Jelani:
(2:47:45 PM): The heat of the day had set in, and with no cloud cover for nearly a week, the land was scorched. Even the most hungry of predators would retire from their hunt in favor of a shady shrub or a muddy patch of earth to lay on. He was no different.

The lion, descended from the Barbary lions that had once roamed in great, powerful numbers just a few generations back, stood out like a large, dusty stone among the soft, green blades of grass surrounding his form. He'd driven a young cheetah out from under the small tree and occupied the cool, shady space with his bulk. Aside from his general size, the lion boasted a muscular frame dwarfed only by the crimson-coated lions of the desert. His entire left side, now exposed above the grassy bed he'd made for himself, had been heavily scared by claws, fangs, and various other hurts from the past. The scars were large and thick enough that fur no longer grew over much of them. The only portion of his scarred form that he cared to hide was the mutilated left side of his face, now masked under half a skull.

He yawned, flashing his yellow-stained teeth as he rolled his large tongue out and stretched his large paws out in front of him.

Dili:
(3:07:51 PM): It'd been too long, she'd decided a while back.

Too long, and it was about time to let go and start over again. There were problems with such a decision however, and as she pondered the cons and pros of it, audibility padded the land, her wings spread in such a way that they shielded her easily against the sun's irritating rays.

Unlike many gods, the pink goddess seemed perfectly at peace with her otherworldly form and not only padded with grace, but also elegance, as if not caring, or minding whom saw her. After all, her powers worked rather differently from other gods'; she lacked the power to create illusions. Instead, her very presence dispelled them. It did not suit her domain to cloak herself in a lie, and thus she displayed her wings rather proudly. Always. No matter where she went.

Her head lifted to look at the sun, and she frowned; she'd always rather liked the snow over this terribly hot, sweaty climate. Alas, very few souls inhabited the snow, and thus she was sure to stumble across what she NEEDED here.

Jelani:
(3:12:01 PM): The lion lifted himself up to stretch out the knot that had been forming in his back. Halfway through laying himself down again he froze and slowly lifted a brow as a blurr of pink broke the green and gold landscape, crashing into his vision like a charging rhino.

A god? Here?

He blinked and brought a paw up to rub the sleep from his eyes. Once the blur of sleep faded he turned once more and gave the oddity another look. A large, winged form elegantly made its way through the grass, head held high, chest swollen with pride.

The corner of his lips twitched.

Rumbling in the back of his throat, he slowly stood himself up and shook his mane out, fluffing out the one side he'd flattened over the last few hours. Just his luck...the moment he took a rest, one just pops up.

Dili:
(3:19:57 PM): Unlike the male, it took her quite a long moment to finally lay her gaze on him; he blended into the background rather easily. The moment she saw him though... the moment she looked into his eyes, the goddes smirked, for she knew she'd found what she was looking for, "Well, well, that didn't take that long at all, now did it?" she told no one in particular as she changed her direction, easily (and probably rather unexpectedly) heading right towards him.

She could use this. She could most defenately work with this. She'd had worse in past lives, after all. Whatever Dili wanted.... Dili got, "Where were you?" she asked the male when she was near enough, "I've been looking for you, boy, and I couldn't find you. My paws are weary of all this walking," she was actually being quite serious, "I need your help."

Jelani:
(3:24:02 PM): Jelani stood still as a stone, his large head tipped off to one side as he watched, baffled, as the female stepped his way. His brows tightened and his one good eye narrowed as she drew closer, addressing him the way she might an old friend.

Had she completely lost her mind? His shoulders tensed as she paused within comfortable speaking distance. Turning his head to watch her, he spoke. "Looking for me? I must admit you have me at a disadvantage. I don't see why anyone would go out of their way to find me." His voice, while pleasant enough for the moment, was a deep, throaty one. It was something between a growl and a gentleman's kindly tone.

"My...help?"

Dili:
(3:30:56 PM): "Well," she paused and turned her gaze to the sky, furrowing her brow like a dive might've when asked a particularly hard question, "I wasn't looking for you, personally, or specifically. I was looking for your type, Jelani," ah, yes, she could read his mind his mind rather nicely; more than his mind... she was reading memories, emotions, the story of his life; the truth of it, everything. Looking into his eyes, she knew everything about him that she'd ever need to know, "And you'll do just fine, if you accept to help me."

