The purple haired teen skipped into the gym, happy as could be in her shorts and t-shirt. This was a bit different from the usual routine; usually Mom sent her out to deliver a letter summoning someone to the caves. But, instead, Mom was having her deliver the news personally. That must mean she was getting really grown up! She couldn't wait to inform the soon-to-be parent that they were going to be a parent! But, she got sidetracked in her task by her own curiosity. What where all these intriguing gadgets and do-hickies? She walked over to one, a treadmill, proceeding to inspect it with all the finesse of a five year old. She stepped up on to it, giving the side grips a looking over before her eyes fell on the panel. So many buttons! Ooooh...

Zee was in the gym, trying to work off some pounds. Elves were naturally slim and lithe; they were made that way so they could run quickly and so avoid their enemies. "Ten pounds..." The dark elf muttered, glancing at his stomach. To an untrained eye, he might have looked like he was stressing over nothing. A little pudge was not unacceptable in the society in which he lived. "I'll never fit into my tuxedo now..."
He paused in his complaint long enough to notice a familiar purple haired girl. He had to keep himself from groaning. Not Jaella again! Last time he'd seen her she had informed him that his wife was pregnant with Matthias' child. He had a terrible foreboding that made the hair on his neck prickle. Was Stasia pregnant again? Was 'Zuba? She was old enough now, he supposed. He couldn't see anyone with her, so she hadn't brought someone from another world to give him.
"Hello, Jaella. What brings you here?"

Jaella turned, smiling at Zee before greeting the man with a hug. "Hi Mr. Zee!" she said, pulling back. "Well, I was just looking at this thingamabobber here. There's so many cool thingies here! It's like a HUGE playground!" To her, treadmills were futuristic? Yeah...
"But, I came here to find you, too." she said, smiling. "I have some great news for you! But first, what are you doing here?" she asked, curious. She still had no idea what people were supposed to here. It looked like a playground to her, as she stated before

"Hey," the dark elf said, patting the teenager on the back. He still wondered why she was here. "That's a treadmill," he explained. He couldn't blame her, not really. It hadn't been that long ago that he hadn't known what any of these objects were, either.
He groaned at the words 'Great news'. Great; they were getting another kid. Like they had room for another one. He'd known it all along. "I'm exercising. I need to lose some weight before the wedding." He didn't voice his fear that Stasia would leave him once she saw how much weight he'd put on. "So what's this great news? Stasia having another baby? It better be mine this time." Honestly, if he found out it was Matthias' again, he didn't know what he'd do--but he knew the fae would have to watch his back.

"Treadmill?" the teen repeated slowly, looking at the panel of the exercise apparatus she was standing on. "Cool..." She wondered what all the different buttons did... She shook her head a bit; had to focus on her task. She could play with this treadmill thingy after she finished.
"Well...." Jaella started, fidgeting a bit. Zee seemed less than happy about this. "Well, it is your baby. I don't know if its Miss Stasia's, though." She paused, thinking of how to phrase the news delicately. "She's not having a baby. You are." Yep, that sure was delicate. As delicate as a brick flying through a window.

Zee's jaw dropped, quite literally. He stared at Jaella with wide, horrified, golden eyes. Then a smile crossed his features. A chuckle escaped his lips. "Nice try, Jaella," he said. "You almost had me there. I know better than that. Females are the only ones who can give birth--and I'll have you know that Stasia and I haven't done anything--yet." The hesitation spoke volumes. He clearly intended to do this something; whatever that might have been. His mind veered to a certain man who'd given birth to a girl previously; one of his son's friends.
His navy blue skin paled until it looked very nearly gray. "No no," he muttered. "I've just been eating too much human food. My body's not used to it, it's to be expected that I gain weight..." Inwardly, he realized Darcy's magic could reverse biology. Oh no... What if Jaella wasn't kidding? What would he do? Get an abortion? Die during child birth? Stasia would most certainly cancel the wedding now--if not laugh at him.

