Sassolite should have been out doing something productive, like stealing star seeds or anything that could be seen as productive. Instead she was sitting on a bench in the park. She had been out already looking for guys to flirt with and then casually kill but today was a slow night and she had got bored so time out on the park bench seemed like a good idea.
She looked up at the sky and sighed, the clouds were covering the stars which could mean it would rain. She really didn't want it to rain tonight. Working in the rain was horrible when your hair got all wet and straggly and your clothes started sticking to you. It just wasn't nice. Letting out another sigh she got up, she really should head back in to town and get to work. She could see people here that she could steal star seeds from. The park seemed to be the number one hot spot for homeless smelly old men. She wanted something challenging though. She also had some senshi she wanted revenge on. She had her fair number of bruises now and she wasn't happy with a single one of them.
She walked along the path in the park turning her nose up as one old man started snoring.
"Disgusting." She mumbled and shook her head. How could anyone live with being so disgusting? Just ewww.

Sassolite had been too distracted by the transients around the park. Someone was walking the path too, a moving shadow accented in red and gold and ticking softly in the silence between snores and footfalls. How long had he been following her? Or had she just been loud enough to attract his attention? Black boots clomped their way out of the darkness under the trees and into the half-light of a cloud-covered moon. Not another senshi, luckily for Sassolite. Just Captain Hematite. They'd been introduced before once, vaguely. The captains had met everyone at least once, even if it was for no more time than an exchange of names and some brief eye contact. Serandite was in charge of her now, but new assignments didn't stop the dreadlocked captain from having his own fun with the various lieutenants. Female ones, at least.
The captain came to a sudden stop when she spotted him. His grin was bright in the darkness, like a cheshire cat already most of the way invisible. He really did blend into the shadows at night when he didn't want to be seen. "Lieutenant Sassolite. Working hard, or hardly working?"

Sassolite was surprised to see someone and cursed herself somewhat for not noticing anyone was there before she nearly walked in to him. How stupid of her.
"Working hard obviously." Of course she had no leg to stand on with that, did she look like she was working hard? Not really. Captain Hematite. She recalled the name but couldn't really remember much else about him, she probably wasn't paying attention. When did she?
"I was looking for traces of any cats." She shouldn't really look for the cats alone but it was something they were suppose to be doing so the lie should hold. At least she hoped so.

"Just messing with you, Lieutenant!" Hematite was laughing, shoved his hands into the pockets of his jacket where some woefully small number of starseeds jingled and clinked together. He was still walking though, slowly, circling her like a shark or a vulture. "I really couldn't care what you've been doing. Looking for a trail of pawprints, huh? I've been checking under rocks and bushes for our elusive cavalier menace, myself. No luck either. Who'd have guessed."
Sassolite had been extremely lucky. There wasn't a high tolerance overall for shirking responsibility, but she seemed to have crossed paths with the one sympathizer. Or at least, he seemed that way. Sassolite would possibly have been familiar with Hematite's past history through gossip, as one of the most stubborn and lazy lieutenants in the whole militia. But who knew if the promotion changed things. He seemed a lot less uptight than most of the captains. The dreadlocked captain had by this time reached a hand back out of one pocket to wave toward their snoring and leafy scenery. "But, y'know, who'd want to be working on a night like this, anyway?"
"Though - if you were interested, I've got some... experience." This was a vague enough statement. Also kind of suggestive. Hematite's black eyes glinted in the moonlight as he spoke. "With the cats. You'd be surprised. That is, unless you're the type to, ah, work alone. Up to you, Lieutenant Sassolite."
So he wasn't that subtle. But he was tall, dark, and... well, best two out of three? It was pretty dark out anyway.

Sassolite just smiled as Hematite said he was messing though she was slightly weary still, he was a captain after all. She had of course heard things about him. She was one for gossip after all, she loved to know anything and everything she could.
"Do we get a choice whether we want to work on a night like this?" She was still slightly weary, he seemed genuine enough but there was still a small bell ringing in her head warning her to be careful.
"You want to help look for kitties? Sure..." Yes she was aware the question was a little suggestive but it made it more interesting. After all what harm could come from it? That and she could do with some fun for a night.

"Unfortunately not," he said with a slight groan to his voice, looking up at the scattered light that streamed through the treetops. Briefly, he sounded almost... bitter? "But it builds character, doesn't it."
"Yes, let's find some kitties. I've got a score to settle with a couple of them anyway." Like Astraea, who had shot him point-blank in the face with some kind of cat energy beam. To say she was unforgiven was a gross understatement. If he had a chance to kill that miserable little creature, she'd show up on Charonite's desk in more pieces than a jigsaw puzzle. One could dream, couldn't they? The captain turned on his heel somewhat and started walking down the path at a leisurely pace. He cast a glance at the sleeping grounds, himself far too lazy to busy himself with plucking starseeds tonight. "C'mon. Let's find someplace a little quieter."
"So, did Captain Serandite tell you anything useful?" he asked, with about the same interested invested as if he were asking about the weather or the time, "Or is she keeping to age-old the Negaverse tradition of sending lieutenants out without a word of warning?"

Sass just nodded, not completely sure how to act around a captain but at the same time starting to feel a little more relaxed around him. Whether it was a good idea to relax or not, well she had no idea. She was known for doing stupid things sometimes.
"Score to settle? What they do scratch you?" Yes she was still a little naive on the whole cat thing. The idea of cats with energy beams, well it seemed a little crazy, not that her life was normal or anything anyway. Though as he suggested she followed him to somewhere 'quieter' where ever that was.
"Useful? She may have, I was in shock that she has been my room mate this whole time. Nealite told me about cats a while ago though, something about them being dangerous and more so then the Senshi. She then mentioned getting rid of the cats will help rid us of Senshi... other then that I can't recall anything right now." She probably gave him a bit more detail then he was looking for but she was still a little confused as to how to act around him.
