What do you see in the future?
On my side I think that IF Rare gets into it there is a lot of potential...
A very rainbow 6 style of gameplay would suit the single player...(cover, chosing gear, etc)
Run and gun would not be a good descision I believe... It suits the horror style FPS mostly, but not much else anymore (metro is a good exemple...it fits...but I see perfect dark more as tactical. Bioshock also fits as less tactical because of the general idea...)
Maybe some good old fashion bare handed brawling Condemned style would fits for a stage or 2...
I simply hope they do not make the mistake of going third person...it could easily turn into a Velvet revolver (was supposed to be the 360 metal gear if you did not play)

I can see it becoming a mix between Zero and the original (both the N64 version & the XBLA one). I can see the mix being something like every weapon has a melee attack and a few with more than a secondary firing mode (those were called Tertiary Modes, right?), being only able to carry a few weapons instead of pretty much all of them regardless of their size, but the multiplayer will more resemble PD rather than PDZ.
I can easily see new weapons and stellar graphics (for its time) and a still kind of confusing story. (the remains of dataDyne & the skedar join up to fight the Carrington Institute maybe?) If I have anything to do with it, I'd make sure that Joanna remains an only child, Johnathan more resembles how he looked in Zero than in PD, and that Jo & Jon finally get together. (why am I such a sucker for things like that?)

I think that Rare should just leave Microsoft, go back to Nintendo, and make all the future Perfect Dark games on their consoles. Perfect Dark with Metroid Prime controls on the 3DS FTW.

The multiplayer for the remake is pretty hard to find a match. And when you do, it's just people who like to hole themselves up and leaving a sentry near the entrance. D:
