The adahy pushed her nose through the tender sprouts. They had flowered small buds and she nibbled a few of them before moving on. Snow drifts were still hanging around in the shadowy woods and places where it had piled deep. But the adahy elder wasn't interested in snow. The spring sun always took its claim on the land again in time, and it was just about to vanish the last traces of winter. It was time for the young elder to make her way around to the boundaries of the land she kept a watchful eye over.
She had walked this path many times and her feet could tell her where to go as easily as her eyes could. The scent of Lake Ha'tooka reached her, even though its glimmering water was still out of sight. The elder monitored a patch of territory near the breeding grounds, bordering the Lake. It was a dangerous and tough duty, but she had grown up here and would rather be nowhere else. A happy snort and she could picked up her pace, strong forearms carrying her with ease over the thawing earth. Her area, being both along the breeding thicket and the Lake, grew terribly empty through the winter and she felt a swell of energy to think of all the surviving adahy and the activity that would be filling the area again as it warmed. She was ready to lead the survivors out of the dead of winter, and ready to bring new life to their tribe. But now.. her stomach would not stop rumbling at the sight of fresh plants. It wasn't quite time for finding her favorite mushrooms.
The elder had spent winter in the Overlook. There was so much one missed there. She grazed over the small leaves until her ears perked with an exciting sound. The sound of young adahy.

Shrouded in the early morning haze that clung to the forrest Sandstone moved slowly, while thee was still a chill in the air it no lunger bit at him, it was an easy cool that would be replaced with an easy warmth when the sun rose. He liked this time of year, when he could almost forget that the Ditaki were living in a worse place than the Adhay. He paused to stare at a single blade of green grass poking its way up from the brown earth. He stared at it or a moment before smiling and continuing on his way, eyes sharp, looking for a preybeast to fill his stomach. He knew he wouldn't be the only creature exploring the new fertile world that was blossoming up with the coming of the warm months.

I know I was gone for a bit, but I'm back for good! /// >: D
The elder male stretched his large paws out in front of him. Yawning, then again two or three more times. That sweet air, it was finally spring. Standing up he stretched his arms forward and and cracked his back a few times as his vine like feather tipped tails whipped around him. His eyes had to adjust to leaving his cozy dark den to the outside sun. Big vast blue sky, fluff clouds and little buggers buzzing about. Also his favorite tree was back in bloom.
"Another year down buddy.~"
He'd been around a long time too. This wasn't anything new, but the old stale air had been cleared far away and was now fragrant and fresh. Could almost make an old man giddy with excitement. He smiled and made plans to head to the lake for today.
"Water sounds fantastic."

Spring warmed the elder male's bones and feathers, and gave him hope for another prosperous year.
He left the large den he resided in and stretched, a low yawn escaping his throat. Already, so early in the morning, others buzzed around him, socializing and working to gather all the materials the clan would need for this day. Food, water, raw materials for nests. He smiled in appreciation of it all. They worked so hard to have good lives.
Quickly he joined a group of gatherers, taking up an empty harvesting sack.
"Good day for harvesting mushrooms, I've heard." A male with a rough voice bowed his head to the elder with a friendly smile.
"Really, now?" The elders voice was deep and wise with age. "I suppose we'll have to go see this grand harvest!"
And he spent a good portion of his day doing just that. It was always a good day when he spent it working for the good of his clan.

The gentle rain caused Gadrah to look up, staring straight into the heart of the clouds. The elder was at peace, letting the rain slide down his body, cleansing him. The forest would be renewed, just as he would be, when this shower was over, but for the time being, now was his moment. Gadrah sighed in pleasure before opening his mouth a little to catch some of the raindrops for a drink, almost laughing when he thought of the image he must cut standing here--stock still, eyes closed, moth open. Surely he looked ridiculous. That didn't matter to him, not now. It was far too nice of a shower for him to think about his appearance. And so he stood there, letting the rain wash him clean.
