The Pack(t) of Insanity

Curio Name: Amira, Sora, Virgil
Curio: Beech coloured wooden statue of three animals, a Snow Leopard, who looks smugly amused, a Tanuki who has a mischievous look on their face curled between the Leopard’s front paws, and a Wolf Cub sitting off to one side sulking with the leopards tail curled around it. On the bottom of the statue is the inscription ‘Hyou-dono, Tanuki-chan and Wolfie-kun, Forever Friends in Insanity’ (Amira is the Snow Leopard, Sora is the Tanuki, Virgil is the Wolf Cub.)
Guardian: N/A. (They have no guardian, instead they live on the streets stealing what they need and finding places to rest every night)

Item Stage: Yes.
Starting Stage: Kid

Gender: Female, Female, Male; respectively.
Hair: (Amira) Shoulder length, straight and white. (Sora) Just below her shoulder blades brown and wild. (Virgil) Dark stormy grey, short and messed up.
Eyes: (Amira) A light cold grey. (Sora) Warm brown. (Virgil) Bright green.
Skin: (Amira) Seems to shine slightly, like moonlight (Sora) Black racoon mask around her eyes. (Virgil) He has freckles all over his face.

Special Traits: Amira has cat fangs that just peak out from her mouth and snow leopard ears (in place of human ones) and tail. She is the tallest of the three at the moment. Sora has tanuki ears (in place of human ones) and tail and Japanese feautures. Virgil has grey wolf ears and tail and a tattoo that starts at his left clavicle and slops down to the bottom of his sternum which is the kanji for leopard then the kanji for tanuki and finally the kanji for wolf. His the shortest of the three at the moment. All three have a lithe, acrobatic build

Clothing Style: Amira wears a magenta Sari that has delicate silver floral edging. She goes barefoot and wears a string of silver bells around each ankle that tinkle as she walks. Sora wears a dark red Kimono with a floral pattern and for shoes wears wooden Geta. Virgil wears no shirt, no shoes, plain grey tracksuit pants and an adult sized brown leather jacket which is so big on him that it reaches his knees and he has to constantly pull the sleeves up. He also wears a necklace made out of twine with a dark wood rectangle threaded on it and two lighter wood orbs, one on each side of the rectangle.

Personality: Out of the three children Amira is the oldest mentally. She is always planning ahead for what they need to do to keep them ahead of everyone else, the only truly important thing in life to her is her siblings. Because of this she is by nature reserved towards outsiders and extremely manipulative, rarely caring for who gets caught in the crossfire of her plans. Despite this though she can still be friendly an spontaneous like her sister, she just hides it better - only showing it to her siblings or when she has determined it is safe to let loose. Of course, she is but a child at the moment so sometimes her emotions do get the better of her natural restraint. Also, despite being unable to ever admit this even under the pain of death she has a weak point for young street children who had no choice about their lifestyle, unlike her and her siblings. Sora despite not in fact being the youngest is the most childish of the three siblings mentally. She lives in the moment and is always flitting from one thing to next with no thought of the future and hardly ever of the past. She loves to sow chaos and unlike her two siblings doesn’t even pretend to be sane for the sake of not scaring off people. Besides in her mind all that attention is a good thing – she revels in it! (Unless it’s from the police – their mightily inconvenient in her mind.) Its unknown whether Sora will ever grow out of this or if she’ll always be as cheerfully chaotic as she is at the moment. Virgil is the sanest of the lot of them, the apple to the girl’s fairy floss dipped in caramel. In fact he seems to be almost drastically different from his two sisters. Shy and bookish his not the first person you would think would be hanging around with them but looks can be deceiving. If in a playful mood he can be just as troublesome as them, though afterwards he will make sure to clean up the messes they’ve made so that other people aren’t put out. His kind heart wouldn’t let him do any less and is also the reason why he puts up with his sisters despite their constant picking on of him. Along with this he is also the one to think of the near future, unlike Amira who thinks of the far, and will make sure they have a safe place to sleep every night, eat all their meals and keep their clothes in good nick. Between all of them though are some shared traits such as their loose sense of morality (towards things like stealing). Though they all do have lines they won’t cross – though Amira’s can be blurry when her family is involved.

