Soo at your school are there people that hate complete sections in the marching band? Kids in my school despise piccolo players and people who play trumpet sweatdrop

I dont mean to dog on you, but thats just immature. In our bamd, there was a HUGE contreversey involving a couple of girls making a "Woodwinds vs brass vs percussion " video. Its just stupid. No offense, I'm sure you had the best intentions.

Anyway, I don't think any of us are like that...but occasionally I despise are third trumpets because they seem like they hardly try at all. >_>

Lol in my band our drum major has a hatred on the entire low brass section He's always yelling at us the most and thinks his saxaphones are like perfect it's really annoying since the low brass doesn't even do anything wrong also the drum major tends to like the woodwinds more also -.- it's really stupid since were supposed to be one whole band not just sections

The band director doesn't really care either since he adores the low brass because he was a low brass himself. "it's really stupid since were supposed to be one whole band not just sections" - I must admit, I am VERY suprised to hear a brass type person saying that. It's usually the brass students calling woodwinds unimportant around here.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance...
What do you have against third trumpets?
<_<
... In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace, what did they produce? The cuckoo clock.

I play brass, woodwind and percussion and was part of the band guard i think if everyone was to learn an instrument from each they would be more respectful towards other sections.

I really don't hate any of the instuments Most people do not like the flutes, clarinets, and oboe players because they are usually load and annoying >_<
I would have to say that our low brass section gets on my nerves though. They are never in tune and they bring the woodwinds down becaust they rarely pratice. Our BD Doesn't like that a lot, but thank god their a few stronger players to cover up the ones who suck.
Besides that, I really don't have a hated instrument. I kind of want to learn how to play all of them ^^

I absolutely hate hate HATE the piccolo.
And I played it for marching season.
But....
In a section of what ended up to be 12 flutes, seven were piccolos, and only three of us could actually play our music (and should have been the only ones playing piccolo from the beginning). The flutes all ended up freshmen, and the other piccolos were the sophs and upper classmen that think piccolo is way cooler than flute and that they totally deserve to play it and that playing the flute means you're like...below some unset standard or something.
I hate the piccolo. crying
But not people who play it well. :3 Or when it's played well. Just on the marching field when there's more than two or three! xD
Usually all the sections end up frustrated at each other at different intervals in time, but mostly just at the people who screw around on the field.

Luckily we don't have any horrid sections. Last year, most of our sax section didn't care, which bothered me. Now, pretty much everyone is doing really well. I think I just highly dislike the people who either don't care, don't try, or don't want to be here. I don't see why they're in band and holding us back if they dislike it so much.

Instead of hating a specific instrument, can I choose the drill staff? More specifically my trumpet tech from last year? Our one guy crazy, and our trumpet guy is a major dbag.