Jaella offered a sympathetic smile, patting Zee on on the shoulder. "I'm not joking, Mr. Zee. Sorry." she said, her tone a bit softer. "It'll be okay though, I'm sure! You'll have a happy, healthy, baby girl, and Ms. Stasia will love her, and everything will be happily-ever-after and peachy-keen." She hugged the elf, trying to further comfort him.
"It'll be okie-dokie, okay? Just don't worry about it." she said, grinning from ear to ear. Obviously, she didn't see any reason for him to worry. Nope, none at all~

Instead of being comforted, Jaella's words seemed to make the matter worse. No no, he couldn't possibly have a baby. Much less a girl. He didn't want a girl. They had enough girls; they even had boys who acted like girls. Did they really need another one? He forced a smile for Jaella's sake; while silently vowing to kill the Azoulais in their sleep. Yes, it looked like the hormones of pregnancy had caught up with Zee. And having been an assassin for most of his life, he probably could have killed the Azoulais in their sleep if he really wanted to.
"I don't want her," he said bluntly. He was so angry, he could barely contain it. He didn't want a baby! He didn't want to have a baby! "Stasia'll laugh. She'll laugh and call off the wedding and laugh some more."

Jaella frowned a little. "Don't want her....? But she's your baby." she said, a little confused. Why wouldn't he want his baby? Parents were supposed to love their babies, which meant they would want them, too. "I'm sure Miss Stasia won't laugh. I'm sure she'll understand, being the nice, respectable lady that she is." she said, trying to reassure him and showing how little she knew of Stasia.
"It'll all work out, and everyone will be happy." she said, confident, as if the more she said it, the more likely it'd come true.

Zee would never admit that he would probably feel more kindly towards the infant within him once he could see her. "I don't want her," he repeated. Inwardly he felt a pang of guilt. He was lying. In a way, he did want her. He shook his head to get rid of the parental thoughts muddling his mind. "You clearly don't know much about my fiancee," he muttered. "She'll laugh, alright." If Zee knew Stasia, and he thought he did, she'd laugh and then start threatening and ranting about the Azoulais.
"Don't be so sure about that," he said. "Who's the other parent?"

Jaella was frowning now, shifting uncomfortably. This wasn't going exactly how she'd planned. She thought he'd be happy about the good news, but instead....instead, he didn't want here, and was convinced that his fiancee was going laugh and make fun of him. She didn't see any reason why she'd laugh; how was having a baby funny?
The purple-haired girl rubbed the back of her neck a moment before shrugging. "I.....I dunno." she said, offering a small smile.

Zee sighed, and glanced at Jaella guiltily. "I'm sorry," he apologized. "I shouldn't be taking my worries out on you. It doesn't matter if she laughs, really..." Well, it did. In Zee's opinion, being laughed at by his future wife was a fate worse than death; which meant it would probably be happening fairly often.
"I wondered, because I've been feeling anemic all of a sudden," Zee confessed. "Like I've been losing blood, but I can't find where I'm bleeding from. It doesn't hurt--I'm just so tired. All the time. Like Stasia was before she had Aesica." He hesitated. "Damn fae. It better not be his!" Stupid Matthias, getting mixed up in everything. Stupid fae, thinking he can teach Zee's future step children how to sword fight. Stupid fae, getting Stasia pregnant.

Jaella offered a small smile. "It's okies. I understand." she said, nodding once. She listened to him patiently, frowning a bit. "That's a no-no word." she said, sounding oh-so-mature. "Maybe you should see a doctor? Mom says people should see doctors when they aren't feeling well." she suggested, trying to be helpful.

A no-no word? Zee smirked. "Damn fae," he repeated, using a more playful tone. "I'm not interested in seeing doctors though, I know someone better. Thanks anyway." He was referencing to Risa; he'd call her later. If Matthias picked up, he could demand to know if the fae had some kind of recessive gene that caused them to drink blood. Of course, if Matthias' answer was yes, Zee would go out of his way to punch him.
"Well, if that's all you were going to tell me, I think I have some business to attend to." Like chasing after certain fae and making them answer questions.

Jaella frowned; what part of "no-no word" didn't he get? "Wait." she said, offering a small smile. "Can I come visit the baby when she's born?" she asked, smiling brightly. She leaned back on the treadmill panel, forgetting about the buttons that it held. Before she knew it, the ground beneath her began spinning and she went flying forwards, arms flailing to catch her balance. She was wrong; this place wasn't a playground! This place was too scary to be a playground!