Potential Powers/Skills: (Amira) Her power is being super fast and silent. She has light fingers and is the best of the trio at stealing. She silences all sound she makes at will. (Sora) She is the ultimate distraction, being loud is her forte. She can blend in to be a part of the scenery, so you feel as if she has always been there and don’t notice her at all. It’s useful, but the opposite of what she likes most of the time. (Virgil) He makes himself insubstantial (Useful for avoiding pouncing siblings). Their powers work on each other, but not other people, this is helped by the fact that they have a shared empathy with each other. All their powers take a second of thought to activate so if they are taken by complete and utter surprise they may not activate in time or only have half-activated. They also have a hard time keeping them activated if they are too fatigued.

Easter Fools Event Prompt Reply
Normally Amira, Virgil and Sora were the last people you’d expect to find in a park, but at the mention of free chocolate Sora had used all her powers of persuasion, her very loud, energetic persuasion, to get her family to the park in Durem. On their arrival they observed a horde of small toddlers and children running around picking up Chocolate eggs, some being followed by their parents to make sure they didn’t get eaten by a snail or something.
“Team Pi, assemble!” Sora yelled, striking a pose, Amira joined her and Virgil looked on in resigned annoyance. “The road will be long and hard but we must not give in, remember that when all else fails cheat! Because it’s no fun being legal! Now scatter!” With that she ran away and vanished into the crowd, Amira ran in the other direction, Virgil stood still for a minute before Amira flashed past him and knocked him into movement.

Sora sped through the park, radar open; she soon spotted her objective, the wonderful shiny paper that concealed behind its joy inducing sparkly-ness the ever tantalising prize of chocolate. A small child toddled up to the egg, and Sora slid around them, grabbed the egg and ran away again, cackling gleefully. She came to a stop and swung herself up into a sprawling elm tree to open her prize. She slowly peeled back the shiny green paper, oh scratch that she tore it into tiny little pieces and threw them up into the air over her head, glorying in the makeshift confetti. She watched the shiny pieces float to the ground, confetti, like a party… Or parade…
“Elephant!” She said happily to herself, and then returned her focus to the deliciously scintillating chocolaty goodness in her hand. Sora sank her teeth into the egg. She encountered a hard plastic shell underneath the chocolate, intrigued Sora nibbled away the rest of the chocolate and considered this new development. Why would someone take away from the chocolaty goodness by adding plastic? Plastic usually isn’t considered an ideal flavour compound. She stared at the small plastic thing in her hand for a few moments, then began tossing it about, she turned this tossing quickly into a juggling routine, including a few squirrels from a neighbouring bough. Upon returning the squirrels to their homes with only a few minor scratches Sora gripped the egg in her hands and slid the halves apart. What she experienced after that was strange even for her, it was like someone had attached a small battery to the base of her neck and switched it on; electric jolts were running up and down her spine like a rampaging army of flamingos. Falling from the branch she failed to notice the small cylindrical light bulb that fell with her. Upon her landing Sora did something she had never EVER done in her life before; she sat straight up underneath the tree, with perfect posture it should be noted, closed her mouth and stared straight ahead, doing absolutely nothing at all. Her mind was like a lake on a calm summer’s day when all anyone can be bothered to do is blink every now and then. She sat like this, completely stoic, for a few minutes and then suddenly she sprang up and ran in circles shrieking hysterically and hugging the small children.

