Stoffpuppe (or rags as some called her) made her way through the desert wasteland; her paws feeling as though they were on fire from the hot sand and she stopped for a moment; panting slightly. She'd been in worse conditions than this before but it had been a while. She sighed to herself shifting her head and grabbing hold of the strap of the bag wrapped around her neck; pulling slightly to put it back over bag... helping to at least block that small amount of space from the unforgiving sun. She sighed and started up again; at least it wasn't windy; she didn't feel like pulling out any of her scraps of pelts to put it over her eyes to protect them. She looked up and sniffed the air. Well.. she could smell quite a few different animal scents so she assumed others had been this way before. She lowered her head and continued on; hoping to find a small oasis out here somewhere that she could stop and rest at. She didn't think to worry about whether or not there were any other big game cats there; no one tended to bother the lioness that looked as though she'd been pieced together.

Standing in the water of the Oasis he let the semi-cool waters drench his legs and the very tip of his mane. It had been awhile since he had last been to this place. The oasis in the wasteland, but he was sure it wouldn’t be his last, after all the wind did seem to like taking him there.
Looking up towards the sky he sighed, letting himself drop into a large slash, covering his whole body with water. This was what it was like to enjoy oneself. Beauty, it was in strange places even some that seemed dead to the world. How his journey seemed to bring him to such amazing places. All to find his mother.
“Thanks.” He whispered as he rolled, splashing the water all around him, making a mess of the still water and his mane. He didn’t care though. No one was ever around here anyway.

Ragdoll looked upwards and smiled. The gods were being gracious with her she thought to herself as she saw the small tree line; still some way in the distance. She decided not to run towards the promise of an oasis; with her luck it could always be a mirrage and then where would she be? Out of breath; out of water; and out of energy. That was most certainly nothing but a death wish. Something that (despite the physical pain Ragdoll would put herself through) she most definitely didn't want. She would wait until she got closer; and could smell the water before she would run the last few feet or yards to get there.
But Ragdoll got a better indicator than a smell; she heard a sound. She smiled to herself tensing her body up to lunge and jump the rest of the distance between her and the real tree line. She offered up a prayer of thanks to whatever god or goddess was up there or maybe even down here looking out for her as she walked through the trees and underbrush to the center of the oasis and stopped to see a rather large lion rolling in the water. She stopped; and sat; he didn't seem very dangerous so she might as well wait and see how long it took him to realize he wasn't alone... at lest she was entertained.

Continuing to freshen up Tandu decided he would sing a bit, letting his voice travel around the oasis with a carefree yet exotic tune. He would sing to his mother, even if she wasn’t there. A tribute to her and her love, along with all the friends he had met on his journey. Oh how he missed some of them so much while others he was more than happy to be without.
And then his eye looked up to see -her- standing there watching him. Flipping over quickly he felt his hair stand on end. How long had she been there watching him? Moving backward slightly he decided to greet the stranger. After all, she was there and he wasn’t about to chase her away, even if she was a bit…. Strange looking.
“Hello?”

A broad smile was on Rag's face by the time he'd noticed her standing there. And she was once again happy that she hadn't stitched the sides of her mouth becuase it would have hurt to smile like that. Even now the stitching around her cheeks pulled slightly at her skin. "Oh." She said trotting up to the waters edge; laughter clear in her eyes. "Don't stop on account of me. That was rather entertaining." She teased light heartedly. "Though I don't think it's in your best interest to join a pride as a bard." She joked laughing lightly now. She knew why he'd backed away; and it didn't really bother her; she liked to watch people reactions to her; and this was a milder reaction by far.

Cocking his head at her he couldn’t help but smirk. He didn’t find her scary in anyway, no, he didn’t get a good look at the stitching after all. He just found it rather strange to find someone else here. Standing before him with nothing else to do. Of course now he was being rude just staring at her. Moving closer her bowed. “Well thanks I guess, you kind of scared me is all. Not many creatures live this far out. Kind of my little safe haven, but now I have you. So it can be yours as well.” Smiling lightly at her he moved a bit closer, his body heavy with water. What he would give to shake it off right then, but would she like being wet. He did not know, and rather not risk having the strange upset. Ignoring the second part of her statement nodded his head, “I am Tandu. Welcome.”

She'd kind of scared him? well; she had that affect on people; it didn't really bother her; made her chuckle a bit. And her smiled softened when he offered up the oasis to her as well. "No thank you." She told him; moving away from him; not wanting to be gotten wet. Not because she didn't like water or anything; but becuase she didn't like the smell that water had once it came out of fur. She grabbed her bag with her teeth and slid it off; lowering her neck to allow it to fall off the rest of the way. She looked up at the male on the other side of the water and shrugged her shoulders. "No offense; I just don't like getting sprayed." She told him flat out before sticking her nose into her bag and pulling out another bag shaped like a flattened liver. "I honestly just needed to refresh my water supply." She told him; popping out one of her claws and ripping at the top seams to open up the bag. She smiled and took the thing up in her mouth carrying t forward and dipping herself into the water; filling up the bag as much as she needed too and turning back around to wade out of the water. "Though I appreciate the offer." She told him sincerely. "My names Stouffepuppe; but I prefer to be called rags." She smiled; her small bag hooked in her teeth.

He almost felt put off by the sudden turn down, though only allowed the feeling to stand for a few seconds. He understood what she was saying, hell; many big cats hated the feel of water on their fur. He was the odd one, enjoying the feel of the wetness dancing around his body. Watching her curiously as she pulled out her bag he moved away, but still eyed her, shaking his body off some. He didn’t want to get her wet after she had just said she rather not. Once finished however her trotted over, looking over the item she pulled from her bad. A water bag? How very smart of her. “That is an interesting bag, but be my guest. This is the only water for miles around.” “Rags eh, may I ask why they call you Rags?”

"Becuase I'm sewn together like a ragdoll." she said smiling to herself as she used one of her paws to feel around for a small box. one found she pawed it out and pused it open; pulling out an already strung up porcupine needle. She smiled as she took the bag from her mouth to her paw and used her mouth to insert the needle and her other paw to pull it out; repeating the action several times before finally pulling the needle and thread tight; and knotting it. "So Tandu; is this your home here?" She asked curiously; making sure to gently put the porcupine needle back into the box. It kept all of her sewing needles in there; and they were so hard to find. She smiled happy once more to have the thing safely put away and then she also hid her water bag in there as well. "Do you happen to have any nicknames?" She asked curiously.

He didn’t get it. How was she sewn together? Did he really want to know though; it was strange to him, but oddly intriguing. Was it rude though, was it rude to ask her? Probably. So he decided not to, if she really wanted to tell him he was pretty sure she would. Hell she was rather blunt to begin with. “No. I have no home. I roam. This is just a stop for me. One of my usual rest areas. A place I can just get away from many headaches. It is nice to have another here though. I enjoy it.” Eyeing the bag cautiously he decided to ask about it. He knew someone that needed one after all, perhaps she traded them, or even better made one. “I do not… but I do have a question.” Looking her over he decided to move forward a step. “Do you make those bags, Rags? They were both really nicely put together. I could tell even from over here.”

Ragdoll nodded her head; she had a few places like that; most of them were only places she'd heard of though... places that she'd snuck away in her mind; making a little path so that she would never be TOO far from food and water. "Too much silence can drive one mad I suppose." She replied; she'd found some lions that really had gone mad from wandering alone for too long; and when she'd come around they'd thought the tree was finally talking back to her. She smiled down at her bags and nodded her head. "I do make them; I come from a family of crafters." She said proudly; she lowered herself again and looked back into her bag; it was mainly stuffed with shreds of pelts that had dried over time in her bags to make leathers; she pulled out a few of the bigger ones and looked at them intently. Usually when others asked about her bags; they asked if she could make them one. And she honestly didn't mind; it was her passion in life after all. "Would you like me to make you one?"

“That is can, I am thankful I had found so many wonderful people roaming the lands. Had I not… well. I would more than likely have lost myself to my mind as well.” He smiled at her, his fur already starting to smell like wet cat. Oh how the smell could make one nauseous, thankfully he always dropped things off her, nicely scented bark and grass. Fish and meat, even some stones he used to make jewelry for his friends. Looking down at the bag again he nodded, yes he did indeed wish to have one. But not without first giving her payment for it. “I would enjoy having one, though what would you like in return, the water is free from the land so I cannot trade that, however I have many beautiful and rare stones… you could pick the one you liked.” He moved toward his pile of stones, along with the lemon scented grass, rolling in it a couple times to rid himself of the foul odor. “Please, come take a look.”

Ragdoll would have told him no; she really just liked to make the things and show off her works, since she was no longer with her family; working for anyone; this was the closest she could get to having her old job. But... he did have shinies. She got up from her sitting position and padded over to him; thankful that he'd rolled around in the lemon grass. She lowered herself and looked at the things he had to offer. She looked closely at the metals; unfortunately; none of them were too terribly thing enough to make a more sturdy sewing needle... but she did see a peice that would go nicely though her ear... and a peice of strung up glass that would lovely with her patches. "Would you mind trading me these two things~" She said pointing out the metal peice and the strung up glass. "In exchange for a bag?" She asked looking up at him. "What kind of bag do you want anyways?" she asked curiously. maybe a larger bag like what she carried if he had so many of these things... he must have known they weren't all that safe to keep them here; where he would most certainly leave them for anyone to find and take. And he'd already said he knew of other places like this that he stopped at during his travels.

He was nervous as she scanned the items he had to offer. He had more, in other areas, hidden in old trees or in ditches he only really knew of. But still, having a bag to hold everything always helped some. Keep the very special things with him. He already had a bag as well, but it was so small, it got full all the time. Ears perking at her interest he looked at the metal and glass. They were fairly hard to find, but he did have more in another location. As far as he was concerned it was definitely a fair trade. He would never want to take something from her without first paying. “I would be more than happy to trade them.” Smiling he moved a little closer, looking each object over before nodding. “I think that would be a fair trade.” And then the question of the bag was asked. How big a bag did he want? Something fairly light but still something to carry a bit of stuff in. Keep all his treasures and helpful herbs in. Yes. A larger bag it was. Looking at her he eyed her bag. “Something similar to yours. I wish to be able to carry herbs and other materials in it. Maybe something to go around my shoulder, or on my back so I can move fairly easily. “ Damn was he ever lucky to have met this female. Especially here in the wasteland oasis. Though, did she had enough leather to make the bag? He could always wait for her to bring it to him when it was finally done… “And… if you don’t have all the materials needed I can always wait for you to come back with them. It is not a problem at all.”

Buri went back over to her scarps of fabric and looked through them a frown forming on her face. "I have enough to make you a bag; but I'm afraid I don't have enough to make you a strap..." She said a little upset; looking through her scraps more than once. She suddenly became a little frustrated; a frown pulling at her muzzle. "I'm going to have to find you a strap..." She repeated more to herself than to him. "If you weren't so big~" she teased him. "Then this wouldn't be a problem." She sighed and sat down with a plop. "How long are you going to be staying here?" She asked trying to figure out a game plan in her head.
