The Barracks of the Water/Ice empire is for members of the army ONLY. There are higly trained guards at the door who will whup you rear end faster then you can say, "Abracadabra!"

The inside of the dorm's main roomis painted a pale blue, with furniture and banners of black and dark purple. It was a fireplace that is lit at almost all times, and it is for all members and the army to come and relax. There is further dorms for males and females, and soldiers may only go to their own dorms. There are constant drills in the morning, and about 5 to 6 mornings a week, a 3 mile run will be called. Be prepared for anything. Seriously. Anything. Im not kidding. Be ready to juggle flaming torches with a blindfold on.

Mira was lounging in the main room, and it was about time that the soldiers would be coming back from their afternoon hike through a mountain that was close to the empire. And by close, she meant about 10 miles away. And, they had to go in full gear. She smiled as the group, about 5 dozen, came into the room. The Noble stood up, but none of the soldiers stopped to talk to them, they just walked past very rudely. The girl frowned, cross her arms and sitting down on the sofa in the mai room with a 'hmph!' After the recruits had showered and were in good spirits, more began to join Mira in the common room. She was liked by everybody here, as she was very freindly and charismatic. Food was brought to the room, and the army members began to eat and play games of checkers and chess, or just lounge around and talk. She was talking to some of the other girls by a small table in the corner, before excusing herself and movign to the front of the room, by the general. The general was much taller than her, as she was just a teenager, but she could easily best the General in combat. She strode to the center, and began to speak up. "Okay everybody, get rested up as best as you can, because in exactly one hour and fifteen minutes, you guys will be moving out towards the training battlefield for practice in a combat situation." There was a series of cries of "yes Mam!" and the recruits began to move into the dorms to prepare. Mira moved outside, where she sat on a bench about ten meters from the door of the Barracks. She would be leading this excericse, and, unknown to the General even, she had secret orders from Kria to look for potential in the soldiers. They needed officers in this war that was brewing.

Rainii. That was the name that had been given to the azure eyed boy. Maybe it was some sort of sick joke because of his birthplace, or maybe they just figured with a life as shitty as his, thats the only mindset he will ever be in. The reasons didn't matter. Rainii was never one to dwell on things. He was charismatic and fast-paced. Frasnkly, he loved his name. It made him feel comfortable. He loved the rain, so why not like it as a name? Rainii wanted to stand out, but among whom? The common peoples of the water empire? That was to easy. No one respected you for that. They just called you eccentric or weird. No. Rainii wanted military excellence. He knew how fortified the barracks of the military was. He would watch the guard patterns day by day, looking for his chance. All he had to do, was make it to a higher up. He knew he could impress his way into the army, if he could just get a word in, but for a "Harmless" beggar like him even being considered for such an army was nigh impossible. Rainii found his chance on this snowy day. The white flakes of chrystallised water blanketed the already moist ground, like a great white blanket to put a great child to sleep. This was no place for children though. They didn't last long within the water empire, where the nobles were cruel, and stingy, and the poor were indifferent and uncaring. Seeing his chance, Rainii sprinted. He stood out quite well on the bright white canvas of a landscape, with his jet black locks and dark clothing. Not to mention his azure eyes that were so blue they practically glowed. Some say they could see his eyes even in the dark, like a blue beacon, searching for your every weakness. He sprinted, faster than most average people. He just barely made it past before the next guard went on to duty. He ran directly past the girl sitting on the bench, as if she werent even there. For whatever reason Rainii didn't even notice her sitting there. Now was the hard part. He had to get the two guards at the bottom of the stairs to leave, and he had to do it before the replacements made it for their shift change. He threw a small rock down by them. One of them looked up, but didnt see him or say anything. He tried again and this time the rock hit the metal door, creating a loud clang. The guards both looked up and started to run out, looking for the intruder. Rainii, having been behind them, but above, right on top of where the door would be, simply jumped down and opened the door. Immediately the guards heard it and shouted "INTRUDER!" It seems Rainii wasn't going to have an easy time. The door was already half open. It seems the door opened into the commons room, where many soldiers were gathered. Rainii was outnumbered, and obviously breaking the law, but there was no way he was going out without a fight. He grabbed the wrist of the fist that had just missed his face and twisted it so the bottom was facing up. He gripped tightly and swung the man over his shoulder, despite the man being much bulkier then himself. This effectively knocked the breath out of the guard, and snapped the arm that Rainii had twisted. He had twisted it so that the focal point of the elbow was facing the wrong way, so when the whole mans body weight became pressure exerted on the focal point, it would bend the bone the wrong way, and effectively break it. There was still one guard left though. Rainii wasn't sure how to handle this one. He seemed more like himself. Tall and wiry. So he let loose a fast, but weak punch for the mans face. The guard ducked quickly, just as Rainii had figured he would. Agility seemed to be the scrawnier peoples preference. Immediately Rainii let loose a strong kick into the mans side, which knocked him over and knocked the breath out of him. Rainii quickly sat on his stomach and punched him in the temple once to knock him out. He stood up quickly, ready to face the rest of the army that currently inhabited the commons room.

