too?" she asked with a big smile. After all, she didn't want to go into the strange new place without him. "He wants to see it too." she seemed very assured of this.

"Sure," Henri shrugged, "You just have to go make sure, okay?" Lots of kids seemed to trust him, and more than once he'd been looked-at like some sort of ***** kidnapper. He guessed his quasi-hermit lifestyle didn't help, either.
"I'll come too!" Izzy said, taking Margret's hand and starting up the rest of the walk and the steps toward her table.

Vance smiled as the pair walked up to him. "Hello there." he greeted Izzy with a smile.
"Daddy, this is Izzy - it's her beach and her Daddy owns the lighthouse. Can we all go inside it?" Maggie asked in a rush with a grin.
The blonde blinked at his daughter but sighed and nodded, "Yes, Margret, we can. Just after you have your lunch. We're still waiting on it, remember? And your friend hasn't even gotten her food yet."

Henri walked after the girls, hands in his pockets. He was glad he had chosen to wear a shirt today.
"Sorry about that. She's my little social butterfly," he sighed, "Izzy, come over here. We can have lunch, and then we can show Margret the lighthouse."
Izzy's face sank. It was obvious what she was thinking. She wanted to have lunch with her new friend.

"You guys can sit with us!" Maggie piped up with a big smile before looking at her father again, "Can't they Daddy?"
It was a table for four - since the ones outside were all like that - and Vance couldn't really say no. Putting his head in his hand he nodded and sighed a bit before taking a drink. He was going to have to discipline her at some point for all of this.

"We don't want to be a bother," Henri said, noting the man's look. He sat down at the nearest table, though, and pulled a chair out for Izzy, who pouted. He gave her The Look, though, and she relented, going to sit beside him. She and Margret were at least close enough to touch.

"You're not a bother. Margret just needs to do a bit less of this business about deciding things for other people." he said softly and smiled, taking another sip of his drink and reaching out to pat her head.
Maggie pouted and scratched one of her feet against the floor. "Sorry Daddy." she said quietly before turning and grinning at Izzy to chatter at her more.
After lunch, Maggie was up and bouncy again. "Is the lighthouse as tall inside?"
