The monument was erected in May 2008 opposite the city's large memorial to the six million Jewish Holocaust victims.

It is currently comprised of a concrete slab with a window through which viewers can watch a video of a "never-ending" kiss between two men.

Under the original plans, the video is to change every two years to feature two women locked in an embrace, meaning the switch is due in May.

But Alexander Zinn, a board member of the foundation that maintains the former Nazi concentration camps near Berlin, said such a move would distort history as there were no known Holocaust victims targeted for being lesbian.

Ok, question is this... should lesbians be included or excluded from a holocaust memorial as victims of nazis?

What the bloody hell? This is like feminist propaganda gone bad.

Monument should not exist.

As homosexuals, the Lesbians would have been targeted if discovered.

But putting a video of two people kissing on a loop over and over again and calling it a Holocaust Memorial is what bothers me.

And they know this as a fact, how? I bet there were some lesbians in concentration camps, probably a hell of a lot fewer lesbians, but still I bet there were some.

I don't really see this as a problem. Actually they should have both male and female homosexual expressions at the same time so no one gets "confused" to what kind of memorial monument it is. :

There are so many ways they could have memorialized this. A nice marble statue of two men or two women in an embrace or holding hands?
Associating the Holocuast with something so sensual as a video of nonstop kissing, whether the couple is same-sex or not, just seems like the wrong way to go.
While I can appreciate the boldness to it, I find it disrespectful.

I concur with Lummany on this one.
