I was wondering if anyone here worked with Faeries and did anything of the sort. I was really looking into it, and bought a book by Edain McCoy that is like a guide book to faeries for witches.

I have been wondering about that as well. I'm not sure where to start as far as books go. :/

For working with the Fae or Sidhe, I'd suggest developing a strong connection with the natural environment. It'll help put you on somewhat even ground with them, so that way they'll trust you more, or at least it'll give them a reason to trust you. Offerings usually work well as it also helps gain some trust. I know I'm emphasizing on trust, but by experience and word of mouth, the Fae tend to have serious trust issues that also makes them notorious for being tricksters (especially for random passerbys and irresponsible dabblers, but some Fae can also be plain mean) and having a lot of involvement with children (according to some legend). Why children? Besides the idea they can be easily distracted, they tend not to know any better, so its an easy physical human friend (or prey) to make because of the lack of intentional harm. Overall experience: depends on the Fae. Random encounters will vary, so while presenting yourself as a kind individual, be alert as well. As far as the topic of 'faery witchcraft' is concerned (like utilizing their energies in a circle and such), I personally don't include them because of the fact they can make up their own mind (a personal will issue), and they might find some few reasons not to like me or anything I do. I think if you really have to include the Fae, be careful and just involve the ones that are seriously willing to help you out. I've looked over McCoy's book a few times, but I wasn't really compelled to buy it. I'm more of a "Im gonna experience things the really hard way and go from scratch" kind of person.

I wish I was like that. I need diretions for everything!!! razz
I bought a faery statue. Its so pretty :] I am thinking of putting her in my garden, but I don't think that I can even have a garden this year because of my new puppy, who loves to chew. I wouldn't want to lose my statue. I already lost 2 pairs of slippers, stuffed animals, the kids lost their toys >.<
She will chew ANYTHING! The couch, blankets, shoes, her toys, bones. anything she can get her teeth around :[

Unless you put her somewhere high up, like on top of some kind of short column in the middle of your garden... well, unless your dog tries to chew her down. LOL. Good luck with training your puppy.

What are some good authors or books that could be recommended for the faerie/faery path?
