The sun was warm and pleasant all across Gaia on a morning in late March when a set of triplet mothers and their four young sons came out to host a large party in an open grassy field, open to anyone who was interested. Oriiohn had had the forethought to ask Jaella to send word to some of the other guardians before she'd started up a monumentally huge party in the park with her family.
A few long picnic tables had been adorned with tablecloths (though most of them looking very much like colorful bedsheets) and food had been laid out to the public. There was a strange warmth in the air around that table, however, which seemed to keep bugs away from it. Probably good what with how food and small children were.
At the end of one of these covered tables, an old fashioned boom box had been set up to play music though it curiously lacked any batteries or a place to plug it in. Seated by this boom box was a cheery looking yellow skinned lady who rather resembled Dandy of Nartian Rock fame. She was poking occasionally at the buttons on the machine to change the song, but seemed mostly concentrated on where the present kids of the group were located - her son among them.
This son was a dark haired boy with rainbow tentacles, who was presently tossing a beach ball back and forth to his younger brothers. These brothers consisted of a very pretty infant fairy, who stumbled around to bat it back, and a pair of troll boys.
Riya had opted out of wearing his fancy clothes and shoes today in favor of something more summer related - his mother had told him that he'd break the heels dancing and chasing the beach ball on the grass, so the toddler just went barefoot. Roshan looked his usual happy self, lack of shoes standard for him. He chased the ball only halfheartedly, more interested in occasionally looking over to where Oriiohn and Nolan were hula hooping. This resulted in many whacks to the head with the soft ball.

A dark elf walked towards the event, dressed in clothing that she hadn't worn in years. Shorts and a tanktop with a handprint of purple paint on the front. Ivy looked different in the light clothing, even Lila had nearly fainted at the sight of the assassin in normal clothing. There wasn't a trace of black in her appearance unless you counted her very dark skin tone.
Ivy felt almost naked without jeans and a long-sleeved shirt on, especially when she couldn't wear her usual weapons. No sword or knives could easily be hidden in her present outfit. Though she looked at the grass, not liking that she wasn't willing boots.
Although her mother wasn't too happy in her outfit, the ragdoll toddler that walked with her was. Eve had been surprised when Lila had gotten her a few outfits that could handle some paint. The little girl wore a sundress that had paints of all colors splattered on it. It had been white when Eve had gotten it and she wanted to make it pretty.
Eve let go of her mother's hand once they go to the party, running barefooted over to where the other children were playing. Her hair, which Lila had managed to get a headband in, wasn't in her face.
Ivy spread a blanket out over a spot that looked comfortable. Her left leg had been hurting since it got wounded, but Ivy knew her daughter had already seen the bandage around her left calf. She merely chose to watch Eve with a shy grin and somewhere to relax.

An elderly woman hobbled over the terrain cautiously with a picnic basket on her arm, a cane in the other. She huffed. Even with the day being as beautiful as it was, ever since that meeting with the elf Lo had felt her age more acutely than ever. The man was possibly twice her age and he looked like the boy who cut her grass!
Bailey pouted when Lo frowned, unaware that she was lost in her own thoughts and thought something was wrong. "Here, let me carry it." The fae held it's arms out for the basket. Today it was dressed like a normal child, in a cotton tee/short seat, customarily missing shoes.
She smiled. "Are you sure?" Bailey nodded furiously. "Well, alright." She passed the basket over to the fae, who stumbled backwards and she thought it might drop it when Bailey's wings appeared, giving the toddler added stability.
They went on at a slower pace as they approached the group. Bailey tried to duck behind Lo's legs, but the basket wouldn't allow for it, so she pushed it ahead. "R-Riya?" It shyly chirped, scuttling over to the troll's side. "Cuppycakes....help!" Bailey started to fall forward, even with it's wings pulling back.

Riya and Roshan each spotted separate familiar faces, moving away from the party a bit to greet people. While the boys both knew the two arrivals, they had significantly different attachments to them.
"Ooh, Cuppycakes." the troll giggled, reaching out to help with the basket but starting to overturn as well.
About this point, Steve rushed over to use his larger size and added tentacle strength to lift it up and help. "Here, I'll put it at the tables." the boy offered, carefully carrying the basket and leaving the two to talk. Riya, of course, immediately hugged Bailey. "Missed you!"
Roshan, on the other hand, dashed over to hug Eve. "Patchy-girrrrrrrrrrrl!" he cooed, knowing her by sight from the two times they'd met and going to hug her. "Hiiiiiii! You haven't met my brothers yet!"
Aiden, left alone, blinked at his siblings and hugged the beach ball possessively. After all, Steve'd handed it to him and the others had gone away to say hi to friends so it was his for now.

Ivy took a deep breath when the boy ran to hug her daughter, the pain in her leg reminding her that she was in no way able to run at the moment.
Eve grinned at the sound of the boy's voice and hugged him back when he hugged her. She remembered his name, Roshan. "Hi, Roshan," she resisted the urge to tell him that her name wasn't Patchy-girl. It was a nice nickname at least.
Eve remembered the brother he had with him at the laundry mat, but nodded as she didn't mind meeting him or the child that she had spotted holding the beach ball.

