AIM Log -- Krysin & Felyn
Niyati, Do'al & Makri

A sweet, merry tune played in the air. It wasn't an entirely unpleasant sound, though if one had to listen to it for more than ten minutes it would quickly become irritating. A pink lioness, who looked as happy as one could possibly be, strolled through the roguelands at a leisurely pace, as if she did not have a single care in the world. Niyati didn't, not really. She was a relatively young lioness, vibrant in looks and in nature.

She paused, tilting her chin up to fix her gaze on the sky. It was a pleasant day, and that was why she was singing her little tune. Niyati couldn't remember where she had picked it up from. Maybe her mother had sang it to her when she was a cub, or maybe one of the friends she had made along her journey had taught it to her at her request. She had seen many faces, and couldn't quite be bothered to remember them all. What did they matter, really? She would never see them again, and they certainly might not like to see her again. It was better to forget them!

She levelled her head, looking out across the rogue lands. Oh! There was a form not too far from her, and Niyati so craved company. Company never seemed to like to stay long with her. She picked up her tune, quicker to match her increased pace. It looked familiar, that shape, so familiar that it struck a chord in her memory. It was a form that belonged to one of the name's she did care to remember. How could she forget this one?

"Makri, by the gods, that better be you! I will be disappointed, if not!"

Makri had her back to the seemingly chipper, bright lioness. She was, in fact, busier watching the land before her than she was the land behind her. Thus, when the lioness crept up behind her and that call rang out, Makri's head whipped around.

"Great," she muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowing slightly on the figure of Niyati as she approached. She had business to take care of she really didn't have time to waste on meet and greets.

"It took you long enough," she called back, turning her head back to stare at the lands in front of her. Honestly, Kip's visions were so ridiculously vague that she had no idea what she was supposed to be looking for. Something important? She let out a deep breath and waited for her sister to join her.

Niyati walked up to her sister's side, a clear pout defined upon the features of her face. Was that really how one greeted family? If Makri did not seem so busy, Niyati would have enjoyed telling her that it would have been more sisterly to give her a proper greeting. "I got distracted," she replied sweetly. Her tune had died off now that she was at Makri's side.

"...Really distracted?" she glanced to her sister, and followed Makri's gaze over the lands in front of them. "Whatever are you doing? This is hardly interesting." She didn't want to be bored within the first few minutes of seeing Makri again. "How about we go do something more interesting? All you're looking at is the same thing that's been there for years."

Niyati sat down, looking as bored as she felt. This surely wasn't the great family reunion that she had been envisioning.

Makri could have rolled her eyes right then and there, but that would have drawn her attention away from the duty at hand. Was there anything that Niyati wouldn't try to make about herself?

"I'm looking for something Do'al's mate sent me to find," she said, narrowing her eyes as if she actually saw something, but then sighed and simply shook her head, "but the problem with Kip is that she doesn't actually tell you anything."

Makri grunted to herself and sat down next to Niyati as if they had been doing this forever, like a well rehearsed routine. Sadly, Makri wasn't much for small talk, or this would be the part where she asked how her sister had been.

Luckily for Niyati, the less socially inept of the two siblings was just making his way out to keep dear Makri company. He knew just how much she enjoyed these missions he set her on. He certainly didn't want to go and waste his whole day on Kip's visions. He loved her with all his heart, but they were enough to drive him to insanity.

Much better to do that to Makri.

Only, as he was approaching, he noticed the figure of a pink lioness sitting next to her. It was with a small smirk that he recognized his younger sister, one he had not seen in quite a while. He sped his pace up and came up behind the pair. "Well, isn't this a lovely sight?"

"Do'al has a mate? He's here? Aww, why did you not tell me sooner?" she sounded honestly grieved that Makri had not supplied her immediately with information she would enjoy receiving. She loved her sister, as sisters usually did, but Do'al made to be much better company than her purple sibling. "I have really been gone too long - I miss everything," she whined.

Makri really had never made for great conversation, but Niyati decided to overlook it, and instead rested her head against Makri's shoulder. If she had felt in a more helpful mood, she would have pretended to try and find whatever Makri was looking for. But, one glance over the area told her that there was nothing of interest around, at least not to her eyes. "How are you supposed to find anything like this?" Ah, she didn't understand!

