We as christians are a mass of diffrent people bound together by one love so massive that we can't start to describe it. If sweeps the world to the smallest child in africa to the busyest stock broker in New York, waiting for the smallest moment to come in a take the pain away. Nothing goes untouched by the swriling masses of that unseen beauty, and yet everything is free from it. This love is a fabric woven perfectly by God, woven to cross our own seemingly petty versions till that day where we can relize it true beauty, and through it the beauty of our own pattern. This is the most important part of my religon.

I just wanted to ask you guys, what the most important part of your religon to you?
Oh,and by the way, Luke 6:37 says; "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. do not condemn, and you will not be condemned." Don't bash another point of view here, this is not the place to do it. Please.

Matthew 22

36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Luke 10

26"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How do you read it?"

27He answered: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'[a]; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"

28"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do this and you will live."

John 13

34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Love the very core of Christianity.

Going to Bible Study is my favorite thing. As a student it's my life to study textbooks if I want to get a good grade in class and understand the course. The same goes with my faith.

Not having to worry because no matter how many horrible things come our way we still win in the end.

For me, the most important thing is knowing that no matter what I do, I'm still loved. God knows my biggest fear is being alone, so knowing that I never will be alone, that He will be there always, is very empowering to me.

Love, which encompasses many things. It includes God's love, my love for God, my love for others, and love for all things. :]

Love. Love is so important. God is, in essence, Love in my belief and by loving others we spread his love around the world. I believe that's how he shows himself to us.

Like most others, I find that love is the most important part of Christianity. Second would be the fact that God is forgiving to everyone, and that we should be forgiving in kind.

What is most important to me?

Some thoughts by DMJ the only EFFIN SHOW

What is most important to me would be too easy to answer. Some say what is important to me would be to making you cry like a little b***h as I dismantle your posts in such a way that you either learn from the experience or get so pissed off and butthurt that everyone who challenges you from that point on is me. Some would say that my whole existence is devoted to flaming and harassing them. Some would say that the most important thing to me is the joke. The clear consensus on what is important to me is Teaching. One way or the other, you will learn from me.

I would also cite the answer given by Christ: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

The second part, love your neighbor, isn't just about being nice or treating people well. If I really love someone as I love myself, then I want for them what I want for myself, and I forgive them the way I forgive myself. I don't hold a grudge against myself forever, or declare myself worthless, or say that there is something fundamentally wrong with me just because I make mistakes or am different from others. Loving your neighbor as yourself represents humility, which is for me the whole of Christianity.

You've got the core understood very well.

I can't answer this question, at this time, 'cause I just don't know anymore.

I used to think faith, love, and hope; was the important things. Faith like a mustard seed to move mountains, hope that the storm will subside, and love for all.

Now, I don't know... confused

Faith moves nothing, the storm will end no matter if you hope it does or not, and the more love you give the more painful the ending.

neutral Faith, love, and hope are important. Faith does move, we just can't see it. Recently, I've been personally on a mission to pray big and see what happens--a test of my own faith. Over the last several months (really since my grandmother passed last fall) I began to wonder and doubt if God really heard my prayers. For a while I was just anxious and buried myself in my work, but it wasn't getting me anywhere. So, I started a blog (I won't link it eek ) chronicling my journey to know God. I wanted to be certain that my faith was my own and not for the sake of tradition, habit, or friendship. And the moment I realized that, I began to pray, for greater things than I had in the past.
I prayed for money for school (because I had maxed out my student loans, and couldn't afford the tuition--it's my last semester, too!) I received MORE than what I actually needed (by about $1500) in scholarships and a 0% interest loan (I didn't even know those things existed!!! eek ). I prayed for my godfather's brother to be healed (and suffered a minor heart attack and might have cancer). While we don't know if he's "healed", his condition is significantly better. The biggest thing I'm praying for is for the means to start a business once I graduate (I'll let you know how it goes). These are just a few things, but praying like this has increased my faith, and I'm convinced God hears me, and that there's nothing I can't pray for because he'll provide for me.
Also, while every storm does end, the real question worth asking is will it end well for you. Some storms we escape unscathed, other with scars, and others still absolutely devastated. Remember Noah. He lived through the flood, too, and he knew the earth wouldn't forever be in a deluge. But he was also in the unique position to say he survived. Remember the storm the disciples faced with Christ. It was there and unavoidable, but what protected them was faith (well, Christ's faith because he rebukes their lack of faith, but tells them that they too could have stopped the storm had they had faith).

And yes, love is painful. But all things in life worth having, keeping, or fighting for demand sacrifice--freedom, safety, companionship, peace. If you look even at your own life, every meaningful relationship you've ever had wasn't a walk in the park. It took work. You might have failed at some things as did the other person, but you both grew and matured and are better for it.

And I will tell you that honestly looking at my life, there has never been an instance where giving more love to someone has ended in more pain for me. It absolutely can't. (Sometimes the person you're trying to love does not appreciate you or what you do, but it's their loss, and should not grieve you one bit. I've been that person, I know. I regret not showing more love, respect, and appreciation to quite a few people I've met in life, and it is my loss because I'm only now realizing the benefit of their presence in my past).

Remember, life retains value only when we acknowledge at what price it is attained.

Sorry for the long message, all. perhaps this would have been better as a PM (Though PM me or anyone you feel comfortable with, SNC. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. God is with you and take full advantage of the pitstops (the awesome ppl you meet in life) along the way!) heart heart

We are all alone, with only moments of union as people pass on the path of their life.

I am glad prayers help you, I am beyond glad. As for me I feel, see, or sense no connection to anything higher than me. I also took a census, after my mother died, and found myself wanting. Blind faith/obedience for me is no answer, I see no reason to acknowledge something that doesn't make it's presence known.

Every wish/prayer/hope I sent up, I only got silence in return. If he is waiting for the perfect time, he has missed it. Everything I hoped for came or gone by my hands, no help.

How you are affected by a storm, speaks about your character, not some faith or hope.

The value of life, is what one does with it. The price of life is cheap, two people get together and poof... new life.

I have searched my whole life for something that would point to him, and found wanting every time. I have stepped out on faith many times, and fell flat on my face.

Yes their are awesome people in the world and one is blessed to know them for a moment; as for a gawd, I am not so certain.
