Nayavu was getting bigger and stronger as the days passed by it seemed. He was also getting more independent and adventurous with each passing day. It seemed he just couldn't stay close to his loving family.
Though he did always return after each adventure. Nayavu had so much to do though. He didn't have time to wait around the family den. Nope, thats why he was now all by him self in the great big planes. His fur served him well to hide him at least.
Sure he was growing, but Nayavu was still a cub. Though big for someone his age, he could still easily be put in his place by an adult or cub napped. Arrogance ran behind his eyes though like a wild fire. Ain't no one no how in this world gonna tell Nayavu what he can and can't do.
Except for maybe his mother if she found out where he was. But everyone one else..

Mani was enjoying her daily stroll, seeming to take in the sights even as her walking went on automatic. Not there was much to see on the opens flat land, aside from the usual of course. The purple coloured cheetah yawned, the mild heat making her a little sleepy. This too, was normal. maybe it was the heat or, maybe it was the late night noises that kept her up. ...Or the fact that she slept like boar.
Mani looked around for a good space to shade herself. She saw a few scraggily trees, rocks,..grass. Well, perhaps louging in a patch of grass would be nice. Usually whenever she flopped under a tree, some rocks would end up jabbing her side. Never a fun thing.

Nayavu continued on his way boldly. Nothing scared him, he was a tough guy after all. Hed smack anything down if if anything tried to get in his way. Yeah he was tough.
A snake passing by slithered over his feet causing the leopon to jump and run the other way.
"Sn-snake!" He cried dropping his tough boy attitude.

Mani's ears perked up as she heard something. Someone had cried out and they sounded rather..young. A cub perhaps? Ah, but why would a cub be out here on their own? Surely they were in the company of a family member? Regardless of her thoughts, Mani couldn't ignore it. She'd feel bad if it turned out that the cub was on their own. The cheetah trotted off in the direction that she'd hear the cry come from.

Nayavu slowed down so he could catch his breath. Good it was gone. Snakes yick. Granted he didn't mind eating a snake, he just didn't like them when they were alive... and slithering.
The cub took a seat to catch his breath. That had been some sprint.
His guard was completely down so he didn't notice the cheetah close by.

Mani's long strides had served her well enough. Having long legs had it's perks. She exhaled slowly, allowing for a slower intake of air once she'd inhaled again. Hm? That was a mixed scent. Mani had never come across that sort of scent before. Lion .. and leopard? ..Together? Interesting and spiffy! She hadn't looked too far, when she'd come across the cub. The cheetah took a few steps forward, " Hi there, what's a cub like you doing out here on your own? "

Nayavu almost jumped out of his skin. A voice? But he hadn't smelt anyone.. though honestly he hadn't thought of sniffing the air to see if any one was close. Crap.
"Alone, " The leopon slowly turned his head, eyeing the cheetah. Cheetah? Honestly this was the first one he'd laid eyes on. The male had heard about them though. Was this creature a cheetah. Nayavu took a few paces closer, really getting close.
"Yeah, what about you," His young yet gruff voice was almost demanding and answer rather then question.

The purple cheetah smiled in a friendly manner at the cub, as he lumbered closer to her. " I'm alone as well. But, I'm an adult, so it's normal for me to be on my own... " The only time Mani had seen cubs, no matter the species, was when they were with family. It was strange for her to encounter a cub that was on their own. Although he wasn't even hers, she felt a bit worried. There were a lot creatures bigger than him. Things that'd he'd be a snack for.

The cub gave the female an arrogant look like she, "Its not normal for a teenager to be out on his own," He lied about his age, sure, but he didn't like being treated like a kid. He wanted to be all grown up already so he could roam the vast plains of africa and do what he wanted when he wanted. No mother to answer to.
Okay, maybe he'd JUST listen to his mother. But everyone else could go lick dirt.
It was obvious, despite the juves lie, that he was in fact not a teen at all.

Mani gave the cub a once over, without it being too obvious. Obvious.. like the youngun's lie. It was a bit obvious he was a ' teenager '. Though, this was the first time she'd come across a hybrid before so, for all she knew he could be telling the truth. In a sense. If so.. he's an adorable runt. " Well then, a young male like yourself can very well handle things out here. "

The cub wasn't shocked that it had worked because he had truly expected it to. He gave her a grin and a nod. He could take care of him self and he was glad that this female accepted that.
"I can," He was blunt. "I'm a strong leopon after all, " He nodded agreeing with him self.

Mani couldn't help but giggle to herself internally. " I must say, I've never met a leopon before. This is quite an honour. " IN a way it was. She'd seen lions, leopards, and others like herself. And of course hyenas. ..Or at least would hear their laughter. Never before had she encountered a leopon. ..Or any other hybrid for that matter. But, it didn't matter. The cheetah wasn't about to hate him for being different. It made him more adorable and unique to her.

The leopon puffed his chest out, proud.
"Oh?" He inquired, "You never met a leopon. Well I can tell you we're twice as scary as any old lion or leopard."

" Is that so? Well, then won't you be the big, bad leopon when you're fully grown. " Mani said, sitting on her haunches daintily. " You'll be the terror of the savannah, eh? "

Nayavu nodded, almost to excitedly. Yes, finally some one who understood him. His ego was all to easy to feed. But then again he was still a young boy.
"Yes!" He gave her a daring smile, "Some one who finally see's what I see."