Her ears ticked at the familiar sound of her brother's voice, and immediately she was standing again, looking over her shoulder at Do'al. "Oh! There you are. Makri was just telling me that you were around here - and you have a mate! I better get to meet her. I can't believe you settled on a mate without going through me first. I'm the best at these sorts of things." She was certainly renowned for being talkative. Niyati was an animated lioness - every action she made was slightly exaggerated, but done with convinction.

She took the few steps needed to close the distance between herself and her brother, greeting him with an affectionate nuzzle before returning to Makri's side. "Have you found yourself a boy, sister?"

Makri listened to the banter that just shot right from Niyati's mouth, string and strings of words that never stopped. Makri often times wondered how on earth the girl managed to do anything but talk.

"Because I didn't think it was that important," she muttered in answer to Niyati's question, though her sister had, by this point, gone off to harass her brother. It was only as she turned her attention back on her suddenly that she realized whatever conversation she'd been having with Do'al had stopped abruptly (though one-sided conversations were barely conversations at all, really).

"I don't need a man," she said bluntly, making a great show of rolling her eyes at the thought.

"Don't harass her too much, Niyati," Do'al chuckled, a wicked smirk on his mug. He seemed to know something that Makri didn't, and whatever it was must have been funny. "You can meet Kip as soon as we get back to the watering hole we've temporarily set camp up by. She's been dying to meet you and I think Makri's done here anyway."

Do'al's smirk grew wider and his gaze settled on Makri, who looked mildly confused at the sudden 'cease and desist' order. Then he saw dawn breaking in her eyes and his smirk broke for a wicked chuckle to escape instead.

"Are you serious?" Makri nearly roared out, pushing herself up to her paws. "I've been sitting out here all morning waiting for our sister to show up?" She looked angry, though she did love her sister, so that was probably the main reason she hadn't lashed out violently.

"Of all the freaking cryptic missions to send me on," she muttered agitatedly under her breath, flicking her tail in anger. "Surely she had to have known even a little about this. This had to be some stupid game of hers." She did like Kip, really.

"Of course you don't," Niyati purred soothingly. The pink sister didn't think it would be so bad if her sister did find a man for herself. Though, in actuality, Niyati's stance on the 'mate' situation was similar to her sister's. She did not need a man, but that did not mean she wouldn't like one. He'd have to be able to survive being passed by Makri and Do'al, though. She thought it more humorous to imagine said imaginary mate failing.

"I am hardly harrassing her!" Niyati exclaimed with a small pout. She had only been curious, or would at least use that as an excuse. Catching the brief look on her brother's face, her curiosity certainly was piqued, but she took Do'al's advice and decided to let the subject lie. There were other things she could talk about, things that wouldn't irritate her sister (which was a hard thing to do).

"Oh, really? Then I think we should be on our way, she hasn't passed through my approval process..." It was then that Makri roared out, and though Niyati hardly understood what was going on between her brother and sister, she couldn't help but chime in a few sweet words.

"But why wouldn't you want to wait all morning for me to show up?" Niyati always had a knack for mustering up self-importance. She still didn't see why Makri was so upset, Niyati would wait all morning for her sister, if she had to. "At least you were not awaiting the arrival of a bird, or a warthog, or buffalo," she spoke again, voice mock-soothing.

"I think," came the announcement, "that I need to be filled in."

"Oh, I could think of a few reasons," Makri said through nearly clenched teeth. The fact that her sister was constantly trying to set her up with this male or that one wasn't even the top of that list probably. She just turned a leer from her sister to her brother in turn, looking impossibly irritated and absolutely grump beyond reason.

Really, the problem was simply that she had been tricked into waiting for a lioness that Do'al could have sent anyone in the troupe to come and find. She didn't really think that Niyati was that important.

Do'al's wicked little grin was growing and growing the more Makri was sulking. That devilish spark in his eyes was so bright that it was a surprise they hadn't started to glow yet. Just like any good older brother, he was taking pleasure in his younger sister's misery.

"It's nothing, really. Makri is just moody because she thought she was sent out here for some great and mysterious purpose," he cackled devilishly as he side-stepped to avoid a sweep of Makri's paw - he didn't even pause to check if the claws were unsheathed, just assumed they were. He walked around to Niyati's other side, glancing over at Makri with a smirk before he continued.

"My mate has visions of things sometimes and we send others out to do our bidding. Kepi saw you coming, but it was very vague." He shrugged a little, as if he it wasn't a big deal. It probably wasn't - at least if you were anyone but Makri.

