kk, before my computer completely screwed over, I had a ton of information and story ideas in my computer. I've been taking a really sci-fi view of the future, and more importantly, genetic science. My world consists of humans and D-Mans, people who have their genetic code completely revamped into a large multitude of beings. Basically, this is during the time when people figure out how to manipulate DNA so well, that there have been experiments to see if the "Perfect Being" can be created, even if meant that it would use a mixture of human dna and ANIMAL DNA (even plants in some instances) so in this world, elves, beastmen, dryads, all of those things come from these experiments.
Here's my issue: Vampires. And, no I don't mean those types that sparkle like Stephanie Myers, kk?
I've been trying to think of a way of being able to put them in the stories. The farthest I've come up with is that they have a genetic disability in which they are very sensitive to light because of a UV allergy. So, they can travel as long as they are covered head to toe and stuff like that. I even came up with the reason why they like to drink blood... or at least, think I have an idea.
I remember this disease I read about in the book "1776", in which people would get severely violent and crave blood with an iron deficiency. I thought it was called poryphia, but I've looked for it... and so, far, nothing about it sweatdrop
Anyway, while I try and figure out what this thing is called, what do you think? does this sound alright? *hopefully, it's nothing like Twilight, but... yeah, I never read that book even though I need to at least try... sweatdrop *
So far, I haven't added any vampires in my story... but I know one character that'll work well with it, but still, my curiosity...
