Viho didn't normally wander off on his own, no sir. Not since his two siblings got whisked away by his father. He always sought the company either of his mother or his aunt and cousins. He just didn't know anyone else in the pride that well, though that was his own fault. His mother often prompted him to go exploring but so far he had always declined and stayed close to her.
This morning though he had spotted a frog outside their den. It had a very interesting colouration and the cub had spent all morning trying to catch the thing, almost succeeding a couple of times. Then he lost it near a shallow body of water. It was actually very lucky that he did, because the reason the frog was so brightly coloured was because it was poisonous.
However there were a bunch of smaller ordinary frogs for him to chase. And now there he was, jumping in and out of the water, stretching his small paws for the amphibians.

Resting a top a log was Jua Kali, who was playing daintily with an already dead frog. It didn't much hold her interest, but it was something. Ears perked at the sound of the swamp waters splashing, her head snapped to the source, though she couldn't really see what he looked like, covered in swamp water. She squinted momentarily, but then decided it wasn't worth her effort. She shouldn't get involved with a boy so dirty, her mother might scold her. Rolling her eyes at the failed attempts to catch frogs, Kali smacked her own dead frog, aiming it right for the mud covered lion's face.