Niyati could admit to herself that she was not some great and mysterious purpose, but it was amusing to no end that her sister was waiting for her to show up with that in mind. Sometimes, she really considered Makri the more unfortunate of the two. Her sister was downright moody, and while Niyati could have her own moments, for the most part she was happy. Looking at Makri, she had to wonder if her sister was happy as well. She suspected that the lioness was, but was expert at pretending not to be. What the would earn her, though, Niyati did not know.

"Well, I am great, and on occasion can be mysterious," Niyati purred. That was two out of the three things Do'al had been describing, which she considered to be good enough. Really, she believed that Makri should be thrilled that it was Niyati she had run into over some other creature, or nothing at all. Their reunion wasn't entirely joyous, but it certainly was what Niyati should have expected. They had always been a weird family - not the creepy weird, but rather in the way they functioned. Makri greeted her in a way that would make Niyati seem a nuisance and acquaintance, rather than a sister. She did not entirely mind.

"...Visions?" and now she was intrigued. She tilted her head at her red brother, as if viewing him from an angle would unravel the mystery of his female being a seer. "It's like you to bind yourself to an interesting lioness, at least. I don't think I could have expected any less. At least she does not foresee mundane occurrences."

Makri simply leered at her siblings from where she sat, obviously content to hold a grudge against the powers-that-be for wasting her entire day. She could have been hunting, or recruiting, or something. Instead Kepi and her visions had sent her to wait for someone that didn't need an escort.

Especially since their brother had shown up anyway.

She was sure he'd known all along.

"Well, it was lovely wasting my day under the hot sun but I'm going to go make the most of what time I have left while you fill our dear sister in on whatever mysterious purpose she's serving."

She didn't wait for them to comment, simply stormed off in the direction of camp, scowling under her breath the whole way.

Do'al knew instantly what Makri was going to do - go chastise his mate. He would have cared if Makri didn't attempt to fuss at someone every other minute, or if Kepi was the type of lioness that would take it to heart.

His eyes swiveled back down to his brighter sibling and he simply smiled that same, devilish Do'al grin.

"I would never settle for someone mundane, you know that." He chuckled a little and nodded his head in the direction that Makri had just stormed off towards. "But she's eager to meet you, especially since her sight brought us here to intercept.. wherever you were headed. She thinks you're important, though maybe just because there's strengths in numbers."

He smirked to himself and glanced sidelong at her again. "I guess that does make you mysterious, hm?"

"The day isn't over yet," she chastised playfully, but her sister was already turning away. Niyati chuckled as Makri stormed off, soft enough as to not draw her sister back to her side. She really didn't want to get an earfull from Makri after only being in the dark lioness' presence for not even an hour. She was sure that later she'd hear enough from her sister, and that was enough to warrant her allowing Makri to have a 'hissy fit' and walk away. They could always catch up later, because while Niyati was a wanderer at heart, she'd always make time for family. It was always a pleasant surprise when she happened to run into one of them. She did have to wonder where her other brother was, who at times could be more to her liking. Then again, for the most part she preferred Do'al's company. He could even be impish, at times, which made for far more interesting company.

"It'd make things too easy for Makri to show you up with a more spectacular mate." While Niyati liked the idea of her siblings being tied up, she did not fancy the idea when it came to herself. She rather enjoyed a free lifestyle, and while boys could be handsome, they could be startlingly dull. "You know me, I was heading where I was heading," she answered loftily. A smile flicked across her maw. "I think I'll like her. She has the good sense to know I've been wanting to see you all again, and the good sense to realize I'm the best of the brood."

Niyati laughed appreciatively, "I'm always mysterious!"

"The day Makri ever finds a male she'd rather love than kill is the day the world ends," he laughed openly at the thought, trying to imagine just what it would take to tame the violent lioness. "I don't think I ever have to fear her showing me up like that." His sisters had a lot in common in their love of many lions but then, so did he with the ladies. Kepi just didn't care and that certainly suited him. One of the many reasons they got along.

"Kepi has more knowledge than I could fathom," he admitted, but his jovile laughter had calmed to a charmed, appreciate smile. He looked thoughtful, and borderline love sick if not simply in total admiration. Whatever she was capable of, it clearly got along with Do'al.

"She sees great things for us, Niyati, for all of us." He turned his head towards the horizon with that power hungry gleam in his eye. They'd been making plans and now Niyati was there to help fulfill them. It was going to work out.

"You'll see," he said at last, before picking up his pace and leading his sister to the camp that had become home. For now.
