I discovered a while ago that my Repo! DVD disappeared from my house. I'm almost certain who stole it, but neither he, nor anybody else is fessing up to it, and they are all convinced I lost it somewhere. I'm absolutely certain it was NOT lost.
Fast forward to this weekend when my friend and I were supposed to have a Repo! shadowcast in my house this weekend, and we couldn't. It made me sad. Then angry. Now I want revenge.
I'm going to claim all DVD's that everyone is iffy about the ownership of. Then I'm going to hock the ones I don't want (*ahem* Sweeney Todd) and use it to buy another copy of Repo!. But not before I call up my nurse friend and ask him to hook me up with a couple of scalpels. Just in case I ever find out for sure who took my Repo! stuff. scream

If it was me? I'd go through the house from top to bottom and look everywhere a DVD might possibly be. I'd check behind things, under things, on top of things... even if I was absolutely certain that I wouldn't find it, I'd still look. And then I'd check with the people who might possibly own those other DVDs before hocking them. Y'know, in case they might want something that might possibly be their possession.

Screw that! If someone stole my crap, I'd sell furniture and children of the person and/or people responsible for stealing my Repo DVD!

Shilo Infected Wallace Did you check to see if Repo Men! stole it? Tell the lame repo men that you paid for your dvd in full and expect a refund plus an upgrade with the bonus of them admitting they stole the idea from The Genetic Opera!

I just think that maybe there might be more important things than a DVD, no matter how kickass the movie is. Like making sure your housemates/friends don't hate you for selling their stuff- think about how you feel now that one of your DVDs is missing. And if you still can't find it, I'd probably put a little more pressure on the guy you think took it. Perhaps tell him your plan? If he thinks his stuff's gonna go missing, he might 'fess up.

I agree with Scaramouche. Maybe ask him what his most prized possessions are and mention a idea to start selling stuff on Amazon in the same conversation.

Somebody else who appreciates Patti Lupone! I'm also pretty partial to the Angela Lansbury and George Hearne recording. But the Tim Burton musical....as a theatre person, it makes me hurt. I like the ideas I'm seeing here. I might have to check out what of his I can sneak down to the pawn shop and buy myself a new copy of Repo!

I don't hate Tim Burton's version with a passion, but a lot things irked me (the cutting of so many songs, Tim Burton's removal of the dark comedy, Helena Bonham Carter being cast when her voice is so weak, et cetera). Angela Lansbury and Patti Lupone are damned near legendary for their performances, and HBC is supposed to compare?
Maybe I'm soured because when I saw the movie I had to sit in front of two girls who were only there to ogle Johnny Depp and didn't bother paying attention to the story.
