First entry. Age: 7. My journal Hello everyone who happens to read this! My name is Ledia Breeman. Mother gave me this journal yesterday saying that everyone should have a place where they can speak their mind. So, here I go. I was born in the western lands, but Mother said that they moved to a town close to the Llama lands because my father is the royal advisor to Duke Mortis Llama. I've met the Duke a few times, but I do not like him. Father likes to yell a lot, but he is always so quiet when the Duke is here. It's the only good thing that happens when the Duke visits. I have class soon, so I will come back and write later.

Age: 8. July 9th. 
Today I am told I will be meeting a prince! I am all excited! Will he be like me? Live in a castle? What will the land be like? I am told this trip will take most of the day, so I'm bringing my journal with as well as my pet Jinx. Jinx is my Beenda. A long slender creature that looks like a kitty. They are rare and live a long time. Father thinks this journal is silly, but Mother said it's good to speak your mind somehow. Father does not think a girl has a mind to use. I think I am smarter than him in the ways of love. He is a meanie. I am glad no one reads this; I would be punished if he knew I was talking about him. We are leaving soon, so I have to hide this book in my bag.
It is night time, we are camping outdoors. The carriage had some troubles on the ride, so we had to rest. I explored while Father was yelling at everyone. Father sent our fastest horse with a servant to tell the Llama's the news of our late arrival. I know what really happened though. Father made the carriage break. Then he traveled in the dark and went to the town over. I know this because I followed him. I don't know why he left the camp, but I knew he was up to no good. It was at this spooky house, and I saw men in dark robes, all gathering in a circle. I should not have followed them, I don't think they saw me... but I got scared and ran back to camp. Mother is calling me, so I best go.
Father came home late last night, he was very angry. I hope he does not know I was following him. I was curious... I also wanted to see what a real town looked like. I've never really seen much of my country. My teachers all come to me, and they rarely tell me about life outside the castle walls. The Breeman family line is a proud family, Mother tells me this often, since we are related to the royal family here in the western lands. King and Queen Ryal are really nice; I met them a few times and they share a different life view than from my family. Though I must admit my father tries to play the part… it’s just that he thinks because of our blood we are entitled to receiving respect no matter our behavior. I think we should gain respect. Mother agrees. Well we are on our travels again, so I have to hide the book again. Next time I write, we will be at the castle.