Virgil walked calmly through the park, flicking his tail from side to side. When all was said and done chocolate was one of the things he cared least about in the world, still, it kept Sora busy and almost quiet. He spied a small golden wrapped egg at his feet and swiped it up. He sat down on a nearby bench to open the egg. He slowly peeled of the shiny golden paper and folded it into a neat square and placed it in his pocket. Virgil, still slowly and carefully, nibbled away at the chocolate surrounding the purple capsule inside, and then slid it open. A spurt of tingling raced across his spine, making his hair stand on end, and his ears to twitch. Virgil, overcome by a compulsion he neither understood nor welcomed, leapt to his feet and climbed in top of the seat back of the bench. He flipped over and stood on his hands and found himself speaking in a loud ringing voice.
“Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments, love is not love which alters when it alteration finds.” He flipped back over to stand on the ground, and began climbing up the nearest street light while saying the next lines. “Or bends with the remover to remove. O no, it is an ever-fixed mark that looks on tempest and is never shaken;” He got to the top of the street light and stood on top of it, looking out over the park. “It is the star to ever wand’ring bark, whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken.” Using his power Virgil slid slowly back down through the pole to the ground again. He began to pirouette across the park yelling at the top of his lungs now. “Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle’s compass come, Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out even to the edge of doom:” Virgil stopped dead mid-spin and looked around him in shock, every person within a hundred metre radius was staring at him with open mouths, except one little girl who was preoccupied with her attempt to fly be leaping off the top of a fountain and her father who was busy attempting to stop her. Virgil stood frozen for a few moments before putting his legs into gear and leaving the shell-shocked group of people behind. On his way he saw a flash of purple out of the corner of his eye and scooped it up reflexively as he passed. At the other end of the park Virgil sat down underneath a leafy green tree and, upon doing so, finally registered the fact that he was holding something else in his hand; it was the metal tab of the kind found on a soft drink can. Virgil wondered briefly why anyone would put this inside an egg but let it go and turned his attention to the egg now in his hand. He unwrapped the egg as carefully as he had the previous one, he cleaned off the chocolate and pulled open the egg, once again the sparks shot down his spine and Virgil jumped to his feet and ran over to the nearest patch of grass. He began tearing at it, every now and then uttering a low “Moo!” and plodding around aimlessly. Again this strange compulsion faded and Virgil found himself crouching on all fours with a whole crowd of stranger staring at him. And again; he ran away from them, leaving behind the miniature plastic duck that had fallen out of the egg. He ended up sitting behind a garbage bin near yet another fountain. Spontaneous outbreaks, especially of poetry weren’t like him at all; they were definitely Sora’s area. So why was he suddenly spouting Shakespeare like no tomorrow? He didn’t even remember ever hearing that sonnet before. As Virgil thought this, he unconsciously stood up and started to pace.

Amira walked silently through the crowd of children and guardians, slipping noiselessly through the world as she almost always did. Chocolate being, after potatoes, the food of the gods Amira was almost happy to spend a day toddling around a park looking for it, a flash of silver caught her attention and the egg that it emanated from was in her hand a millisecond later. Amira peeled of the wrapper carefully, considered it for a moment, and tore it up into little pieces and threw it at a small rabbit sitting on the path nearby. She crumbled the chocolate into her hand and ate it before clicking open the small orange capsule she found underneath it. A shiver ran through Amira that made the hair on the back of her neck stand up, the small silver figurine of a ballet dancer en Pointe fell to the ground as Amira began a lively dance.
“Why are there so many songs about rainbows?” She sang as she threw flowers that seemingly appeared out of nowhere onto the people standing nearby. “Because the power of love is infinite!” She continued, prancing between trees and staring people. “And what is loved will always return to where it is loved the most!” Her song continued in kind and Amira managed to dance her way across almost the whole park before her senses caught up with her and she stopped dead in the middle of handing a yellow rose to a small girl. She stood as still as a statue for at least five minutes, furiously processing events and probabilities. Breaking out into song was one of the things that were top on her list of things to never do, and yet she had just previously done so, and had magnified it by handing out flowers to small children.

Her pondering was interrupted by Sora cannoning into her, shouting loudly about button holes and their relation to Einstein’s theory of Relativity. Virgil walked by a few seconds later, cracking open another egg, they watched as he went stiff and stood perfectly still. Sora, of course, had to tackle him when he did this, just for kicks. She let him stand up and began ruffling his already messy hair as if her life depended on it.
“No stop it! Stop it!” Virgil yelled, and pushed Sora away, she stared in shock at this completely out of character behaviour for the always quiet Virgil, as he glared right back at her. “Just don’t do that! Why must you do that?! What is wrong with you anyway? Always have to be the centre of attention don’t you? You never think about anyone else!” He yelled, Sora looked shocked and confused and for once didn’t say anything, she and Amira watched Virgil yell himself into silence and said nothing after he quieted.
“I wanted to leave earlier than this, I heard it mentioned that a bakery down on Tailor’s Way is giving out free samples of chocolate chip cookies and you know how Lilly is about cookies” A woman said to her friend as they passed by, Sora’s head whipped around and a smile grew on her face, previous confusion forgotten instantly as it usually was with her.
“You know what amigos, I think we’ve spent enough time here, don’t you agree? A trip to the bakery is just what we need!” She declared, nodding enthusiastically as she did so.
“I have been longing to try one of those bun things with the spinach in one end and the cream in the other.” Said Amira, Virgil sighed.
“As long as there are no more Easter eggs, or poetry.” He said, Sora clapped happily and bounced up and down.
“No Easter Eggs guarantied 100%! Team Pi, depart!” Sora yelled, grabbing the hands of the other two and dragging them in her excited wake towards the assured happiness of cookies.