"Wheeew!" The fae sighed and looked up at Steve, curiously glancing to his tentacles. They were just like Lissy's! Except they were both the same length with alot prettier colors. He barely had time to mutter a shy thanks before being hugged.
It's wings flared out behind it like a jet engine to match Bailey's shock. Bailey smiled and hugged Riya back. "Me too! Wheres your shoes?" It peeped over Riya's arm, looking for those signature heels when it spotted Aiden and waved.
Lo, being old, felt it wasn't necessary to keep ones personal space. She set up her blanket next to Ivy's and smiled friendly to the younger appearing woman. "You don't mind me here, do you? Just seems a shame to be lonely." She smoothed out the wrinkles before sitting her cane to the side, settling down the way the elderly do. "Whats your girls name?"

Ivy had heard the old woman come over, but shook her head. "I don't mind." She smiled back, trying to be friendly. "Eve, what's the name of your fae child?" Ivy remembered her manners, "I'm Ivy, by the way."
The winged fae that was hugged by Riya caught Eve's eye, but the kid looked like some of the characters her mother read to her about.

Roshan smiled, "Eve is Patchy Patchy Patchy." he sing-songed as he dragged the girl towards the others, "We were playing ball." he told her with a nod. He remembered her name, for the most part, and wasn't trying to be mean, but her patches were fun and the word was neat to say. So she'd always be Patchy Girl to him.
Riya giggled and wiggled his toes in the grass. "Mommy Wamii said I'd trip so no heelsies today." he told Bailey, taking the fairy over to where Aiden sat with the ball. "Let's play!"
Steve walked over to Lo and Ivy about that point, smiling at the older women. "Did you two want me to bring you 'neethin' since you's over here? Drinks or summat?"

Eve laughed as he brought her over to the others, she didn't seen any mean intention on his face when he called her Patchy. She was glad that she didn't have shoes on.
Ivy smiled somewhat friendly to the man, but thought about if she wanted something to drink. "Is there any soda cans? I'll drink anything," she didn't care as the can was sealed when she got it.

Lo sighed deeply when she sat down. She stretched her knobby legs out infront of her, stretching her toes from within her sneakers. "Pleasure to meet'cha, Ivy." Thoughtfully, she shook her head and dug around in her purse. "The little one's name is Bailey and it's my grandchild. My daughter, bless her heart, died a few months back." Sure enough, she had a photo album in her purse and the last one she showed to Ivy. It showed a tall, thin blonde woman hugging Bailey with a child that looked alot like Steve clinging to her leg.
She looked up and smiled to the boy. "Something sweet, please."
The fae, meanwhile, was nodding at it's friends wisdom. Then it's attention turned to Aiden, causing it's wings to flutter like they always do when one of it's own was spotted. "Kay. But...what about Roshan and his friend?" Bailey didn't want to leave anyone out, but new people always scared the skittish fae. It half hid behind Riya.

Part of Ivy felt sorry for the old woman's loss of her daughter. "I'm sorry for your loss. Bailey is adorable." She smiled at the picture of the woman, "The other child in the picture, is that a sibling of Bailey's?"
Eve watched Bailey out of the corner of her eye, but remained at Roshan's side out of shyness and not wanting to be rude to Roshan.

Steve smiled, the toddler nodding and going over to get the soda and a cup of sweet tea. He returned rather quickly holding them out to the two adults. "Just call me if you needs neethin. I'm Steve."
Riya laughed and hugged Bailey. "It's okay - that's EEEEEEEEVE. She's nice. Ro' calls her Patchy cause she's patchy. I'll int'doos you." he said, carefully pulling Bailey to the other kid.
"That's Bailey." Roshan whispered, "He's nice, but he's flutt'ry. Don't be jumpy or loud with him, k?" he said, taking Eve over towards the fae.

Ivy smiled when Steve came over and accepted the soda, "Thank you, Steve." The toddler was interesting to her, then again, she did have a child that was stitched together with pieces from different people.
Eve blinked and smiled slightly when she heard Riya talking to the fae child.
She nodded in answer though she didn't want to scare the toddler. She remembered how her mother had taught her to greet frightened animal though Riya' friend wasn't like the few stray animals.
She smiled gently and slowly reached her hand out to Bailey, "I'm Eve." She had spoken softly to not be too loud.

Lo folded her pictures up and stowed them away in her face, all the while talking, "Oh, yes. Her name is Elisabetta and she looks more like the little boy who was just here than Bailey. She was just to wild for me be running around after, so she's staying with a friend of the family instead."
She smiled and took the tea gratefully. "I hope it tastes as good as it looks." She took a drink. "Mm! It does. Thank you, Steve."
"Oh, no. Wait..." Bailey's heart was pounding out of it's chest. What if Patchy was mean? Or....or...or...scary? It's scooped ears drooped low. It had it's eyes closed tight by the time it reached the other toddler, noticibly shivering with it's wings flared out.
Ever so slightly, Bailey opened it's left eye and looked down at Eve's hand. It gulped and reached out, proding it before taking the hand in a shake. "I'm Ba-Bai-Bailey," It whispered. ".....Your dress is...i-i-is cute."

"I thought they were similar. I hope she is happy with the family friend," Ivy replied. "Eve is a bit of a handful herself, but her nanny helps me out with her a lot of the time."
Ivy opened the soda can, not trusting enough to drink anything from another that wasn't sealed when she got it.
Eve watched Bailey carefully, be able to tell very much that it was afraid of her. She didn't remember doing anything frightening, but Riya did say that the fae was very shy.
Eve stayed still, letting Bailey shake her hand. "Thank you, my nanny bought it for me and I colored it myself," she whispered back. "It's nice to meet you, Bailey."
