Alright. Dath was ready for another amusing interaction with a mortal. He had toned his involvement with them a bit, but mostly that was because half the time he ended up killing them when he got bored. And after a while, well, other gods would really take notice (on top of everything else he's done?). Wouldn't it be fun to wipe out an entire pride, though? Man, he would make his mark forever in doing that!

Amused with his thoughts, he wandered aimlessly, blatanly showing off his awesome-godness. And although he was showing it off, he wasn't really paying any attention to anything around him. And why would he? There wasn't a soul in the world stupid enough to attack him! Well, one that was a mortal, anyway.

"Hmm, would that really work, though?" he thought, twisting around his plan idly. If he killed everyone, then who would be around to tell the stories of how he did it? "No, that's wouldn't do," he grumbled. Maybe let a couple young ones go? They'd remember it for the rest of their lives, and surely share it with whomever they'd cross. Yeah! That would work. He was so absorbed in his stupid plans, it would be simple enough to just...

Makri was irritated - extremely irritated.

Her leg hurt from the stupid injury she had sustained a few days ago, despite the fact that it was healing. She'd tracked down an annoying, stupid healer from that odd pride that was always going on about hearing voices. He'd been reluctant to help after she'd snapped at him, but whatever the case, he'd eventually done so. Now she was sporting an odd wrapping of leaves on that leg, underneath which was a paste he had slathered on.

It had stung, and it smelled a bit. He was lucky she hadn't hit him.

Now she was resting, comfortably reclined underneath an old tree, but grumpily staring at a herd of deer as they ambled in the distance. She wanted to hunt and take her anger out on something but she knew enough to curb her pride and take it easy like the green idiot had told her. If she made the injury worse, she'd be wasting even more time like this.

It was only as a large, red hulking lion came into view that she felt her spirits take a bit of a turn. She couldn't hunt, but maybe she could take her frustrations out otherwise. As he got closer, she heard him talking to himself, and despite the wings on his back (where the hell were all these gods coming from?) she decided to make a jab at him.

"Did you stay too long in the Kizingo lands?" she called out. Only crazy lions talked to themselves, anyway.

"Huh?" Dath pulled himself out of his thoughtful state and back into reality. Wow, where was he? How long had he been wandering around? This certainly wasn't where he started...whenever it was he had started. Hmm, that must mean that this plan of his was ingenious, and something he would have to carry out!

But hey, that could wait. He grinned, his eyes falling on quite a lovely lioness. It had been a while, anyway, and surely he was used to getting his way.

"Well, hello to you too," he smirked. "And if you use the term crazy as brilliant, why yes, then I'll have to agree." He made his way over there, 'flexing' his wings a little as his jewelry caught small bits of the sun's rays in their gems. Oh yes, he was lookin' handsome today.

She watched him approach, and her good spirits immediately plummeted. Did gods always have to act so arrogant? If she hadn't been roughed up by the b***h of a goddess just days before, she probably would have growled at him in warning. In any case, he certainly wasn't helping her opinion of the winged fools.

"No," she said rather bluntly once he was withing hearing range, "I use the term crazy exactly as it sounds." She didn't even bat an eye as she turned her gaze up to stare at him better, her markings helping to contribute to a snarling demeanor without her actually having to do so.

"Those are kind of distracting," she commented, flicking her tail, "and blinding." She nodded her head to the unnecessary jewelry on his wings, by no means trying to compliment him. Then again, she was actually trying to make sure she didn't let her tongue get carried away, so he might misinterpret.

Ohoho! This was going to be quite a fun game, he could tell already. Sure, she looked quite like the rough one, trying to play tough and get by with her sour personality and demeanor, but Dath wasn't going to let that dissuade him. Not just yet. He liked things rough, and she was certainly putting up the kind of fight that he liked.

Time to whip out all those horrible lines that he enjoyed so much. Nothing was more entertaining than trying to see what would either win over a female, or piss her off straight to hell. It didn't matter to him; if it got too hairy for him to deal with, he could vanish, and they could deal with their grumpy moods all on their own. Some would call it running away, but Dath never actually ran away. He would just cloak himself and enjoy a good, usually foul-ridden show.

"Oh, but you're quite the same," he mused, that sly grin still on his face as his tail curled with delightful glee. Oh, this was fun.

Great. She was talking to an imbecile. Was he trying to woo her? Well, he was certainly underestimating her because Makri was certainly not some brainless idiot that fell for hulking meatbags like him. In fact, Makri chose who she wanted to play with and he certainly didn't fit the bill.

"What does that even mean?" she said with a quirk of her brow, staring at him flatly. She had no idea what he was babbling about, but it just sounded like he was talking out of his a** to her.

"You're not going to provide very stimulating conversation," she muttered half to him, half to herself, sighing irritably. Maybe she'd just go talk to Kip - even if she was crazy, at least she was interesting and as sincere as she could manage.

Wha.....what? What the hell? He felt his mood plummet immensely in that single moment. What the hell was she even talking about?

His smirk soured into a scowl, and his tail lashed behind him. "Great going," he grumbled. "Not the smartest idea to piss me off." He had been tempted to call her names, but well, then it wouldn't be any fun at all. "If you're just going to ignore the game, you're going to have to put up with the consequences."

He flashed his paws for a moment, giving them one quick lookover before his attention was drawn back to her. The face markings that reflected back at him were striking, and honestly something he hadn't paid any attention to until now. Ah, so she had her own defense mechanism, hm? Well, there wasn't anything that scared him away; he just liked to make them believe that he was scare-off-able at times.

"I don't play games," she said boredly, glancing down at his paws as if she could honestly care less how intimidating he was trying to be. Inwardly, she remembered the goddess, however, and had to wonder what he could really do without even the bat of an eyelash. "Especially senseless ones with no point."

