It was spring, definately spring. The air was warmer, the sun threw down distinctly warmer rays, and the earth was coming alive again, flowers bursting forth, and branches becoming adorned with green once more. It was a beautiful, and stirring time of year..in a romantic way of course! The little mare stood at the top of a hill, breathing in the fresh air, the soft breeze tugging at mane and tail as she stood still for that moment.
Parfait let forth a giggle, and kicking off with her hooves, plunged headlong down the hill, mane and tail now streaming behind her like multi coloured pennants. As the ground evened out again, she really kicked into gear, running as fast as her small legs could go, enjoying the pure pleasure in being alive.
After a while she slowed, cantering now, taking in the scenery once again. She spied a large patch of daisies and veered towards them, rolling onto the ground in them, and looking up at the sky.
'What a wonderful day..' she murmured. Of course, in her heart she would have liked to be laying here with her Prince, that one special stallion she knew was out there, but it was still a day to be appreciated nonetheless. So she stayed there, her ears occasionally flicking as a nodding daisy head tickled them.

It hadn't been too long since he was "forced" out of his basket, but he was already beginning to like this outside world more and more. Unlike the world in the basket, this world seemed brighter and happier somehow - every new sight, sound and smell was a delight to the usdia colt... Although he had been keeping close to his parents in case he needed their help, Zuriel had been making wonderful discoveries since his first day out.
For example, he learned from personal experience that it was a fact that ripe berries are as sweet as they smell and unripe berries are those without the same fragrance. In fact, they almost smell as sour as they taste.
He made a face at the thought, remembering how he had spit the berries out as soon as he bit into them. Trotting through the fields, he could see his watchful dad, gathering food in a basket to bring back home; today was their day out while mum was at home with Darius... But he soon realized that it was a great opportunity to explore since the fields were located a distance away from his home. After obtaining dad's permission, the colt started galloping off as quickly as his little legs could carry him, towards a field of flowers he had spotted earlier.

Parfait felt an itch along her back, and she squirmed, shaking pollen from the daisy heads around her face as she did so. Her muzzle wrinkled, and she sneezed, moving into an upright laying position as she did so, shaking her head and sneezing a few more times, before rubbing her nose against her leg.
'Well that was fun..' she said to herself, sneaking a look around to see if anyone had caught her sneezing fit. Her nose wrinkled and she sneezed once more before looking again. She couldn't quite see properly, but she was sure she caught movement in the far distance.
The mare stood, shedding daisy petals, and squinted..yes, there was something, but it was smaller than she was and she watched, waiting for it to get slower.

"Yay!" The colt cheered as he neared the flowers, eyes shining with excitement. He giggled with glee as he leaped, enjoying the wind in his mane and tail before landing right in the field of flowers. Then, he giggled again as some tickled his body - it was enjoyable, being surrounded by so many nice smelling flowers on such a beautiful day! He froze, however, when his eyes spotted another usdia, an older female, not far away from where he was standing... And she was looking at him?
He contemplated running back to dad, but he might end his fun by taking him back home... The thought of it made the colt frown as he took another quick glance at the stranger; she was purple, like him, but of a different shade. Taking a few steps towards her, Zuriel paused, as if wondering if he should go any further or turn back. Turning to look at his dad before looking at the stranger again, he seemed to have made up his mind as he made more steps towards her, this time looking much more confident and sure of himself.
She looks harmless, after all!

'Hello!' Parfait almost cooed, and virtually melted when she realised exactly what had come near her and the patch of flowers she'd been rolling in. An Usdia foal! A little boy to be exact, with the daintiest hooves, and cutest features she'd ever seen..oh how she was a sucker for foals! Especially Usdia ones.
'Don't be afraid, I'm just here enjoying the flowers.' she said, going quietly over to him, a beaming smile on her face. His stubby tail, and tufty mane made her heart twang along with all his other baby features, and her baby clock started ticking on overdrive once more.
'What's your name sweetie?' she asked, swishing her tail.

He nodded hesitantly at the mare, feeling both curious and cautious about the stranger; she seemed friendly... Well, a little too friendly. He paused at the thought, stopping about a meter away from her. He bowed his head in greeting, "Hello... Um..." He blinked, turning to look at the flowers surrounding them; perhaps this mare really love flowers? He smiled, relaxing a little, "The flower are pretty!"
He took in a deep breath, enjoying the fragrant scent; the only bad things about flowers must be its pollen and the bees that hang around it! Turning his attention back to the purple mare, he smiled again, not wishing to appear rude, "I'm Zuriel! What about you?"

'Oh yes, aren't they just?' Parfait said, her face still wreathed in smiles as she looked at the dainty colt. She wondered how her own foals would look; would they be as precious? She fancied they would be, once she found her Prince, oh yes, they would have such adorable foals that even the hardest of hearts would melt! But oh, she was getting carried away with her thoughts and she turned her attention back to the little one.
'Zuriel, how nice to meet you!' she enthused. 'My name is Parfait. Are you out on your own?'

Zuriel blinked, wondering why the mare was smiling so much - doesn't it hurt her face? However, look at her smile, the colt couldn't bring himself to distrust her; it was as if something in him just knew that she really meant him no harm. He giggled and shook his head at the question, turning around to where he was sure his dad was. Then, he jumped up and down as he tried to peek above the field of flowers; upon seeing part of his dad, specifically his mane, the colt turned back to Parfait contentedly.
"Nope! There's my dad!" He nodded proudly as he panted, tired from jumping about, "He brought me out... I live in the forest so its my first time seeing so much grass!"

Parfait looked in the direction that the little hopping colt was indicating and smiled.
'Oh you have a handsome Father, so I bet you'll be a handsome young stallion when you grow. Instead of just cute as a button.' she enthused, smiling still.
'The forest huh?' she echoed. 'Is it nice in the forest? I don't think I could live anywhere there wasn't a carpet of grass dotted with pretty flowers.' she let out a happy sigh.
'So is it just you and your dad? Do you have siblings?'

"I will?" The usdia colt seems pleased by the news, and smiled back. He then nodded, "I was born and grew up in the forest! Its a nice place, but a little scary at night..." He shivered at the thought, frowning slightly before regaining his smile, "However, its pretty in the day! There are flowers in the forest too, although there are not as many as there are here. Some grow by the trees, some on the trees..."
At the next question, he shook his head, eager to introduce his family; it always made him happy to talk about them, "There's mum too! And I have a brother named Darius!" He then paused, tilting his head to a side as he blinked, "Do you have any siblings?"
