Worry started to rush through the female's viens. In a pack of vicious warriors and bloodthirsty devils, she was lost without a voice. Of course, she didn't mind the evil ways of those she had come to call her family, for she willingly placed herself in the paws of a blood shaman.

However, her insecurities from the loss of her father would never truly die until she felt she met the approval of the Alphas she served underneathe. Recently, she felt like she was more of a burden then a benifit, a wolf merely allowed to stay because she was Haemon's mate. Even providing a set of healthy, strong pups didn't seem to gain her the respect she so desired.

There had to be something she could do, some way to make it so that she had a place in the pack that equaled to more than just another female used for breeding purposes.

Haemon had mentioned off-hand that there was a wonderful healer within Akiiki, and from that single seed of a thought blossomed a beautiful idea. She would heal others within the pack through their fights. She would not have to go outside of her own character and harm others to prove herself. Instead, she could keep strong warriors on their paws and away from illness and discomfort.

Surely that would please the King.. To have his warriors in tip-top shape?

So her almost dainty paws took her to the territory of another, eyes scanning every branch, every lump of dirt for some sort of attack on her.

But this was just something she had to do.

Dimitri had caught the scent first, and his hackles had raised. He darted quickly then running to Twix to report the news in his usual brisk manner. "Female from that Rotten Pack to the North, Coming in slow, appears to be alone. Orders?"

Dimitri had been a close friend, a companion, a true familiar to her since the day they had met. They both shared a deep devotion to the pack, a love that would not be distracted by silly things like wanting a mate or a family of ones own. Who needed to procreate when the wolves around them provided pups enough? No, Twix took pride in her vigilante patrols and her protective stance towards her family. The slip up of allowing Static and Necrala to cross paths without her knowledge was something she still cursed herself for. She was certain Musketeer wondered why she hadn't caught on and alerted him. The truth was she had been pacing the border that faced Agua Azul expecting a threat from there rather then any from the Reign.

Now she was alert, she knew Crunch patrolled, but she had split with Dimitri to try and cover as much area as possible. Some nights she never even went back to the den. She listened to the report and felt her lips twitch in a snarl. "Go, report to the first alpha you find to come and meet her...I'll go keep an eye on her and make sure she isn't up to no good..." She growled softly, she hoped Crunch would be the one to come handle this. Her brother was harder, firm where Alas was soft and kind. Still she had come to respect the pink female over time, Alas had proven that she too could be firm and Twix had a feeling the pink alpha was up to something...but she couldn't pin down what.

Luckily for Raelin the first alpha Dimitri could find was Alas and he quickly told her to come and deal with the intruding female. As soon as he delivered his report he dashed back off to meet up with Twix as her 'backup', the two remaining a distance away quiet and unintruding but making sure Alas wasn't bushwhacked.

The quick news of a female from the Reign coming into the territory had worried her. Tribute wasn't due, and Butterfinger and his brood always dealt with that rather then have those wicked wolves come into their home. The memory of how injured Necrala had been made her angry, now what did they want? She was just about through with letting them get away with these insulting intrusions. The tribute had supposedly been to give them peace, instead she found they were as much a problem as their western enemies.

She moved quickly then worried that Twix or Dimitri would be unable to show restraint. Raelin was rather easy to find by scent and sight and Alas approached with the grace and quiet power that spoke more a motherfigure then anything. Alpha she may be, but it was obvious in everything from the look in her eyes to her soft steps and the way her tail was held high yet swaying, this was a maternal figure not the one who doled out rules and punishments rather the one whos very gaze would simply make you feel guilty, her power was subtle, but it was there.

"You do realize these are Akiiki Chibale Lands?" Her tone was polite, soft, the same gentle tone that a mother might use on a straying silly pup.

The voice was actually what caught her first. Somewhere between trying too hard to pay attention and thinking hard, she let her thoughts take over and had zoned. She took a step back, bowed her head a little to show respect. This must have been an Alpha, the power, gaze and pose all mixed to show that.

"I do realize that, Madam." She kept her eyes on the other no matter how low she bowed her head.

"I have come seeking a wolf. For personal reasons. The only name I have to go by is 'Alas'. From my mate I have heard she is a grand healer. I must learn to heal to please the King." There was no real point in hiding her intentions. Or lying about what she needed or why she needed it. Beating around the bush would not get her job done quick enough.

"I cannot offer you much, but I can say that I doubt the King would be displeased if he learned that you were able to train a female from his pack to become useful to him. It could be in your favor as well." It was really the best thing she had to offer to the other. Finally, her head lifted and she stared at the other with almost hallowed eyes. "If you could please, show me where this Alas belongs.. Or where I might be able to find her, I would be quite pleased, Madam."

Ironic that this female should seek her out to train her, and a part of her was surprised that news of her healing ability had reached them. Of course she had been healer for Agua Azul, and trained Adolfo so undoubtedly word had somehow gotten around. She hoped that her new healing power hadn't garnered their attentions, she would need to make sure this female didn't notice them. Luckily just because she had a new power did not mean she allowed her old skills to go lax, she still knew where and what herbs, roots, and plants could serve as cures and ointments and her sharp mind knew every way to bind, twist, and relocate broken bones.

