Laini: (11:51:24 AM): "No, Jicho, come back!" The merry sounds of a cub broke through the harsh silence of the Savannah, as the small Goddess chased after her bat familiar. The bat was streaming through the air, an amused grin on his face as he kept himself in the air with the odd flap of his wings, just too far ahead for the Godling to catch. And, y'know, he was in the air, a place she hadn't managed to reach yet with her wings being too small. Laini hadn't yet learnt to disguise herself yet, either. Or more, she had, but she didn't see the point in it, all her meetings so far having been with pleasant creatures who wouldn't dream of hurting a poor, innocent little Goddess like her. Not even with her disability, the pale, faded colour of her eyes making that clear enough. Jicho made the odd chirp as he flew, making it clear to Laini which direction to run in, and she'd since learnt that her hearing could be a useful tool also, the subtle flapping of his wings also allowing her to follow. But of course, should anyone be watching, she wouldn't have a clue.
Jelani: (12:13:45 PM): To say the least, he wasn't in the best of moods. It had been three days since his encounter with the pink-pelted goddess governing the domain of truth. The thing had annoyed him... it had been startling enough that she'd requested, nearly demanded, that he ended her life. It was an insult that she didn't allow him to have any fun in the process. There was no honor in a willing kill. No spot, no thrill. He moodily swiped at a small rock that stood in his path, sending it flying into a cluster of dry grass. He'd at least found some substance in his kill, so there was no need to spend his time chasing after herds of witless prey beasts. He paused. The rattle of grass continued, long past his pebble's fall. Narrowing his eyes, the massive male lifted his head and scanned the surrounding terrain. A flash of brown followed soon by a pair of colorful wings peaked over the blades. He strained his single remaining good eye, watching in silence. He couldn't possibly be -that- lucky...
Laini: (12:21:48 PM): Laini merely continued giggling as she bounded along, unaware that she was now being watched. Jicho, usually acting as the lookout to protect the vulnerable, naive youngster, himself had failed to notice Jelani, too busy watching as the blue Goddess behind him seemed to be tiring, tongue lolling out of her mouth as her pace slowed. Laini was getting tired, and took a few more bounds before coming to a stop, sitting herself down and tucking her wings into her body, panting. "Is there any water, Jicho?" she asked between breaths as she flopped down onto her front, head in her paws as faded, blind eyes glanced upwards, at the area she presumed Jicho was. ...He wasn't, she was just staring at space. A chatter came in response, indicating no. She whined, rather loudly too.

Jelani: (11:00:58 AM): He watched, amused, as the goddess dropped to her belly to rest. Like his own tribe, the goddess had saddled herself with a creature. It seemed the number of lions he encountered without some kind of totem became less and less. His good eye narrowed as she rolled her eyes upwards. Blind? She was blind? I can't be this lucky... He mused, taking a few quiet steps forward.
Laini: (11:04:50 AM): Laini sighed loudly, head flopping into her paws as blind eyes fluttered shut, the cub deciding to just rest for a little bit. They could go find water later, but right now she was tired. She could teleport to God's Haven, there'd be water there, wouldn't there? Sighing, too tired to bother at the moment, Laini remained where she was, quite content to just...rest. Jicho, meanwhile, had spotted Jelani when he'd started moving. At first he'd just glared, landing carefully on the Goddess' back, but when the lion took his second step the bat began to chatter loudly, causing Laini to jerk her head upwards and glance around in blind panic. "What's wrong? Jicho, who's there!?"
Jelani: (11:07:39 AM): Little pest... As he was announced by the winged rodent, the lion slowly stood himself upwards and offered a poisen-coated smile. "Oh did I startle you?" The male rumbled pleasantly, "Seems I've upset your friend, my apologies..."

Laini: (11:09:20 AM): Laini scrambled to her feet, whole body rotating to face the stranger's voice, eyes open and blindly shuffling around to try and find where to pretend to focus. "Who're you? ...What do you want?" she whined, ears flattening against her head and wings flattening agaisnt her back. Jicho didn't stop chattering, only continuing. He didn't trust this lion.
Jelani: (11:12:01 AM): "So frightened." He lifted a paw and waved absently into the air. "So rude... what are they teaching cubs these days? Before you demand something like that, it's good form to introduce yourself." He took a few more steps forward, ears rolling forwad. "My name is Jelani...and I have a bit of a problem that perhaps you might be able to help me with..."
Laini: (11:16:31 AM): Frightened? Rude? ...Wait, what? Faltering, her forehead creased in confusion as she took a shaky step backwards. Introduce herself? But he hadn't introduce himself! Jicho had since stopped chattering, instead a strange, rumbling, growling-like sound emitting from the bat as he glared at the stranger. "I-I-I'm Laini," she managed to stutter out, eyes managing to focus somewhat on Jelani, a little to his left but not too badly. "T-This is Jicho. I...w-what do you want?"
Jelani: (11:22:18 AM): "Shuddering is hardly becoming of a lady, even one so young as yourself. Speak with purpose, have some pride." He chuckled quietly. He took another two steps forward, bringing him within paw's reach of the godling. "Well you see... I used to be quite important to my pride... they're all scattered to the winds now. When I was a younger lion, I was cursed. I've not been the same since- be grateful for your condition, I have the misfortune of frightening those I meet with my appearence." He tipped his head. "And I thought to myself... if a god cursed me... perhaps a god could help me. I've tried nearly everything...."

