Those of us dedicated pokemon fans and/or longtime members of this guild know to check Serebii.net for all our Pokemon needs.

Well today, the news has come. The word shall spread. Another mystery of the 5th Generation revealed...

I give you....the 3DS!!! *No picture at the moment... sweatdrop *

That's right, another brand new handheld system from Nintendo is in development and it's existence has been revealed. What is known so far is that it will display full 3D graphics without the need for those 3D movie glasses (hence the name), and like all the others, shall have backwards capability for DS and DSi games. More information will be revealed during the E3 convention in june, but for now, feel free to share your thoughts, come up with theories, or simply spaz your heart out about it here.

Aren't we lucky to have Serebii?

I believe it was already said that the 5th generation Pokemon games would be released on the DS/DSi. Not to say that the 3DS wouldn't be able to play such things but it's not really tied to the 5th generation in anyway from what I hear.

For those who want proof of this "3DS": http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/en/index.html

How would it project 3D images without the glasses? wouldn't that mess up eyesight?
i kinda like how HGSS is set up now >.<
all they gotta do is make the people lifesize (well taller than what they look like now) and maybe provide a first person view of things? xD

The technology has already been demonstrated on t.v.s the problem with that technology though is it's not very versitile. You have to be looking straight at it and if you look from weird angles it looks weird.

for a PSP that would be just fine, for a DS where you have 2 screens, I don't know exactly how well that will work since I like to have mine at funny angles, but for most people it'd probably be fine.

For such a small screen it'd be easy enough to pull off just not for big screens in group situations. The technology is already available.
