Oh, how she did adore new accessories.

Taking the time to pause in front of a glass door to inspect her appearance (or in other words, to fix her hair), her attention had been caught by a store nearby, her nightly patrol forgotten. "Ooh." came the soft murmur, as she leaned in further inspecting a butterfly necklace, in the display case of Silver Rhino's- a jewelry store known for their adorable charms despite the peculiar name. (From the first time, she thought the thing was supposed to be a ******** zoo of rhinos, for god's sake.)

The price displayed was $249.99.

What a rip-off, Val scoffed, as she shook her head in digust. She took pity on the poor customers who purchased such products grossly overpriced. Not that she was one to talk of course. It wasn't as if Val had actually purchased anything of her own accord- the five-finger discount worked well enough for her.

Summoning her cross to her hand, she cast a mischievous glance at the store before her.

With her other hand, one finger tapped the glass, measuring the durability of the material. It's not like they'll notice. She assured herself with a grin, despite the fact that she knew better. Someone would have to be ******** blind not to notice a large gaping hole in the display of their store. Oh, well ♪~ Drawing her arm back, Val prepared herself for the crash, the blunt edge of the rod aimed at the display. The glass shattered on impact, leaving a huge hole in the wall of the display.

One gloved hand reached out into the display to gingerly grab the necklace, as the alarms began to ring.

Looks like it's time to go.

((OOC: Note to self, this is rping pre-captain so I can get a couple more lieutenant-Nega rp interactions in there))

Ah Destiny Blvd. It was always the same old in this ritzy part of town: the second it reached the edges of downtown, it turned into a rather subpar slum-slash-pawn shop centric area. A couple of homeless people rustled, half-asleep in the alleyway adjacent to him (there had noticeably been less since well, since all the mishaps happening not-so-recently), but other than that, a strange sort of unusual quietness swept across the street.

Punctured only by the loud shatter of glass, and the familiar sound of store alarms. His heart skipped a beat even though he, for once, had nothing to do with it, stopping just for a brief second in mid-stride. And that split second was also just enough for real culprit to shoot past him in a vague blur. All he really caught was that it was a girl wearing a freaking suit-dress out of all- wait a second. Was that a Negaverse agent?!

Well, this got curiouser and curiouser. Fleeing the scene of the crime himself (well, who wanted to be pinned and blamed-for by the police?) he gauged the lieutenant's path of flight. The main street only lead to one intersection, and he took a shortcut into a sub-alley, made an olympic record jump over a shallow brick wall, before turning face to face with the culprit.

It was only after he was staring straight on at this new face that he realized, he had acted without really an explanation why. Staring blankly at the other lieutenant for a second, Torbernite blurted the only thing he could think of as a conversation filler as he stared at her 'findings'. "What, no star seed?"

Flashing the newcomer a grin, she continued to run till they had reached a sub-alley. Not know her way around herself, she let the boy take the lead. Following his path, she swung herself over the brick wall with ease, her platforms landed with a soft thud as it hit the ground.

The sounds of police sirens could be heard in the distance; nothing that she nor the other lieutenant needed to worry about.

Head cocked with one hand on her hip, she gave the boy an amused glance. "I take it that you're one of Charonite's men." Not that it wasn't obvious- his physical abilities, uniforms and explicit words was a clear indication of who he was, or rather, what he was.

But while she had focused her attention on him, he had been thinking of entirely something else. Puzzled by his blank stare, her gaze was redirected towards the object within her hand. Ah, so that was it. Chuckling at his awkward behavior, she unclenched her fingers, allowing the small bit of jewelry to unravel within her hand.

Winking at the boy, she lowered her tone to a soft whisper.

"What Charonite doesn't know won't hurt him." She said, as she dangled the piece of silver in front of the boy.

As long as everyone kept their mouths shut, of course. "And he won't be hearing it from neither of us, right?" Her words were spoken in a whisper, as she leaned forward to lift up the other boy's chin with her finger. He could take it a threat, or he could take it as a secret.

Charonite's men?! Did he look like he was part of some sort of all-men's org- you know what, he didn't even want to go there.

Just from the way she addressed him, he could not help but boggle, some-what confident ease dropping entirely. Some people might have excused themselves as being thrown off guard, or others even a little confused. All-in-all, it made him, Ye Oldde Negaverse Lieutenant (only by recruitment standards as he had yet to do anything significantly significant) look like a lost puppy.

"Wait, so you're not-!?" He paused or a second.

Why the heck would he report something like another Negaverse Lieutenant stealing non-star-seed related stuff to Charonite out of all things? He did have better things to do than wish for early death sentences. There might have been something equally rhetorical he could have been thinking if he had not been distracted by the 'shiny' the other was holding in her hand. Okay, shop alarms, potential police on the scene of the crime, and glaringly obvious uniform notwithstanding, she had quite the taste.

Cue 'one track mind' as he feigned compliance, backing up a bit out of her reach warily, nodding. "Hey, I-I was just... curious, is all. I don't see many Negaverse Lieutenants these days without their self obligatory bring-star-seeds-for-the-darkness minds these days." He looked at her, tilting his head to one side, trying to squint and see if the dimly-lit face came with a memory. "And I don't think I've seen you in this part of town either."