[[If I wasn't allowed to beat up the guards I can change it. owo
BTW I never saw it posted anywhere, but how exactly do we get more stat points? owo]]

((I dont know actually, Izuru didn't tell me. And the Barracks is not really supposed to be fortified. Its just a building surronded by the fence. You dont need to break in, and I doubt your charcter could sneak past with a noble right there.))

Mira was not amused. Some boy had just sprinted past her and charged into the Barracks, destroying most of the Guards in her path. She just simply walked into the room, the boy looked like he was ready to take on most of the army in there. That was not going to happen. She walked in sloppily, not really caring about stealth. She seemed to be much stronger than the boy. She unsheated both her swords, and quickly aimed a kick to the back of the boy's head. She did nto think that the boy could dodge her attack, and at the same time as she launched the attack, she began to say, "Alright kid, start talking. I want to know why your here, and who sent you." She assumed somebody had sent Rainii to try and sabotage the Water/Ice army, which would be hard with all the soldiers of at least his level.

Rainii had no false delusions of being able to beat anymore soldiers. There were simply to many, not counting the one he could easily hear walking up from behind. He was done for. As soon as Rainii heard the girls first step he turned around, so as not to be caught by surprise. She was fast. Very fast, but considering she wasn't taking Rainii by surprise, he was just able to dodge that kick that would have hit him in the face. He grabbed her leg as it went by his head. He wasn't going to do anything. This was more of, so she would stop trying to kick him, since he was prepared to speak in a civilized manner. "Nobody sent me. I'm just your everyday street rat." He told her quietly. This was a horribly stupid idea. Why did he ever do this? Who knew. Rainii was ********. In this situation he would either be killed or exiled for treason. Rainii seriously needed to think things through more. "I came here to join the army. This sort of raid wouldn't be necessary if your men out there would stop yelling at me and acting like I was a terrorist everytime I tried to act civilized and get in touch with a general of some sort." Rainii stated boredly. Putting the blame on soldiers was one way to go. That really was what had happened for the most part, but it may not have been that extreme. "All I've been trying to do these past few weeks is get an audience to join the military."

Mira watched as her kick was stopped, and she, almost by reflex, jumped off the ground with her other foot, turning so that her kick would be aimed at Rainii's head with a large amount of momentum. The noble wasn't fooling around this time. She used all the strength and speed she could possibly get in with the attack, which was alot. She attacked while the boy was talking, hopefully to catch him off guard. His motives seemed good, and he seemed quite sincere. She began to speak once again. "Okay then, we are also looking for new recruits, so if you look in the men's dorms, you will basic gear and manuals and all the crap that is issued. Since we have a battle practice starting soon, you can join that, I need to see how good you are in battle before I can really think about letting you join. Everybody has about an hour or so, so get moving!" And with that, the girl walked off, she went outside again, it was time to just wait a bit.

