For all of the fullmetal fans this is a huge treat. It is not a remake of the first series, It is a new series that is closer to the manga and much longer. It is still ongoing, new episodes are still coming out which would make it very exciting to discuss.
The plot is very complicated. Alchemy in the story is kind of like magic that the military uses. A boy (Ed) and his brother (Al) lose their mother and try to bring her back to life using a forbidden Alchemy. Instead of getting there beloved mother they create a nonhuman blob kind of thing and Al ends up using his whole body while Ed loses his leg. Ed loses his arm to connect Al's body to a body of armor. Ed then gets his best friend Winry who is a skilled mechanic to build him a metal arm and leg. Ed gets accepted in to the State Alchemists being the youngest in history. The story moves along and the boys discover that the military is corrupt and instead of stopping wars, they have actually been causing them for a darker purpose. This story has all the qualities of greatness. It has lots of action and suspense. It has comedic moments and many moments of saddness from the lose of loved characters. This series has many plot twists and unexpected turns. The dubbed version is not out yet since it is so new, yet I would recommend the subtitle version because it has more adult qualities then the American version will have. They always tone down Japanese series.
I give this series a 5/5 rating. This is a smart show that makes it easy for anyone to understand and enjoy. I would love to get an ongoing discussions going with the oncoming and exciting episodes. If your into a show that show you a whole new perspective to life, then this is the show to watch!
