There was always hard work to be done on a farm, even for the newly impressed. Rin's mother was a lot more open to the idea of her daughter becoming a dragonrider than her father, and assured her daughter that he was merely worried about Jenith around the new baby. Rin understood, but her mother assured that she could still help watch her baby brother, so long as Jenith was careful around him.
And so that day found Rin and Jenith, running errands for her mother, baby brother in tow. They were to take bags of freshly ground wheat to the bakers. Jenith had elected to the bags - although she had not been prepared for how heavy they were! - while Rin carried her brother in the baby basket that she had weaved for him.
"Are you sure you don't want me to carry a bag too?" Rin asked.
N-no, i think I can handle it. Perhaps though we can rest here for a bit?"
They were part way there, but all around them still was nothing but fields. Rin decided it wouldn't hurt to take a small break. "Sure."
Rin moved off the path a little and sat her brother down before removing the two bags of ground wheat from Jenith's back. The young dragon stretched, then lay down by the baby basket, peering in at the sleeping youngster curiously. Rin sat on the other side of the basket.

"Well, that was boring."
F'al smiled faintly and patted his lifemate on the shoulder. "I know," he said aloud, "but they think I'm an incompetent fool. I swear they'll never stop telling me how to use a shovel... Still, at least we get to go and get hold of the flour they want rather than shoveling more." It was a nice change, a pleasant walk and a chance just to be with his dragon.
"Oh look, there's Jenith and Rin!"
...Or not. Still, he supposed he ought to get to know the other new riders. Bonding or something, who knew how long he was going to be here? He might be here forever, might have to fly in a wing with these people... Blast. He was awful with children. "Well, let's go and say hello then," he said to his lifemate, "I hope this isn't too awkward." The youngest to Impress, and the oldest to Impress. Opposite ends to the spectrum where Impressing was possible. The only thing they had in common, their new lifemates... So be it. Dith was trotting over and calling a greeting already.
"Rin! Jenith! Hi! How are you doing today?" He was going to have to carry this conversation for F'al, but he was used to that by now, it was one of the reasons his lifemate needed him so much; he was just awful with people. "What's in the basket?" Dith added as he drew closer. "Something interesting?"
