Journal "Well... I'm not so sure how it happened, but I have a stone now. It's a weird looking little thing... It almost looks like a chameleon. I swear to God, I see it changing colors, as if it were the real deal. But I must be dreaming. I already have so much going on already it wouldn't surprise me if I started imagining things. I don't even remember how I got the damn thing. I just woke up one morning and it appeared right by me. I do remember this weird dream I had, though... It was the night before the stone appeared. I don't recall where I was exactly, but I met two other Eilians: a ferret and a cornsnake, both Betzalels. They told me about these stones and about children, I think. This all confused me, because I had never heard of stones before then. Then they disappeared and I woke up with the chameleon stone in my hand. It's confusing and strange... but I suppose that it's my responsibility now. I just hope it doesn't become a pain."

Solo Belinda was at work, Llujah was holed up in his room, and Finnigan had not yet woken from his nap. That left Amitola to his own devices, which is exactly how he wanted it to be. It was a pain to have to share everything with his brother, and now was the perfect time for Ami to be all alone. His skin had turned a serene shade of blue as he curled up into a blanket and sat on the carpet, staring at the shows playing on the television. As he blankly watched the shows and colors fly by with a disinterested look, one sudden commercial suddenly caught his eye. It was an advertisement for a toy microphone that could record voices. Ami's eyes widened and he pressed his face eagerly against the flashing screen. That... looked... awesome! He needed to have that thing! Needed it! Now jittery with excitement, his scales turning orange and yellow with agitation, Amitola rushed into the kitchen and snagged the first piece of paper that he could find. After retrieving a bright green crayon, he quickly scribbled a note to his mother: "i want dis" along with a hasty, sloppy picture of a toy microphone. His message completed, the chameleon Betzalel grabbed a wooden spoon and sat back down in front of the television, singing into it like it was a microphone whenever a song began to play. As he did, he began to think how cool it would be if he sung songs all the time! How awesome that would be!
