Koudo laughed as the little colt swore, "Not just touching them and all that. You have to learn the anatomy of the tree. You have to learn all of the parts of the tree. Do you know all of that?" He already started learning about the trees? Wow, he's quite determined. Koudo smiled innocently down at the little colt, "Would you care to take a walk with me? Tell me what you've learned already?" He was interested in what the little one had to offer in the way of information. Koudo is an earth stallion, so he does know about the anatomy of trees. He doesn't exactly know how to speak to the trees, per say, but Koudo thinks he has what it takes to.

Ravish grinned, "sure mister Koudo sir a walk it is then" he said matter of factly, nodding his head as he said it, incredibly eager to get started, he knew the trees and how to tell them apart, mostly by the leaves, but he had no one to teach him the names, he was alone whenever Gallant had to go back home, it was a miracle that no predator had taken him out really, unless they thought he was just too weird to eat

Koudo smiled at the little one and the focused on the ground, "Do you know about the roots, young sir? And how to tell the age of a tree by just looking at its rings? Do you know about the way that trees make it possible for life?" Koudo knew the questions to ask, the least he could do would be to teach the little colt how trees make life possible and how the roots made the tree. He was going to teach the colt everything he needed to know to summon the courage to learn for himself how to speak like a spirit of the trees. Koudo chuckled at the colt's eagerness to learn about it.

Ravish shook his head, "no sir, i didnt know you could tell how old a tree was, roots, i know not to trip over them, i could get really hurt if i did" he said, thinking things over, then gasped "trees.....make everything live?! WOW!" he exclaimed, stopping stock still in surprise and just staring at Koudo

Koudo smiled at the little colt, "You have much to learn Young One." He then proceeded to tell the colt everything he knew about trees: "The trees have a process called photosynthesis where they are able to take the rays from the sun and transform them into food. They also 'breathe' in carbon dioxide and exhale oxygen. Much like how we inhale oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. If the trees were not around to do this, we would not have an active supply of oxygen. If we had no oxygen, we would not be able to breathe. Plants allow for us to live safely and without worry."
"The roots, however," Koudo pointed his left hoof at a huge root sticking out of the ground, "soak up the water from the rain and turn it into nutrients in order to make the process of photosynthesis work." Koudo had no idea if he was saying was completely 100% accurate, but he was teaching the colt what he, as a little one, was taught. Koudo nodded his muzzle towards the stump of a tree. "Look here. If you count these rings, starting from the middle, you will be able to tell how many years old this tree was." He smiled, Koudo was definitely enjoying being the 'mentor' of someone who apparently looked up to him.

Ravish's brain hurt, there was so much to learn and he was still only a foal, he tried to take in as much as he could but still ended up having to get Koudo to repeat himself again and again, eventually at the end of the day he thought he had learned all that he was told that day, so when he was told to see how many rings were on the tree, he stared hard, trying to count "one, two, three, four, five ...." and so on until he reached about a hundred and fifty "mister Koudo, this tree is a hundred and fifty years old" he said proudly, rubbing his eyes since they ached a little.

Koudo laughed whole-heartedly, "Very good ma'boy!" He reared happily, "You are learning fast, Young Grasshopper. Soon enough, you will be among us as a spirit of the trees. You must continue with your training. Learn everything that you need to learn about them. Do you have any questions on what I have already taught you? Or do you suppose you are ready to move on with your training." I don't know how much longer I can keep this up for, if he isn't able to talk to the trees by the end of this, he'll know that I'm a fake and it will all be ruined. He's such a hopeful little one. His eyes burn with such an intent on the trees, it is unlike anything that I have ever seen before. Koudo studied the little colt, waiting. "Now remember, before you get ahead of yourself, you do have to learn and you can take as much time as you need going over the basics before we move on to even greater things. It is always better to have the knowledge so that we aren't back-tracking, eh?" His eyes squinted as his muzzle parted in a smile. What have I gotten myself into?

Ravish blinked, his brain ached and his eyes hurt. He rubbed at his eyes on his legs, yawning as he did so, "mister Kuodo sir?" he said tiredly "can we do more tomorrow? i'm a bit tired" and he lay beside the tree he had told Kuodo the age of, struggling to keep his eyes open, his head dropped, hanging on his chest.