She pushed herself to her paws, not-so-carefully concealing a wince - it shined brightly on her face before she managed to shove it away. "If you want to play games, go find an airheaded lioness that has nothing better to do with her time. I certainly couldn't care less for stroking a god's ego just to make him play nice with me."

She narrowed her eyes on him slightly, all too aware that her brash tongue was likely to get her another injury or worse, but she just couldn't tolerate this 'holier than thou' attitude that these gods seemed to ooze at every turn. Were they really that much better than mortals? This one didn't seem to live up to the standards, in her opinion.

He sneered, "Oh darling, you should always play my game. Because if you don't play by the rules, I get to have my way with you." And he was always up for a little roughing around, and not always in the sexual way. He was quite content with a beating, a strung out death, or even a quick one. He had fun killing a little poor leopard that thought she could claim the land as her own, Hah! Now this one was claiming that there was no game to play.

Certainly she would want to play? As it was, she was in need of a handicap, with that injury crippling her currently.

"Though I fear, if you keep that attitude towards those that can snuff your life out in a heartbeat, it will catch up to you one day." He stretched his wings out, half for impact, and half just because they needed a good stretch. And they were always the easiest thing to remind a mortal just how much of a disadvantage they had.

"I like the dark of night," he grumbled, his voice deep and serious.

"You don't get to do anything," she said with a sneer of her own, narrowing her eyes on him, "and I certainly don't fear death enough to just play your game because you tell me to." She let her tail lash behind her for emphasis, finding that his pompous attitude was doing a good job of pissing her off whether she wanted to remain calm or not - she did have a short fuse, after all.

"Nothing is going to catch up to me that I can't handle," she brought her chin up a little, though she was completely aware of the way she favored her injured leg while standing. "My brother killed a goddess - what have I to fear of your kind?"

His last sentence cut her anger short, however, and her sneer and narrowed eyes faded to leave a sort of irritated confusion. "I'm happy that you like the night, but I don't see how that has a damn thing to do with anything." She sighed and shook her head. "You gods and all your pompous babble."

He grinned. Oh, how she knew where to push his buttons, he didn't know. Still, he wanted her, and not in a way more commonly thought. He wanted that fear, that respect. As he wasn't in a mood to really fight for it today, he would take this little nicks, the attempts to bring down his ego. It was delightfully amusing, how she acted like she was so much better than him. If only she realized how final death was for her, and how liberating it was for him. That is, if anyone could kill him.

He let a little of his power flow out from his body; he defaulted to a common parlor trick, his favourite one to play by. He slowly let his feet envelop in the black flames, the illusion licking at his legs hungrily. He enjoyed this, enjoyed being feared in a different sort of way. One that was filled with...a little more energy.

"I have nothing to fear of your brother. A goddess is nothing compared to a true god," he spat with a wicked grin, as sexist as he always was.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 03, 2010 11:49 pm

There it was, a small flash of fear reflected in her eyes as she glanced down at the flames. No mortal could pass an eye at those and claim to be truly unaffected - they were unnatural. Do'al, perhaps he could have kept his stone face and composure, but where Do'al had wit Makri was blessed with more primal advantages.

She did manage to gather herself, only betrayed for the briefest of moments, and narrowed her eyes in an attempt to hide all her flaws. Her claws dug at the earth and she stared up at his eyes, feeling a small wrath wash over her at his blatant sexism. Still, she wouldn't defend a goddess' honor - especially not a dead one.

"You're all the same," she hissed under her breath, lashing her tail to accentuate her words, "winged abominations the lot of you." She sneered slightly at him, aided by her naturally sneering markings. "You have your fancy tricks, but you are just as weak as us mortals in the end. You still bleed and feel pain, oh great god."

Dath laughed. It was too fun! He was almost tempted to hide himself, to follow her for a while, see just how strong she pretended to be. Pretending, indeed. He was no fool, at least not as much as she thought he was. Hey, it was her fault, she was the one that turned him down.

He loved his black illusion flames, and kept the vision tight. It always got just the right emotion out of his prey, even if they did their damnest to hide it.

"Oh, my dear, pain is all good and well. I always deserve a little pain before a kill," he mused, almost purring in delight. A feminime move, but he was too full of devious joy to even care at the moment. "And the scent of blood only makes one like me desire more."

She'd had enough of this, honestly. She'd had enough of his babble and enough of his bullcrap. She was going to go back to her brother, curl up, and sleep. She was also fairly good at pretending that she was leaving only because she was tired of his games, not because he was slightly unnerving.

Of course this had nothing to do with the fact that he was more powerful than her, how preposterous!

"You can leave now," she said, barely managing to keep her teeth from clenching or her eyes from narrowing. If he'd been anyone else, she would have attacked him without a second thought. However, even if Do'al had brought down a goddess, even if she thought little of this mysterious race of 'superiors', she wasn't stupid. Reckless, but not stupid.

"Actually, you know what? I think I'll just leave and spare you the trouble." She snorted through her nose as she turned to her left and began to walk off, managing to conceal her limp as best as possible. Kip hadn't said anything to her about dying today - at least that gave her the confidence to turn her back on the ominous b*****d.

He smiled, his white teeth flashing as they picked up bits of sunlight between the black flames. "Oh, I will sweetheart," he purred, feeling absolutely amazing. He forgot how thrilling it was, the friction between someone else, the taunting, the anger. It was maddening how much he enjoyed it.

"Perhaps I'll find you again," he laughed. "You're fun to play with, all talk and no play. Perhaps we'll really get something going next time. Exchanging of just words is boring, no?"

He watched her start to leave, he sniffed at the air. It wasn't much fun, not being the one to leave first, but he would deal. He always did, because it was always fun.

"Goodbye," he cackled, and disappeared.
