Tizzy was cheerily seated in her classroom with all sorts of things laid out for her new student. There were two boxes of plates on either side of her - one set gimmicked to stay on poles better and the other set plain. She also had a few poles in front of her and a player with one particular song prepared on it.
Today she was to have a very classy gluttony boy coming to learn from her and the android wanted him to learn something unconventional. That and she was "bored", so to speak, of her usual subjects to teach students.

Fitzroy had been slightly put out to know that he wasn't going to have another Skills class with Fifth; he had greatly enjoyed DDR with the old gold Eilian. However, he was careful not to let of that disappointment show on his face as he knocked on the door of his new classroom and peeked his head around.
"Hello? Fitzroy Cathaldus, reporting for a skills class," he said as he cautiously entered the room, smiling once he saw his teacher. She certainly looked... unconventional, but then again, who wasn't unconventional around here? He cocked his head to the side when he saw the plates and poles. "What are those for?" he asked politely.

Tizzy smiled politely and nodded a bit. "I'm Tizzy. Good to meet you." she stated before looking over at the poles. "Those are for your lesson. I'll be teaching you to spin plates."

Fitzroy tipped his hat politely to his teacher, looking over at the odd plates with a slightly confused expression on his face. "Spinning plates? What does that mean? Like, on their side or someething?"

"It means doing this." she said, taking up a pole and carefully balancing a plate upon it before beginning to spin it on one of her fingers. True, she had a natural advantage over him - she had mechanical precision on her side, but she had still practiced even after she'd installed a program to make her properly spin them.
"Generally more than one is done at once. It's a show trick."

Fitzroy watched in open amazement at the feat his teacher performed, mouth agape as he watched the plate balance. "Woah... That's awesome!!" With childish enthusiasm, he darted forward and grabbed a plate and a pole, holding them tightly in his hands and looking at Tizzy with eager eyes. "Okay, so what should I do first?"

Tizzy leaned over to glance at the back of his plate. "Put that one back for now. We'll be practicing with the training ones so you get the idea of the motion." she explained, picking up one of the specially made plates to give to him.
"these go on the sticks and there's a special hole for the stick to go in so the plate won't fall off as much as if it were regularly balancing. That'll get you used to holding it and the weight."

Fitzroy nodded enthusiastically and set the plate back down, looking directly back at Tizzy for his next instructions. It was silly that learning such a random and fairly useless skill excited that boy so much, but it was just that kind of thing he would enjoy. It went along with his boxing and swing dancing and otherwise being pointlessly uber-retro.
He grabbed the plate as soon as it was offered, examining the mentioned hole before snatching a pole and grinning at Tizzy. "Okay, Teach! So whaddya recommend I do first? Should I just give it a whirl?" he asked, giggling at the bad pun.

Tizzy shrugged lightly, "Go right ahead. They aren't too easily broken so you have a chance to get a feel for the weight and shape playing around for a time. I will stop you before you get too carried away to give correction where it is needed." the female informed him, leaning back so the spawn could have his fun.

"Alright, gotcha!" Fitzroy said happily when he was told that he was allowed to just go for it. His tongue poked out of his mouth very carefully as he focused, slipping the pole into the hole on the bottom of the plate. Not knowing what else to do, he brought the plate up and gave it a rather strong push with his hand, eyes widening as it began to wobble. The spawn leaned and moved all around the room as he tried to keep the plate upright. "Aahh, aah, aahshit, s**t, s**t, no, no-!!"
He winced as the plate clattered back to earth, smiling sheepishly at Tizzy as he picked it back up. "Wow, that was pretty bad, huh?"

"It was acceptable for not knowing how to begin. You have practice plates for just this purpose." she instructed the boy, carefully moving a hand to help him situate the plate once more.
"Get used to moving it around with one hand and balancing the plate before you begin to spin. Once you have mastered your weight and balance you may start to add more to it."
