Today Mama had taken Emery to a bookstore since she seemed to like to read her tome so much. The toddler's personal big black book was very special to her (though anyone who looked in it would swear it was blank) and she was quite protective of it, but other books might be "educational" to her.
So here she was, her tome in a satchel at her side, looking through children's novels to see if there was anything good. Well, good was a relative term, particularly where the emotionless toddler was concerned. She was seeing if she could learn anything from them.

Eve walked with Lila to a bookstore, knowing the little girl would insist on getting more books that weren't completely a child's book. Eve wanted to have some books that had some plot to them since her mother had been reading Brothers Grimm through the phone on her jobs and when she was home, putting Eve to bed.

Emery was just walking out of one section of books when she ended up bumping into the newly arrived Eve.
"Oh. Hello. You're very patchy." she stated, a very obvious observation, but a true one. "Are you all right?"

Eve, being used to her appearance being patched together, nodded, "Yeah, I'm all right. My mommy says I'm a ragdoll." The girl looked at the other girl, "I'm Eve. Are there any books with plots in this section?"

"Rags? You're dressed very nicely." Emery inquired, misunderstanding the term ragdoll.
After a moment, the toddler tried to figure out what Eve meant, "Plots? What's a plot? Those books just have stories. Not what I wanted."

"My mommy doesn't leave me in rags, so I'm not sure what she means by it," Eve didn't really understand what her mother meant by ragdoll, but it wasn't an insult.
"Anything that happens in the stories. Like the stories my mommy reads to me sometimes," Eve was curious about the girl. Then again, she was always curious about things and people around. "Brothers Grim."

"That's a strange thing to call you then." Emery said with a nod.
"Oh. Yes. There were some of those. And Grimms too." the tot agreed, taking her over to where she'd seen a big book called a Grimorie - that said Grim, right? It must be what the girl meant.

"I don't mind," Eve smiled lightly.
"They have dark fairytales then?" Eve loved fairytales like that and though her nanny didn't agree.
Eve blinked as she remembered her manners. "What's your name?"

"I dunno. I didn't see any fairies when I looked in it - dark or otherwise. There were lotsa curse words though." Emery said with a nod - dear child, the words to a curse are not curse words.
"I am Emery." she said with an assured nod and an attempt at a smile - it didn't work, her face quickly went back to it's usual blank stare and her voice kept it's humble monotone.

"It's pleasant to meet you, Emery," Eve noticed the attempt at a smile and thought the girl was being friendly.
"I'm sure there are some fairytales around here. My mommy doesn't let me say curse words, only adults can do that," Eve replied and was in the mood to look at the book.
Lila watched from a cookbook section, wanting to keep an eye on the little girl.

"It is pleasant to meet you too." Emery agreed, almost pleased that someone else talked as strangely as she did.
"Oh. They were like normal words. They just made bad things happen." Emery commented with a glance at another book. This entire section seemed to be about witchcraft and black magic, whereas the one behind her had had books about vampire love stories.
"This book is like mine but smaller." Emery said, indicating a black leather bumpy book that was much like her tome only not as big or old, and much fancier.

"Really, what kind of book is yours?" Eve was curious and glanced at the book that the girl seemed to compare to her own.
"My mommy told me about those words and she said never to say them anyway," Eve had been afraid of the look in her mother's eyes when Ivy had warned her about words that went with magic.

Emery pulled out the large black tome from her bag. "It's a bit book, it shows stories." she said, opening it up to show Eve. However, it appeared all the pages were blank in this old thing. "Lots and lots of people."

"Can you only read it?" Eve asked as she couldn't see any words on the pages. She guessed that Emery could only read it since the ragdoll couldn't see anything. "It seems to be a sturdy book and looks heavy."

"I can read other things." the tot said blinking, misinterpreting the question. "No one else seems to see the words in this. That's weird." she said putting it back in her bag. "It is heavy, that's why Mommy got me a bag."
