It's a magazine, it has beautiful pictures and advertisements, and the best part are the SEWING PATTERS! There are two kinds, the original, which is from Japan, you can find them at SOME specialty Japanese stores, the kind that sells Jtoys, and phone straps. Or you can find them at Anime conventions and online.
The other kind is the kind that comes in English. It comes from TokyoPop and is based right off the original Japanese version. They're less expensive and SHOULD be easier to find, you can try and find them at Borders or Barns and Nobles. BUT they kind treat it like a magazine and run out of stock a lot, you can check TokyoPop for them, or online.

My Borders NEVER restocks the bibles, and I happened to be the one who bought all 4 they were selling. I still don't have the 2nd issue, which has the resizing from Japanese sizes of the patterns - anyone wanna scan it? XD
But I love those things endlessly.
My Borders throws them in with the anime and manga up in the tall books section. . . if that makes sense. It's all good :3 They can be hard to find, but when you do, it's worth it.

For the English version, go to Amazon.com and search for the Gothic & Lolita Bible, Volumes 1-5. For Japanese, you can find them on JList/JBox or Sasuga Books.

While I've seen the English versions of them at Borders, I was thinking of ordering them off Amazon myself. I think the measurements might have still been in metric, but it's not too hard to use the other side of the measuring tape.

Kittywitch While I've seen the English versions of them at Borders, I was thinking of ordering them off Amazon myself. I think the measurements might have still been in metric, but it's not too hard to use the other side of the measuring tape. Go with Amazon. You're less likely to get one that's missing pages [I've seen ones in bookstores with the inserts ripped out] or busted bindings. You can also save up to order them all together and get discounts and free shipping because of it.
All in all, win-win situation there.
