Sunday evening was a busy time for the mall. Lo kept her large, gaudy purse close to her chest as she walked along and pondered out loud. "...thats a pretty dress! But my God, I hate that store. Oooh, their having a sale or...What the hell?" She didn't have time to catch herself before Bailey turned around, it's braid whipping like a flying snake as it floated curiously. "S-sorry dear. Nanna saw something...scary." Her eyes drifted to the 'tramp' in the store next door and shooed Bailey away.
"What kinda scary?" Of course, Bailey had to look. It perched on Lo's shoulder like a bird and bobbed it's head to get a peep.
The elderly woman pressed on. "Stop gawking! If your gonna spy, do it right." She spotted a Build-a-Bear and guided the toddler inside. Signs were posted for a Spring time sale with special Bunny and Lamb plushies, marked to half price. That she liked.
Bailey looked around. "It's so pwetty!" It's light voice gasped. The room was either pink or brightly colored; both of which appealed to the fae. "Can I live here?"

Inside the store was a small group of people. One family in particular seemed to have clustered up and was looking in awe at the items present, attempting to pick out just the right flat animal to stuff.
The group consisted of two women - barely out of their teens by the looks of them - with odd skintones (one was blue, the other was indigo with stars all over her) and brightly colored hair and eyes - keeping tabs on three little children. Two boys on the floor, their eyes wide in curiosity, looked vaguely similar to each other with their long furry ears and their troll tails, though their skin was in completely different shades. The third boy rode on the blue skinned female's shoulders - he was pinkish-purple with blonde hair and large pink and gold butterfly wings. Cute, to be sure, but a bit odd.
One of the twins might be easy for Lo and Bailey to recognize - he'd met them before at the Aquarium show. Glancing up, Riya waved and point, "BAIIIIIIIIIILEY!" he cooed, waving frantically and causing his siblings and mothers to look.

Lo had barely taken notice of the others in the store as she picked through the animal shells, but the same could not be said about Bailey. It peered around Lo's legs at the bright group.
Of course, a moment before the toddler looked up Riya was drawing attention to it. The fae's cheeks darkened an it nervously ducked back behind Lo. She turned around and smiled, sitting the fox back on the shelf. "C'mon Bailey, don't you want to say hi?"
Bailey gulped and flew up to where he copied Aiden, balancing on Lo's shoulders without putting too much weight on her. "Hello. Are you getting an plushie too?" While it recognized the lighter troll, the others made it nervous.

Riya nodded and bounced on his incredible little shoes. "Yes yes! We's all getting plushies! These's my brothers!" he then pointed to the darker troll, "Tha's Roshan, he's my twin!" and then to the fairy, "Tha's Aiden, he's neeeeew and little. But he's a farry like you!"
In his excitement, the tot slurred his words, but giggled just the same. Aiden looked curiously at the other fairy, tugging on his boa a bit before waving. Roshan waved a bit too, about as sure on the whole "shy" thing as his brother was.

Bailey blinked and looked at Roshan. "A t-twin? Wassat?" They looked similar, even if one was darker than the other. The fae leaned up against Lo's head to get comfy, causing the elderly woman to grunt. It jumped skiddishly and fluttered to the ground.
On instinct, the fae's head ducked, but not before it caught sight of Aiden. It nervously waved back to both him and Roshan. Finally, it spoke the question that had been bugging him and looked up at Aiden; "What kind of fairy are you?"

"Dunno! S'a special brother!" Riya said with wide eyes.
Aiden cocked his head to the side at the question. What kind? Adjusting the boa around his neck again and playing a bit with his necklace, the baby didn't seem to really be much for answers, so Roshan helped Bailey out. "He's a sugary kind. Mama Wamii says that's what his sparkles smell like to her."

Bailey's mouth made a little 'o'. Riya looked like the special one, but maybe Roshan was hiding his coolness.
Still, the toddler was watching Aiden. It's wings flipped up curiously. What was that thing- that furry thing around his shoulders? It looked like a snake. The mental imagine made it cringe, sneaking closer to Roshan as he spoke. "Wow-ee. Dats pwetty neat. But wha....what kinda fairy are you guys?"