She snorted slightly, but it was a lady-like nose (it was rather incredible how even such a vulgar noise could come out elegant when she did it), "Facades work not around me, I fear. I know everything thee is to know about you, just by looking at you."

Another pause followed and she looked him straight in the eyes, "I need you to kill me," it was said bluntly, without hesitation, firmly, as if this were precisely what she needed and everything depended on it, "It's been too long, and I yearn to return to beginning. I can't very well kill myself, that would be simply horrid. So I need your help to do it. Mercifully, as painlessly as possible, and upon my rebirth, I shall grant you help with something you need if you followed your end of the bargain. If you did not...." her eyes narrowed, implying he would likely not like the end result of that particular option.

Jelani:
(3:38:42 PM): The male snarled defensively and took an angry step forward. The mane along his shoulders slowly began to rise. "Stay out of my head... if you know what's good for you."

Among the hundreds of things that set him off, falling under a god's mercy was among the top. Having his mind read, having his body immobilized, a false sense of serenity, or the voices speaking to him, suggesting, hinting- it all drove him from a generally calm, calculating individual to a raging mass of claws and teeth. It had cost him in the past, though he didn't seem overly eager to change his behavior any time soon.

The snarl died almost instantly. The furious monster slipped into a confused, nearly collected individual once more. He rolled his jaw and slowly shook his head. Was he hearing her right, she wanted him to kill her?

"....you...want me to take your life." He repeated, a spoken statement rather than a question. "And in return, you do something for me? You'll be dead." He flexed his claws. "And in my experience, the only thing the dead have done for me was to provide me with a nice trinket." He reached up and tapped a claw against the side of his mask.

Dili:
(3:53:04 PM): "TSk tsk," she raised a paw, wagging a finger at him as he took an angry step forward; she did not take one back, and stood her ground with ease, "Don't get ahead of yourself boy. I'm sure we can help eachother out here. Don't let your temper get in the way. I can not help what I am, just like you can not help what you are. I can not help Knowing. I'm playing no tricks. I am the embodiment of Truth."

She watched as he calmed instantly when she spoke of her death and she smirked, "There is very little you know about us and our kind. You can not kill that what is immortal, boy... not ever. you might kill this shell of a body, but my essence will be re birthed, just like it's been re birthed countless times in the past, for what would ever be of this world without Truth?"

Another snort, this one was uttered while she raised her head high, "Do not compare me to the likes of those. Not ever," she seemed mildly offended for a moment but it vanished just as soon as it came, "You will just kill this shell. I will be back, for Gods are immortal. We are not lions, we are ideas... emotions. We can not truly die."

Jelani:
(4:03:19 PM): He rolled his eyes. Truth then. He'd been wondering just what domain would take on an obnoxiously ....glittery form that was, in his mind, an assault on the senses. Truth seemed to fit just fine.

He groaned. So the rumors were true. His now deceased pride hadn't been too far off- the gods were essentially forever-spirits. They were just...bound to living, breathing forms. It made -his- job all the harder.

"Very well.... but again we come to just how I can be certain that you are good to your word?" He took a calm, slow step forward. The tension had melted out of his posture completely. His look had gone from suspicious to thoughtful. "If you, oh-all-seeing-one can see into my mind and my past, you know very well that I am a lion of my word...and I've had my share of deception at the paws of.... your kind." He began circling her, taking a moment to look over her pelt. Ech...definitely not something he'd want to wear or boast. Not that he needed to impress anyone, but the night wind did get a little chilly against his exposed flesh from time to time.

Dili:
(4:16:34 PM): "I can not lie. I am truth. My powers affect me, as much as they do you. If I were to lie to you.... it would be an oxymoron," she told him simply, as if that made perfect, "I don't need to look into your past to know you are telling the truth. all I need if for you to talk; anything that is true... anything that you truly mean will come out in my presence," she watched him calmly as he circled her, not an ounce of fear within her features.

She was studying him as he studied her, "I am not to blame for what others have done. Deception is my brother - I am his polar opposite, and it's safe to assume I will act in a polar opposite way to those that deceived you. It is not in my nature," her eyes narrowed instantly and lips raised in an almost silent snarl, "Don't you dare even consider such a monstrosity, or I swear by all that i holy and unholy, I will curse you on the spot."

