Kailani stood, nose to the wind, eyes closed, ears folded back and tail floating like a banner behind him, and enjoyed his freedom.

He had officially been a lone rebel for exactly two days; he almost shivered with exhilaration at the thought. No more pack...no more family legacy...no more pressure to conform to those stifling traditions. He didn't have to perform before the expectant eyes of a people who only loved him because they had to love the heir of their beloved pack. Life was good.

Well, for the most part anyway. There were a few things about being a rebel and a loner that hadn't quite occurred to him yet. For example -- he was hungry. Actually, now that he thought of it, he was hungrier than he had ever been in his life; the hunger gnawed at his insides, tearing at his gut like a trapped animal, and he whimpered a little at this entirely foreign pain.

Kai opened his eyes and looked around, remembering that he had never hunted before. Well...he had hunted, but not really; never hunted for his survival, at any rate -- there had been servants to do that for him.

"Well, there's nothing for it," he said aloud, glancing around himself. "I'm a lone wolf now. No servants around here..." His stomach gave a very loud rumble. He winced. "Time...to make myself a new wolf."

And so -- oblivious that he had proclaimed his existence to every wolf and preybeast in his vicinity, between his scent on the wind and his verbal proclamations -- Kailani, No-Longer-Prince of his grand pack, set off to find himself something to eat.

Delusion had momentarily shaken Domovoi, she was sure the black wolf was probably frantic with worry - but her wounds from the spy lynx were practically healed now and she had grown ired of sitting in her den awaiting the time to leave.

So she'd gone for a walk. A simple trouble less walk just outside the pack boarder. There couldn't be any danger in that could there? Of course not, most of the pack did it everyday - of course the majority of the pack were just common wolves with no troubles in their lives other then what they might eat that day. They didn't have to worry about spies...or assassins...or rogue wolves ruling their rightful land. She snorted slightly - must be a nice life.

Her thoughts were jarred suddenly as a voice filtered through the leaves. Freezing at the words 'no servant around here...' her ears flattened and she crouched low to the ground. Another spy! And he was searching for Domo..they must have figured out the black wolf was more then a servant but her protector too!

Well she wasn't about to let anyone take Domo away from her and without much thought about the matter she leapt through the trees racing towards the voice. Emerging from the foliage like a purple wolf possessed she growled at the bright blue beast, showing her fangs in what she thought must be a vicious look.

"Who are you? Spy? Assassin? You've picked the wrong mark this time bluebell!"

"What--" He cut himself off, abruptly, staring in complete bafflement at this newcomer. He hadn't heard or smelt her coming -- but then, why would he, he was up-wind -- and he had never seen anything that looked both so perfectly lovely...and so utterly dangerous. He froze, head and tail high and stiff in a dominant gesture but his thudding heart and wide eyes giving away his uneasiness.

Kailani had never met a wolf outside of his pack before. He knew they existed, of course -- he wasn't an idiot. Still, his pack had been xenophobic, small, and sheltered, and Kai -- the royal heir -- had been the most sheltered of all. Until two days ago he had never set foot outside of his territory; two solid days of running, walking, napping, and wandering later, he had no idea where he was and certainly no idea of the sort of people he would be running into.

"Spy? Assassin?" He laughed, and his was an easy laugh, amiable and without malice. "Not at all, my dear lady -- I am Kailani." He hesitated, debating if he should introduce himself by any proper titles, and then remembered he didn't have a title anymore because he had renounced all of that formal malarky when he stepped foot off pack lands. Instead, he finished lamely, "...But you can call me Kai."

Having left Glacier in Thealia's care for now Penthesilea set out again to find any suitable wolves to help reform her pack. Her spirits had been lifted after finding an old pack member so she wasn't about to waste any opportunity to find more. Luck had a way of coming in large bunches after all. So with this thought to push herself farther today she padded through the trees eyes, ears and nose alert for any potential new pack members or trouble.

Voices caught her attention about the same time as the scent of two different wolves came to her. Adjusting her path Penthesilea headed in that direction. Though the voices weren't very clear right now it sounded like a male and a female. She hoped that these two weren't together. Running into a happy couple was not something she wanted to start her day with.

But as Penthesilea drew closer she realized this was not a happy couple at all. It looked like their was a fight about to break out, or at the very least an argument. Carrying herself tall like a Queen should Penthesilea padded forward intent on investigating the situation but staying out of it for now. Should the female need help then Penthesilea would help, however the male was on his own.

Delusion was blissfully unaware of Penthesilea's approach, a more talented hunter or woodwise wolf would certainly have noticed, but Delu was neither of these things and while she might indeed look scary...it was all bluff. Delu couldn't fight off a wet leaf - as her recent twist with the Lynx had shown.