Laini: (11:29:40 AM): Stuttering, lady, purpose, what? Laini was confused, she'd never been spoken to like this before. Papa Pala was always really nice to her and telling her how special she was, and all the other creatures she'd met had been really nice and helped her try to find her mommy. ...She didn't want to ask this lion if he'd help. He was strange, and something told her not to trust him. She was confused. Condition? He knew she was blind? Jicho gave a slight squeeze of his feet on her back and the young Goddess obeyed, shuffling a couple of steps backwards. Curses? What were they? The naive Godling took another step back, whining softly, "I...I don't understand."
Jelani: (11:37:33 AM): "You see... I used to be a prince. The heir to my pride. I think it's only fair that you know a little bit about me before... well." He chuckled. "Anyway, as part of our passing into adulthood, we had to travel out and find a creature, tame it, and return to our pride. If you were sucessful, you were blessed by the spirits. I, sadly, failed. I lost flesh, blood, and I was cursed as a result. Rejected..." He took a few prowling steps forward, his claws slowly unsheathing themselves from his velvety paws. "I've tried everything to lift this curse... I hear voices... the only thing I've not tried just yet... is the blood of a god!" With that, the male errupted forward, throwing a paw outwards, claws outstretched.
Laini: (11:45:48 AM): He was talking to her, but she didn't understand. More squeezing from Jicho's feet told her to shuffle backwards more as she listened, but it didn't make sense. Why was he telling her this? What did he want from her? She didn't know how to do anything, she couldn't even fly! More shuffling back, more shuffling back. Jicho had begun chattering again, trying to seem intimidating and scare the lion away, since Laini was failing in that aspect. Blood of a god!? Suddenly he was on top of her and Laini screamed, trying to claw at whatever she could reach in an attempt to get him off of her. It hurt, his claws were in her skin and his weight was on top of her, and she wasn't exactly a large cub. Screams turning to strangled cries turned to whimpers, before a strange power seemed to rise in her. Before she knew what was happening, a burst of energy had escaped her, flowing into Jelani, snatching his sight from him before returning to Laini, giving it to her instead. Needless to say, suddenly gaining a sense you'd never previously had was upsetting, and the cub screamed again.

Jelani: (11:56:49 AM): The male pressed his weight down on the cub, his hooked claws holding her in place as he leaned down, hungry jaws parting to reveal two very dangerous rows of stained fangs. Her attempts to claw him drew blood but were otherwise useless. Pain was something the male had learned to live with, and in recent days, he even delighted in it. His sight, however, was another story. His left eye had been damaged beyond use and stood as a haunting, empty orb behind a skull mask. The other slowly faded to black as the goddess' power fell over him. He jerked upwards and tossed his head from side to side, "What is this!? What have you done!?"
Laini: (12:00:13 PM): Her eyes suddenly flooded with colour and sight, Laini yelped loudly at the rows of teeth that happened to be the first things she saw, though thankfully they soon moved backwards as Jelani jerked upwards, giving the youngster a chance to wriggle out from underneath him, whining as she did. Ow, his claws had hurt, he'd drawn blood! Jicho was furiously flapping around Jelani's face, trying to get the male to back off as Laini pivoted around on the spot, confused and frightened by being able to suddenly see. That was what it was, right? Not a hallucination, actual...sight. Glancing around, the horrifying appearance of the male she'd been talking to prompted a yelp, Laini turning and running, as fast as she could to get as far away as she could. She didn't like this, she didn't like him! Sobbing as she ran, Jicho soon caught up and the pair fled.
Jelani: (12:09:41 PM): Jelani snaped and swiped at the air, swearing at the little rodent as it flapped at his face, filling his ears with wind. When it flapped off, the lion was left standing still, glaring at the darkness ahead of him. "...this isn't over whelp..." He slowly lifted his paw and licked the shed blood free from his claws. He had her scent... a small victory. Now to figure out how to get by without sight..
