The manga is by far better than the Movie. Honestly, Otomo should have made the movie into a mini-series instead. Of course that would have been really expensive considering that the movie used about 25 different animation houses to complete the project.

Manga. The plot's so much more in-depth and clear and it made room for a ton more character development. As well as more characters. And, like, several apocalyptic Akira phenomenons. No movie could ever incompass the big, fat, beautiful manga in its entirety.

My God, you are missing out. I weep for you.

If you were the type to do illegal things like download the comic, there are a few places that have the bittorrent tracker of the Akira manga in .CBR format, I think. Personally, I don't think downloading them's all bad; I go buy the ones I like anyways, even if they're on the computer. Besides, comics... really are kinda pricey. neutral