But bluff was sometimes just as good as truth and Delu having grown up concealing her true identity while living among the heathens was fairly well acquainted with keeping one up. She stopped growling and showing her fangs but stood stiffly with hackles raised as she stared at the male down her nose, just a little bit miffed that he should dare to laugh at her. Her! A princess! She sniffed at him disdainfully "Well..Kailani...if you are who you say you are...why are you here then? These are dangerous woods for strangers to trod upon."

"My apologies," he said, and genuinely meant it; this had certainly not been the way he wished to start his first encounter with an Outsider. An ear twitched; he thought he had heard someone approach, but he wasn't certain, and after a moment he dismissed the thought entirely. He ducked his head in a gesture of politeness or submission. "I am new to these lands and do not yet know the rules....tell me," he looked up, his eyes hopefully and his expression very much like an overeager pup, "...Where am I, precisely?"

Penthesilea was a bit disappointed that after the agreesive display the female gave the male that she backed down and didn't fight. Perhaps the female needed some fighting lessons and there was no better teacher than Penthesilea at this moment - or at least out of the wolves present. Her eyes moved to the male, he looked a bit like a softy, the way he lowered his head to the other nearly made Penthesilea smile. It was always so pleasing to see a male act submissive to a female, even if it was merely to save their butts from a fight.

Well enough sitting back for now. Padding forward, revealing herself to the two wolves Penthesilea stood tall looking at them both. Yet she remained quiet, she was still studying the situation but would hope in at a moments notice should things change. She wasn't a highly trained warrior for nothing and would eagerly join into just about any fight - unless it was a fight to save a male, then in that case that male would be on his own.

After a few moments of silence she looked upon the female. She was quite interestingly colored but that didn't really matter all that much. "Everything alright here?" She asked the purple female, ignoring the male for now.

Delu was lightly mollified by the males display and softened her own stance, though she kept a way eye upon him - spies were tricky you know! Domo would absolutely freak if he found out about this she was sure, he was pretty serious about his duty to guard her and she had only just recovered from her last encounter after all.

"Accepted, for now" She told the male in a slightly haughty tone, finally he was treating her the way royalty should be treated! That thought reminded her that she was supposed to be royalty in hiding and she toned down the princess indignity just a little bit. "You are outside the land of Agua Azul..I am Delusion, prin...member of the pack" For now anyway she added mentally though she didn't see any need to tell him that.

No sooner had she finished speaking to him then another arrived! Delusion snapped her gaze up to meet the females, she was an odd one - with feathers on her head and a dominant way about her. But Delu didn't feel overly threatened - after all she was asking if things were fine..not speaking about looking for servants.

"For now" She told the female primly "This male - Kai?" She questioned the male of handedly "just wandered about looking for servants. I thought he was a spy or an assassin looking for my ser..err friend" She hastily corrected herself "But it seems I was wrong and he's merely lost"

"I wasn't looking for servants!" He said, hurriedly, afraid perhaps that the concept would be offensive to this newcomer and he certainly was not interested in upsetting her -- she looked dangerous and exceedingly foreign. "I was just...." he trailed off, not entirely certain how to continue. He was feeling exceedingly self-conscious just now and not at all debonair, and it bothered him.

Back home, Kai had always had exceedingly good luck with the ladies. Granted, that was because any female he chose to be his lifemate would have been immediately granted a godlike degree of power and authority as the pack's alpha female, so his was a highly attractive company to keep....but that thought had never fully occured to Kai, and instead he simply believed that females inherently liked him. Why wouldn't they?

Now, however, staring between these two very odd females, he was beginning to question his lifelong assumptions about the fairer sex....another oddity of his pack, clearly.

Well, even dashing rebels occasionally had to admit their humility; that was a quality of heroism, was it not? He cast a glance at the feather-adorned female and, because she made him nervous, directed his words instead to the slightly-less-intimidating purple lady. "The thing is, madame, that I have recently left my homelands and do not know the rules of other lands, so I hope you can forgive my transgressions....but I am terribly hungry, and I..." he winced, in shame, and realized he could not admit the full truth, "...am unfamiliar with the preybeasts in this area, and how to find them."

Penthesilea took in the purple females words before glancing at the male. Looking for servants, what an odd thing to do. She hoped that he was not looking at making this female his so called servant, because Penthesilea would not stand for that even if this female was a stranger to her, deep down she was still Penthesilea's sister.

As she continued to look at the male Penthesilea couldn't help but notice that the male seemed quite intimidated by her presence and was speaking to the purple female. Typical weak male, she thought, breaks at the first appearance of a strong female. After the males short little speech to explain himself Penthesilea couldn't help but snort a small laugh. "You expect us to believe that pathetic story? That you are unable to track the prey in these lands? It is no wonder you were looking for servants out here, you cannot take care of yourself."