Anger flared up then, how dare they try and find her to train one of them. Was she to pass on the gift of healing so that those wicked beasts could keep themselves healthy enough to terrorize others? Her blue eyes narrowed and she frowned eyeing the female again and her humble bow. This one was not bloodthirsty or wild the way others of their pack seemed...and her eyes were not the cold daggers of brutal intelligence she knew so well.

"I am she..." She finally responded her tone colder now.

"Healing if a gift, it requires patience, care, tenderness...and love...you have to love what you do, or why you do it...otherwise you might as well leave most wounds to fester. From what I've heard of the Reign...this skill would be useless to you, go home."

When the other started to get upset, she took a step back and looked her over. Of course she should not have expected things to get so easy, but she would not back down or take no for an answer.

"I can understand hesitance, Madam Alas. This is.. the plea of a mother and a mate." Her eyes shone a little, hoping that the other could understand where she was coming from. "My mate, my pups.. They will be warriors, and so I wish to know how to help them in any way I can." Haemon would become so tired from using any of his powers..

Though her children may never get to his level, they had potiental and their linage and loyality could lead them into many harsh battles.

"I also.. cannot shame them in the eyes of the King. I cannot be just another female who's only purpose is to breed warriors. I want to show that a female can be valuable in more than that."

Alas eyed the female for a long moment silently taking in what she had to say. In her heart she could feel the honesty of what she said, that she was a mother and a mate. Love thy enemy, was that not the very phrase that Alas had endured her whole life. She had tried so hard to love Twist, to show her the way how to be a good mate and a good mother. In the end unable to sway her she had taken Tempeste and left. She had loved Tempeste and raised her as her own, love born from her enemy.

Now a new enemy was here, but this female was not blind and hateful, she wanted to do something good for her family. How could Alas deny her that, how could she deny anyone the knowledge they needed to help ease the pain of the ones they loved?
"What is your name?" She finally asked with a soft sigh.

Despite her anger at how the reign had treated their pack, and despite knowing that others would tell her to simply turn the other female away, she could not. Something in the world had given her a marvelous gift, she had begged for a way to protect her loved ones, and somehow she now had the power to do just that. If she denied others the basic knowledge of healing then what made her worthy of her new found gift?

Raelin stood with little ease under the scrutiny of the female alpha's gaze it was a mixed of being judged and weighed, something which she never revelled in, of hoping that she'd accept her request and also the thought of utter humiliation of thinking that if Haemon saw her now he'd be ashamed of her behaviour. She knew deep down nothing she could do would ever displease Haemon for he loved her unconditionally, well almost. Perhaps then it was the idea that Haemon would be humiliated with the knowledge that he possessed a mate which acted in such a cordial manner towards wolves of another pack where any other Reign wolf would demand this knowledge she sought rather than request it. Raelin however was not a true Reign wolf, she was not dark of character and did not relish such behaviour more that she had been in a certain place at a certain time and had hopelessly fallen for a male who's life entangled into the dealings of such wolves and to an extent his own personality displayed such tenancies but she could forgive him and only him for those while he held her heart.

She looked up at the motherly figure in front of her and truly began to take her in, here was a mother she wished she had been blessed with; strong, confident but soft and nurturing at the same time, a mother she wished she could aspire to unlike her own who had been young, much like herself and much like herself got herself mixed up with the wrong sort of wolves. She noted the flicker in the eyes of the pink femme and knew then she'd hit a note which sang to her and a flicker of a smile began to bud on her maw, a little light in her dark world. Her voice came softly at first, the same respectful tone she had pronounced her other words though towards the end, upon the last syllable of her name, she issued it like a challenge; old habits died hard, 'Raelin.' Her eyes lowered then not wanting the female to believe it really was a challenge and a small voice berated herself but she quickly snuffed it out. Slowly then she rose her pale yellow orbs to stare questioningly at the alpha, so had she won her over? Would the female grant her wish or did she need to prove herself more so?

"Raelin...I will teach you what I know, but not to please you're king or serve your pack, but because you are a mother like me, because you wish to care for your own as I have cared for mine. I hope you can understand that? I would also like these borders to be respected, we pay our tribute and we pay it so that your pack will not molest ours. I will meet you to the east on neutral grounds everyday alone. You will meet me alone and like wise I will trust and meet you alone. On occasion I may bring an injured party or member of my pack so that you may test the skills I teach you. If you can agree to those terms then I will show you what you wish to learn."

Alas held back a sigh, she could almost feel Twix's disapproval on her like a physical force. The beta would be angry at her meeting Raelin alone, too trusting she would say. Maybe Twix was right, but Alas wasnot used to backhanded dealings or intrigues and if the Reign really wanted to hurt her or the pack they easily could have managed it by now. For the moment the two packs lived in a calm uncertain truce with neither having any serious liking for the other, but tolerance enough.