Rainii figured it would be better to just let the hit come this time. apparently, she didn't get that he emant no harm the first time. He sighed just as the blow connected, knocking his herad back sharply. He quickly regained his composure and glared at her with liquid fury. "Was that really necessary?" He demanded. "Good." He said to her offering to let him join. He stood up, with a sore neck, and walked towards where she had pointed out the mens dorms to be. Rainii followed the hallway down until he hit the dorms. The room was gigantic. Not the dorm room, but the dorms building. Ironically, his first thought was that it was big enough to hold an army. Rainii made his way around until he found an empty room. He entered to find a set of military fatigues laying on the bed. This set of fatigues, was all white, made for the cold weather. "Hmm... Not to shabby. Not as comfortable as my other clothes, but it will work just fine." He remarked. He put everything on, and looked around the room for anything else he might need. He found the manual that the girl had mentioned. He read the title "When fighting gets close." He read. It was a close combat guide. "Easy. I dont need this s**t." He remarked and threw the book onto the other cot in the room. He didn't find any weapons, but that didn't bother him. He was a very good hand to hanmd fighter, even if he truly shined with dual blades. He made his way back outside where the newer recruits were gathering for what Rasinii could only assume to be an initiation.

Mira chuckeled as her kick connected. That's waht happens when you deceide to barge into a army Barracks with a noble right behind you. He seemed to have some talent, but the next excerize was to judge that. She was now out on the same bench, and she took out her exact orders from Kira, which nobody knew about. What they basically said, was that the group was to perform a routine drill on the battlefield close to the barracks, so close that it only took about a minute to jog there. Mira was to watch from above, and select a few recurits and offer some further training in the Water/Ice army, and perhaps a promotion if they accepted and showed a very good amoutn of talent. After about an hour, Mira walked in, and the soldiers were called up. She started talking in a loud, commanding voice. "Okay everybody, today's drill is noe you have all done before, capture the flag. We are going to head over to the battle course, which, as you all known, is a series of trenchs dug into the ice forming a maze, and a new addition is a large platform above the maze that has blocks of ice about the size of fridges that make average cover if you decide to attack from up top. On the way out, you will pick are card from this hat, without looking, you will choose red or blue. You get a sash that you wear diagonally across your chest of that color, that is your team. You will be supplied with basic firearms with not-lethal bullets, and a large vareity of weapons that are dull, but they still hurt. Now let's move!" The soldiers gave cries of approval. not only was this game fun, but the winners always got a reward. They moved out, including Rainii, taking a random color, red or blue, out of the hat. They then quickly jogged to the course.

((Ill let you pick your color))

Rainii was always the sort of guy to go first, and so he had been the first outside, which also meant he got first pick from the hat. Of course, he picked blue. Not only was it his favorite color, but among the blue-white ice and snow, blue was much less noticeable than red. Even before the game started Rainii had thought it through thoroughly. Immediately after receiving the weapons, Rainii tossed his guns to the man behind him. "I wont need them. Good luck!" He stated. Rainii hated fighting with firearms. He had horrible aim, and they sort of ruined the whole thrill for him. Instead he held two short blades and multiple daggers. He could make do with that. He jogged along with the rest of the army towards the trenches until they made it. It wasn't an especially cold day for the empire, but it was always chilly. Rainii tightened his hood, and got prepared for the battle to come. He very loosely strapped the two longer blades at his sides, just under his jacket. He had knives hidden within his sleeves, and strapped to his legs. Other than the blue sash, Rainii wore only white clothing. All the cards were on his side, and he was going to use them.

Mira smiled as Rainii was the first one there. She was up on another platform, farther away, but she could still see both the trench and the platform above it. She frowned as Rainii gave his firearms to somebody else. That was not goign to get him anywhere. The boy would be full of holes before he got anywhere. The Blue team also had an advantage over the red team in visibility, so that is why the blue sahes where a dark shade of navy, still blue, but very close to black, and both teams stuck out like a sore thumb.

Both Teams began to move out in the trenches that were about 7 feet high, with corridors big enough for about three people to fight in with lots of room. The red team was taking a commando like approach at the bottom, hopign to sneak in and out with the other teams flag, but on the top, they were firing machine guns like crazy, and the blue team was getting beaten back fast. The blue team was taking a more balanced approached overall, and advancing slowly but surely, takign down multiple lines of the red team when confrontation was met at the bottom. but on the top, the blue team was in trouble.

((Just because I fee like, the standings are like this.

Blue: 75/100 people roughly
Red: 80/100 people roughly

The bottom is taken up roughly 60% by blue, 40% by red
The top is roughly 75% red 25% blue.))