The twins giggled in unison, flicking their tails together.
"We's not fairies, silly." Riya told him.
"Yeah, we's just cute and haves tails." Roshan added, "And we look like Miss Jae."
The starry skinned woman who was generally considered to be their mother (the blue skinned one tended to only be found with Aiden) laughed. "Miss Jae didn't say what they are either. But they have her tail and ears!"

The fae nodded in understanding. "You are cute and you do look like Miss Jae." So that settled that.
Bailey quirked it's head up to the starry skinned lady and was easily confused again. "So, she's their momma?"
Lo gave a sharp bark of a laugh. "Bailey! Jaella's too young to be a mommy. Now get over here and pick out an animal. I found two you might like." She held up a little otter on one hand and a rabbit on the other. "The rabbits cheaper."
The fae reached for it. "Dis one den." Otters were it's favorite animal, but what little Bailey knew of money, it knew they didn't have much to waste.

"Maybe, dunno." Orii replied with a smile before glancing over. "oooh, how cute!" she said, poking the bunny and the otter.
Aiden reached out to tug on one of the bunny's ears, seeing what it felt like. Fuzzy like his boa, but long and with a face!
Riya smiled, "Do you like bunnies, Bailey?" he asked, before Roshan walked over to poke the otter.
"This one's neat." he told Lo with a smile, flicking his tail. "Do you know Miss Jae, Miss Lady?"

Lo stuck her hands into the empty plushies and made them move with a laugh. She made the bunny give Aiden a little kiss on the cheek before coming back to basfully cover it's face with a paw.
Bailey nodded. "I like otters better, but bunnies are cute. What do you like, Riya?"
Lo shook her head. "No, unfortunately, I don't. I've never met her or the twins, but Bailey's told me stories."

Aiden giggled a bit and wrinkled his nose, rubbing it a bit where the kiss had tickled. Silly long eared creature!
"Why not get an otter then?" Riya asked, reaching out to pet it's head. "It's a cute otter."
Roshan's eyes widened. "Twins? Like us?" he asked looking amazed. Why did Bailey not know about twins if there were others?

Bailey dug around in a little pouch attached to it's hips and opened it for Riya's inspection. "I know," the fae pouted, trying to count the amount of gold inside. "Do I have enough?" The rabbit was less expensive, but honestly, Bailey had no idea how to count so it wasn't sure if it could afford the otter or not.
Lo nodded. "Identical twins, I think."
Bailey ears perked up and for the first time ever, it argued. "Not twins. Bro'der and sis-tur. De'r twins, they said so and they look different. Dos two are the same."
The elderly woman sighed. "Sweetheart, there are two different kinds of twins. Some look alike, and some don't. Twin just means two people born at the same time from the same parents."
"Oh," Bailey nodded. So thats what....wait, what?

"You gotta be the same gender to be identical twins." came the friendly voice of Nolan after a bit. She'd been on and off paying attention to the whole conversation, and hadn't even realized the topic of twins had been broached before (or maybe she had an forgot. Nolan was considered the odd sister). But now she had something to say. "Identical twins come from the same egg and look like the same person. Fraternal twins come from other eggs and are born at the same time."
Riya shook his head, turning and pulling a pouch out of his big poofy sleeve. "Mommy gave me coinses. Heeeeeere." he said, handing some gold to Bailey. "Otters!"
Roshan blinked at this all and flicked his tail before looking up at Lo again. "Can you make them dance again?"

"That may be true, but if they look alike, I call them identical." She nodded. Lo was hard to change on her views and when she had something in mind, no matter how wrong it was, she couldn't be persuaded otherwise. "Have you met them, though? I think I should tell them at some point that Bailey lives with me now."
Bailey's eyes glowed. It gasped, bouncing up a little before giving it's friend the biggest hug imaginable. Really, it was a wonder the coins didn't spill out of the pouch! "Thanks, thanks, thanks Riya! Your the bestest best fwiend eva."
Lo pursed her lips and made the rabbit do a walk down to Roshan's level, all sweet and swishy like a woman walking down stairs. "Depends. Are you going to show Miss. Bunny how you dance?"