Turning her head she looked upon the female once more. "Another weak male, how sad." Though her voice was filled with disgust. "Forgive me for not introducing myself. I am Penthesilea, Queen of the Antianeira Pack."

Delu listened to the males story, she couldn't help but wonder what on earth he was doing out here on his own if he couldn't hunt for himself. It didn't seem like a very wise choice - but then again...she was out here alone when she ought to be planning her next move with Domo. Oh well. "Yes, yes your forgiven" She told him with a slight sigh "And I certainly can't have you starving to death so close to my home" It was after all the job of royalty to look after its subjects. "though I do wonder why your out and about on your own if you can't hunt for yourself...no matter I suppose" She glanced about her into the woods "If Domo were here I'd send him to fetch you something to eat, but I seem to have shaken loose of my guard servant at the moment I'm afraid" She explained though she wasn't sure exactly why she bothered. Clearly she was going to have to help the male find something to eat.

Her face turned towards the other wolf as she spoke - obviously she didn't think much of this blue male, but why that was became clear with her next statement - she was a Queen of course Delu should have known right off the bat, she nodded her head lightly in respect - after all Delu was still but a princess "Welcome your Majesty, I am Delusion " she hesitated slightly, she was supposed to be hiding..but this was royalty and if she wanted any respect well she would just have to admit her own true heritage! "Princess of the Lost Lands" She introduced herself to both of the wolves present. "And while his story is somewhat strange..I do not think he means any harm"

Oh dear, oh dear, no no no no . . . !" mumbled the large omega as he sniffed about, following his lady's trail. Ooooh, what was he thinking?! Just turn his head for a second and Delusion was likely to wander right off into the wilderness without him! What sort of bodyguard let things like that just happen? "Never never never going to so much as blink again!" Domovoi muttered to himself with a soft whine, though he hastened his pace as his princess's scent grew stronger, among . . . among others? Oh gods! His heart leapt into his throat as he bounded forward, spotting the familiar purple figure amongst two others which at the moment he could only loosely identify as a savage with feathers and a bright blue male.

One minute. One minute away from him! "My lady!" Domo gasped as he slid to a messy halt beside her, nosing the femme gently while keeping his head bowed. "M-My lady, are you alright? Who . . . who are these wolves? Tell me y-you have not gotten into trouble again!"

A queen and a princess, he thought -- and here he was, believing that playing down his identity would help the situation! He looked between two, debating what to say as each word that escaped him seemed to dig a deeper hole for himself.

He began to speak, to explain himself further, but was distracted by the sudden appearance of the servant. Kai blinked, caught offguard; wolves here certainly had a unique appearance, he thought, staring between Domo and Delusional. But no matter. "She's fine," he said, perhaps a bit louder than he needed to. His stomach growled loudly as though to accent his point. "I mean no one here any harm." And then, because he was beginning to feel as though his insides may have withered away to nothing, he added with more patheticness than he would have liked, "....though I am very hungry."

Penthesilea's brow quirked as a Delusion introduced herself as a princess. She didn't look like a princess but then again things outside of her pack was much different, clearly the others did not decorate their important members like Antianeira did. No matter, at least she has ran into a female that was close to her equal in rank, even if she didn't look like a strong princess. "It is a pleasure to meet you your highness." Penthesilea said with a slight tip of her head.

What she was going to say next was interrupted by the sudden appearance of another brightly colored wolf. A smirk crossed Penthesilea's maw, so the princess had an obedient male servant, how interesting. This made her think that she needed a wolf like this in her pack, those who could dominate over a male were always welcome in Antianeira. She pushed the thought to the back of her mind, something she could discuss with the princess in a more private situation.

Eyes moved back to the princess for a moment before looking over at the blue male. "if you are so hungry then perhaps you should spend less time talking and more time trying to figure out how to hunt."

"I'm perfectly fine Domo" She told him with a hint of amusement in her voice as he slid to a messy stop beside her - as though worrying about her well being was utter nonsense, though she was secretly pleased to see him. "I merely stumbled across this strange male..at first I thought he might be a spy but it seems he's just hungry and doesn't know how to take care of himself" She explained - clearly oblivious that this explanation might make Kai feel a bit bad. "Clearly we'll have to find him something to eat since I can't have him starving here" She concluded her explanation of the male and then nodded to Penthesilea.

"And this is Queen Penthesilea of the Antianeira Pack" She told him in a serious tone - clearly indicating he should be respectful, not that Domo was anything other then respectful of course. "...I'm not sure why she's wandering out here but as she's a queen I'm sure she has a good enough reason to do so" she finished with a pleasant look on her face. Royal company...gosh it was so nice to be in such company after so long among the heathens.
