I have seen some very awful wrecks..but that one Pearson and Glotzbach at Bristol was just downright scary..especially since it was in some old USAR pro stock cars...a series that lost saw safety during the Clinton years... Did anyone else see the Legends race? If not I recorded it and I may consider putting it on youtube or veoh

I saw the wreck. It was brutal, and I was holding my breath for Larry. Sad to hear he's injured but at least he's alive. Those old guys were running faster laps than the Nationwide guys at one point!!!

Yes, but it's at BRISTOL! You'd have a valid point if it was at Daytona, Atlanta, or one of the other big tracks. I'd imagine they aren't going that much faster there then they did 10, 20, or even 30 years ago.

Lol true...but how many 70 year old guys do you know that can take a punch like they could when they were 20-30? Charlie says it was his only time being sore after being in a wreck..and I have seen some of the wrecks that he was in the past...

Ok lol lil kiddies ..I am going to show you power of reading...I went through my nascar books to find when 72 year old Charles Lee Glotzbach last raced at Bristol. Which would be 1974 at the Volunteer 500 where he finished 4th in a 72 Ford...AVG Speed was 75.430 mph... pole speed was by Petty at 107.351 mph and Charlie followed up close behind in 2nd.... sweatdrop ( I had to go through 2 books to get all this info..now to use the lightning fast internet biggrin ) The legends race at Bristol saw race winner Rick Wilson hit the 120mph in a Hooters Usar Pro cup car...(I have to admit I was shocked to see that much of a difference at a short track but hey we evolve no matter what track it is...Especially since the track has had the same configuration since 69 and only repaved 4 times since then with the biggest change coming only 2 years ago.) It looks like a few people beat me to upload the race on youtube so here is a link to the wreck... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGsrdQfLSz8
