"Wowwies wow WOW!" The teen exclaimed, clapping her hands together in excitement. "Lookit that! It's so pretty!" Jaella stood at the railing, the only barrier between her and the pretties, bouncing excitedly as a large jet of water went swirling into the air. "I wish we could do that at home! It looks like it'd be UBER SUPER FUN!" The small flower child beside the girl looked up at her a moment before looking back to the water, shaking her petaled head. Sometimes, she really wondered about her furry-eared companion. Irena leaned against the railing, watching as streams of water, colored by LED lights, danced and flew across the giant fountain that had been constructed. Ah, the beauty of water choreography. Jaella either didn't notice her little flower's head shake, or didn't care. She watched the syncronized water jets, happily munching away on the huge bag of Skittles she'd brought with her.

Somewhere from the crowd watching the display, a small girl appeared, having moved a bit to find a better vantage point. Her skin was dark and her hair was long and orange - which would be familiar to most people who knew the Azoulai twins (but Jaella's not most people so who cares?)
She seemed to not at all acknowledge Irena and Jaella as she squeezed between them to see the show. Emery may have no emotional connection or attraction to it, but she was watching it and desired (as much as one like her could desire) to have the best view.
Strangely, she didn't hold the railing at all, instead clutching a large tome to her chest.

Jaella blinked as a little one moved between her and her flowery friend. She stared at the little one a moment...she looked REALLY familiar. Oddly so. Maybe they'd met before? "Hi there!" the purple haired teen greeted, offering a sunshiny grin to the little one. "I'm Jaella. What's your name?" she asked, curious.
Irena looked at the little girl, then at Jae. Seriously, she couldn't see the resemblance? The Lyte facepalmed; the purple-haired girl never ceased to amaze her.

The yellow eyed tot looked up at her for a moment to see who was speaking before returning her attention to the show. "I'm Emery. It is nice to meet you." for a toddler, she was well spoken but her voice was a monotone, and she lacked much feeling in her words.
"Are you watching the show too?" her mother had trained her to be polite, after all.

Jaella smiled, looking back to the water. "It's nice to meet you too!" she chirped cheerfully. "And yep! Me and Irena came to see the pretty water. It's so amazing!" The was emphasized by a clap of her hands. "I wonder how they do it....hey, that's a pretty big book you've got there." The purple-haired teen grinned. "Are there any good stories in there?" A book that big and cool looking HAD to be a story book!
Irena looked around; where were the little girl's parents? Or any adult supervision, for that matter. Because she, for one, did NOT want to get stuck as the "grown-up" of their little area here.

"They do it with magic." Emery said assuredly, though it really wasn't the case. "Yes, many stories. Stories for everyone." Because to her, telling about how someone dies is a story in it's own right. Even if the end could be considered tragic.
About this point, Marie came out of the crowd after her daughter. "Emery, I told you not to dash off without telling me first." this gained a nod from the child and not much more. "Well be nice to these people if you are talking to them." Marie added with a shrug, going to stand behind her daughter.

Jaella grinned, clapping her hands together. "That is SO AWESOME!" she squealed in an enthusiastic ziraleet. "And that is amazing! Where'd you find an awesome story book like that? The library?" She looked over at Marie, smiling and waving. "Hi!" she greeted cheerfully. The more the merrier, apparently.
Irena let out a sigh of relief; thank gods above for parental appearance. She relaxed against the rail, watching the water display in earnest now. No more worrying for her.

"I was born with it." Emery answered with a nod. "Do you want to see?" she offered, holding it out. "You have to be careful - you're not allowed to drop it or I will be upset."
Marie pat her daugther's head and smiled at Irena, "Hope she hasn't been too much for you." she commented to the flower person.
(OOC: so random idea - if Jaella WERE to drop the book, do you think Emery'd have emotions for the time she didn't have it - not like it being handed off but very physically separated from her. Maybe leaving her distressed or horrified? Just hypothetically)

Jaella looked amazed. People could be born with books? AWESOME! "I'd love to see it." she said, smiling brightly as she accepted the book. "I'll be very careful." She opened the book, expecting to see an awesome picture or pretty words. But.... "It's blank." the teen said, confused. Maybe it was a journal or something? And then, she did the one thing she had been trying not to do.... she dropped the book. "Oops! Sorry!"
Irena would have smiled, had she had a visible mouth. Instead, her eyes crinkled a little in an implied smile. She shook her head; the girl wasn't much trouble at all. At least not as much trouble as she originally feared she might be.

Emery's eyes widened visibly at this and she screamed in terror. Unlike her previously calm and relaxed demeanor, now the child was a nervous wreck and promptly grabbed onto the bar of what they were standing on to jump off and retrieve her book.
"Emery!" Marie shouted, dashing forward, but too late to stop her little girl from landing with a thud on the ground and grabbing her book from one of the jets of water before it began to shoot again.

Jaella was definitely caught off guard by the sudden scream. "Oh my gosh!" she gasped out as the little one vaulted herself over the guard rail. Without a second thought, she jumped over as well. She had to make sure Emery wasn't hurt! "Are you okay?" she asked, moving towards the girl.
Irena sighed. Leave it to Jaella, the silly, silly girl. She looked over the rail, watching the little scene.

Emery nodded, standing and clutching her book. Her face was back to it's cold manner and she looked almost annoyed, if that was possible. "I told you not to drop it." she stated and curtly walked back towards the bleachers. Her mother had just rushed down to find her, so Emery went to sit by the woman, completely quiet and watching the show. Whatever had just happened, she'd prefer not to talk about it.

The purple-haired teen's ears drooped a little as she looked down at her feet. "I'm sorries...." she murmured, feeling so guilty. "I didn't mean to." She slunk back to her spot by Irena, tail dragging limply behind her. She felt so bad; whatever dropping the book had done had to have been pretty bad.
Irena patted Jaella on the shoulder before looking over to Emery. She fished around in her little purse before pulling out a paper towel, holding it out to the girl. While it couldn't dry everything, it'd be better than nothing, right?

Emery carefully took the paper towel and nodded to Irena. "Thank you." she stated before carefully toweling off the book. There was such precision to it and such winces when things didn't properly dry, it was almost as if the book being soaked actually hurt her physically. That or she really had been hurt from the jump and didn't say anything.
"Sorry about that. Emery's odd about her book." Marie explained.
