I have this matter about my volleyball playing..

You see, me and my friend plays and trains with two teams: Under 15 and Under 17. We are both 14 years old, so we really belong on U15, but it's not a very good team(many new), that's why we play with U17 so we still can train at a decent level...
The problem is when it comes to tournaments.

My friend is far more serious about volleyball than I am, so she has this deal with our trainers, that when it's small one-day tournaments, she plays with U15, and when it's all weekend, she plays with U17. I sometimes get to play with U17 too, because none of us will really get anything out of it if we were playing with U15, but that's usually only if U15 can't make a team, or isn't competing.

But today it's the final tournament for the qualifications for the championship, it only lasts a day. U15 don't stand a chance, but U17 only has to win one match, and they will win everything. Now, my friend is playing with U17, and then they will be 12 on the team, so there isn't really any space for me.

I have chosen not to come today, because I:
1: Wouldn't get much out of it
2: Though I'm so happy because U17 is winning everything, I don't think I'll feel very good being there at the same time, on a different team..

Usually, my friend and I also have fights with our trainers about who is playing were, and it makes me feel very uncomfortable when I'm playing volley.

At the same time I'm feeling very guilty, because I'm not there to support U15 today...

Right now I don't have a single clue about what to do, so I thought it would be nice to hear others opinions about this.

I think that if U17 wins their match, then you should congratulate your friend wholeheartedly. If it makes you uncomfortable to be there, then I guess it might have been better to skip it, especially if it affects your level of performance. If U15 is your team and you're good at volleyball, I still think you should have been there to support them, but don't feel overly guilty about it. If you chose not to go there because you wouldn't feel good being on another team, then it defeats the purpose if you're at home feeling just as awful, maybe more so.

Those are my opinions. If they help, then that's wonderful, but if they set you at unease in any way, please turn a deaf ear to them and dismiss all of it as nonsense. I really hope you feel better soon, Ezoya. *Hugs*

Congrats on them winning!

As far as your dilema goes, I always feel that it's better to do something than to do nothing. Case in point: since you felt bad in all cases, whether you went or not, you should always choose to go. And, at the very least, if you did go, who knows what could've happened! Good stuff can always happen in the end, but you have to get out there and go for it, okay? *hugs*

As for the u15 team not being as good, there's an easy solution to that: train! You already know how to play, how to do things. you and your friend are probably the best person for them to learn a thing or two. And you could always have the u15 team play the u17 team for practice and stuff. Sure, you have the coaches, but I always found it better for the senior people to train and teach the junior people. But that's just my opinion.

But whatever you do, whatever you decide, don't feel bad about it. You should go into everything with a positive attitude and good times in mind. It'll make everything that happens that much better.
