She spent too much time on the borders. Often Jasisi had denied that fact, even to herself. It was important for Ghosts to do their jobs, and she felt responsible for the pride, and her part in it. But that was the thing, wasn't it?
She was hardly ever IN the pride, she admitted as she stepped into the pride area. More often than not she spent her time watching the borders, making sure no one came too close that she didn't know about. At least, that was part of the reason. To be honest, the mist like lioness thought, she felt more comfortable surrounded by mist than her own kind.
A tiny trickle of a memory made a smile pull at her lips. She hadn't always felt that way. But she did now, and that was what was important, she corrected herself quickly. The mist was as much a part of her as water was of any other living being. Maybe more.
But it also meant that she didn't know many of the pride members, she thought as she saw an unfamiliar face. Then another, and another, until she felt she had entered an entirely different pride altogether.
She definitely spent too much time on the borders.