“So I’m not, what?” Val countered, as she stood there with her arms crossed over her chest, highly amused by the boy's fumbling behavior. She waited patiently for the boy to finish his sentence, but to no luck. He soon moved on to a different topic, while trying to back out of her reach.

How cute~

His wary stance puzzled her, as she attempted to study the boy. Tucking a lock of hair behind her ears, her eyes rested on the boy's innocent face. Or seemingly innocent face. One never knew, especially with the Negaverse and all that. After all, Serandite, princess of the bunnies had been recruited into the force. What did that say for the Negaverse? Not much, apparently.

Evading his first question with ease, she moved on quickly to the second one. "Lieutenant Valleriite, at your service." She said with a bow, "I joined a few months ago." She laughed, as she slipped the pendant back into her pocket.

"What about you?"

Oh, she was relatively a newbie then, in Negaverse terms. If possible, he stood up just a little straighter, in all his impressive five-foot-some height, totally forgetting about her brand new necklace, which was ironic coming from him. "Oh, well, I'll forgive you then."

He said this as if somehow, this was relevant to the situation. "I've been recruited for quite a while, so I like to help out when I can, make sure people and doing their stuff 'n stuff." This part was also a lie: he usually spent most evenings pocketing new trinkets, if he wasn't sitting at home watching reruns of Dragon Orbs, with a puddle of drool hanging off one corner of his mouth.

A thought suddenly occured to him, halfway between ingenious and fail. "What do you say to uh, train you further, you go scouting for some star seed candidates for the both of us?"

Well, passing off his workload to someone else was worth a shot, though the last time he tried this, it wasn't his fault (see: Scheelite).

Forgive her? She raised her eyebrow in a skeptical look. This coming from the boy who had backed away only a few minutes before?

"Mymy, what a privilege." She chuckled lightly, "For a lowly lieutenant like myself to receive.. Officer..?" If it was anyone else, she would have probably told them to go to hell by this point.. But when she looked at this officer, she felt a hint of feminine adoration hit her. Like most girls, she simply couldn't resist anything (or in this case— anyone) she found cute!

She simply wanted to hug him, ruffling his hair like a puppy.

Instead, she resisted the urge. Feigning innocence, "But I'm a little new at this." Her emphasis on the word new quite obvious, "Why don't we go together, and you can show me?" She suggested, with a snap of her fingers. But before he had a chance to react, she had already grabbed his hand. Despite his protests, she dragged him towards the exit of the alleyway.

Acting how she thought a newbie might act, "It's so nice when you have someone to help out.." She gushed, acting overly enthused.

Wait what it worked?

He resisted the urge to stare at her blankly with a 'Are you for real' expression, which promptly turned into a 'Damn, still backfoiled' conclusion. Was she asking for him to help? Did that mean like, he had to escort her around? - from his experiences two Negaverse agents usually resulted in double the hassle.

It was then that Torbenite realised he had wedged himself between a rock and a hard place. Helping this Lieutenant meant more work for him, not helping meant he had been bluffing this entire time. With a reluctant sigh, he tried to pull the 'I'm more important than this' look. It just resulted looking like a 'do I have to?' face. "Um... I guess... but I am ah...." He scratched the back of his head, trying to find some sort of excuse. "Duties! Yes! I have important other errands to do you know. Important stuff."

God what had he gotten himself into? Face turning slightly red, he tried to dislodge himself from the other lieutenant. "Uhh... maybe some... other time then." Sadly, this sounded more like a question than a command.

She was halfway to the street, when he began to protest. Though she supposed that she should have given the poor boy a chance, the panicked expression on his face was priceless! It was obvious that he didn't know what to do, now that his plans had backfired on him. The stumble of words didn't help, serving only to prove his guilt.

Really now, you shouldn't have lied in the first place if you weren't prepared for this!

She wanted to laugh at his obvious dismay, but she firmly kept her mouth shut. She was afraid to say anything in fear that she would jump him. He was simply too cute!— A cynic to the world, a naive innocent like him was downright charming. The obvious display of emotions on his face, especially the "Do I have to?" warmed her heart over.

Disregarding the cuteness factor at hand, she had to admit- He was a horrible liar. At this point, with his stammering and flimsy excuses, anyone would have figured the act out by now. Taking pity on the other officer, "I suppose it can't be helped." She said, her grip loosened enough for Tobernite to slip his hand away. She supposed she should try her hand at the whole "dejected" thing, but eh.

That was far too much work.

"The next time than." She declared quite cheerfully, "Hopefully, there won't be any business interruptions than." With a smile, she walked off.

Cringing, he expected her to see right through him - not that he had ever not been entirely transparent. He could just barely keep his jaw from dropping as she simply, and so politely (or so it seemed in his eyes) dropped the request and walked away. Wait, did that mean he had actually pulled that off?

"Yes next time," he repeated, nodding his head most likely a little too enthusiastically. Torbenite waited a good minute, making sure she was far far away before making his exit. Note to self: don't get involved in situations like that again. Of course, if he hadn't bothered with the entire fiasco in in the first place, this all wouldn't have happened, but sadly curiousity killed the cattle. He scratched his head, that didn't sound right, was it uh, carrot maybe?