She finally rolled her eyes, "You don't like me, and I don't particularly enjoy your company much either. But I've given you valuable information and can be of further use. You will be allowed to call on me upon rebirth, and my powers will be at your disposition just once, if you do this for me."

Jelani:
(4:24:52 PM): "I'm generally an honest individual and even I know that the truth can be terribly misleading if you speak it in such a way." He smirked and flicked the tip of his tail. Twisting the truth was among his favorite hobbies. It was amazing how the mind worked. How the mind would wrap itself around a small statement and create assumptions for itself, throwing the individual into a plethora of possibilities- and lies -by their own design. He knew all too well how to manipulate truths to do just that.

He chuckled, though it was a strangely pleasant sound. "Oh don't be so defensive. You're getting a new body anyway, you wouldn't care."

He came around to stand in front of her and tipped his head once more, considering. "Very well. How about we work out a deal. I'm... looking for someone. One of your kind actually... I'm a little upset that he managed to get away, and frankly, I'd like him to nap a little longer so I can go about my business without his interference. If you can point me in his direction, then when you....if you rebirth-" He waved a paw through the air, "You can meet me there and tell me precisely where to go."

Dili:
(4:32:23 PM): "There's twisting the truth, and half truths, indeed, but I'm telling you outright, no strings attached. I will come to your call, though only once, so you better know what you want/need from me," she shook her head to take the hair out of her eyes and narrowed them, "Don't tempt me to go seek someone else out, boy. I haven't got all day. I'm growing weary. I would VERY much care to see my old shell worn by the likes of anyone."

She pondered this and tilted her head this way and that, considering before she let out a sigh, her ears flattening back, "I am ashamed to say I am only allowed access to that what is THERE. I can not see what is not here. I am not the god of the Lost, not am I the goddess of finding things. If you ask this of me, I can not asure you will ever get your information - I think it is a foolish request. I don't stumble across many gods. I'm not the goddess of directions," a pause followed, "What I do suggest, if you are So Dead Set on this, is to call for me once you FIND someone that might know this God's whereabouts. In my presence.... they will have to answer any questions you ask, against their will. Just a glance, a look will give me what I need."

She was surprised she had not been asked HOW she'd meet up with him, or how he could call for her, so she addressed that issue too, "My name is Audilifu. All you need to do to summon me, is call for me and my domain; all you need to do is to NEED it... to need me, and I will appear."

Jelani:
(4:44:51 PM): He groaned. That's right, they all had specialties. He'd half-hoped that they had some kind of network in finding eachother. There wasn't much known about the gods...or spirits. Whatever name they went by, it was all the same to him. Finding someone that knew of a god's whereabouts was going to be an absolute pain in the backside. There were countless gods. He wasn't even sure what the domain was of the one he'd nearly taken.

"Fine. Fine." He waved a paw. Surely the ability to call a goddess would come in handy. Even if it was something as simple as truth. He'd not look a gift horse in the mouth.

"I must say this is a surprise. If you...don't move a lot it should be over quickly." Though that took out a lot of the fun. Even his father had put up a decent fight, it had cost him quite a bit of flesh from his shoulder. Taking a life without a struggle seemed so... underhanded. Even for him.

Dili:
(4:49:13 PM): She arched a brow at him and then shrugged slightly before she lowered herself to a laying position on the ground, her eyes closed. It would soon be over, and this would be but a horrid, painful memory that she would burry under a mountain of new ones to come.

She had done a good job this time around and she was sure would do just as fine a job the next time around, "Do what you must," she told him, obviously ready to let go.

Jelani:
(4:54:22 PM): She wasn't even going to STAND?! He looked upwards and groaned. Maybe this was some form of....strange, twisted punishment. There was no pride in this. Killing a god was perhaps one of the most impossible feats a mortal could accomplish- but this....was just pitiful. It certainly wasn't something he could boast. Not in all its details anyway.

He stepped forward and tipped her chin back, suprisingly gentle for something as large as he. "You really take the fun out of everything. Down to your domain." He grumbled. "Maybe next time around I'll ask that you let me have a little fun. Until then. Enjoy."

He drew his lips back, eyes igniting as he lunged downwards with a single, precise bite.
