Things had been crazy lately, where 'crazy' was a giant understatement. Between encounters with party crashing Negaverse agents, the ever present nightmares and the way everything had ended with the energy stealing aliens and their mysterious cards she was starting to loose herself.
Valentine's Day had initially served as a good reminder that, deep down, all wasn't completely lost. Somewhere amongst it all there was still a teenage girl who wanted to spread the joy of love to others. She had seen to it that all of her closest friends had received carnations from her, some secretly and others openly. But now, weeks later, she found herself waiting for the one person she hadn't tracked down when it mattered, refusing to admit that maybe he was right in thinking it would be nice to know a little more about each other.
Sighing softly she leaned back against the cool marble of one of the park's statues, a flower's stem caught between her gloved fingers. She'd give it another ten minutes before calling it a night... After all, it wasn't as if she'd invited him here. She had just swung by on the off chance that maybe he'd show up on his own patrols.

"Batgirl!" There, it seemed, was a nickname he didn't plan to give up on soon, and his grin was as dazzling as ever. "I should have brought my flashlight!" He jumped up and walked across the seat of a bench instead of simply going around it, and even made a brief and teetery effort to balance on the back on one foot, since... as usual... Sailor Eridanus was in a good mood, and when he was in a good mood... he was a bit silly. He gave the flower a glance as he gave up on his demonstration that he would -never- appear in the ballet, the Olympic gymnast team, and probably not the balance bar on the playground. "Am I interrupting anything?" He asked, curiously.

Corvus had just about pondered giving up when she heard 'Batgirl', completely amazed by how the name of one comic book character could turn her night around. She found herself grinning as she turned her head to glance at Sailor Eridanus.
"I -had- pondered bringing my own flashlight, but..." Her shoulders shrugged slightly as she eyed him from her perch, shifting over so that she could pat the wide base of the pedestal beside her. "You're not interrupting anything more than my own thoughts... Are you coming up here or should I join you down there?"

"I'll come up!" He beamed, excited by the prospect. That was one of the fun things about being Senshi. You could do a few things that you just couldn't get away with in civilian form. It was like having the city turn into a giant playground, the kind you wished existed when you were still young enough to not get funny looks for being on one. He climbed up beside her rather than put on any further silly displays as with the bench, and sat down on the cool stone. "If we actually schedule a meeting I'll bring some of my mothers pastry." He offered. "It would feel a little awkward fighting a Negaverse agent with a box of canolli's in one hand. In the name of Italian Pastry! I will deser... I mean defeat you!" He brandished one arm as though challenging an invisible foe

"Penciling in something like that might be nice." She grinned, turning her body slightly while bending one knee so that she could comfortably face him. Her gloved fingers fumbled lightly with the stem of the flower lying across her lap until eventually she forced her hand still.
"Am I going to sound silly if I say that I was hoping you would show up tonight? I mean... I'm sure I do sound silly, but..." Her brow furrowed, 'so serious' struggling with teenage nature as she held up the white carnation. "... The rest of my friends got one on Valentine's Day and, well, I didn't want to leave you out. Better late than never, right?"

Eridanus blinked, startled by the gesture, gaze briefly fixed on the white carnation again as though he'd just been hypnotized by it. For once he didn't grin, but that was because he chose to express himself another way, reaching to put an arm around her and draw her close enough to hug, trying not to crush the flower between them. Up close he smelled a little like cinnamon, lemon, and some kind of faint aftershave, and he held her like she'd just given him the moon and stars.

Her first natural reaction as Sailor Corvus was to tense, closeness like this not something that she was used to from anyone other than people that she only knew as civilians. The teen's shoulders stiffened as she took a breath only to relax at the familiar kitchen scents. Her house had always smelled like cinnamon while her grandmother was still alive...
Eventually she relaxed, leaning into his embrace. It was kind of nice, really, when she stopped thinking about all of the various implications that something like this could lead to. To hell with all of that... Rather than scowl or fuss or push away, Sailor Corvus simply smiled.
A moment later she pulled back, brow furrowing ever so slightly. "I was worried, after that night, you know. I should have tried to find a way to check in with you sooner. You're okay now, though? Better?"

"I felt like I'd pulled a couple back to back all nighters, but I got some sleep and I'm feeling a lot better." He promised. "You?" He asked. It had been probably the scariest night he'd ever had on patrol. Worse they hadn't been able to actually do anything for the tree. And there had been a death. Not a human, but a death never the less. He didn't want to admit it but he still had bad dreams about it. Still, no sense worrying people.

"Honestly?" Her brow lofted slightly as she glanced at him for a moment before letting her gaze drift out over the park. "I didn't sleep much that night." Or the rest of the weekend, for that matter. There had been dreams of the Princess that had quickly turned into nightmares about the Tree. Was it over? Was it safe to be here?
"I haven't been out... But tonight. I don't know, it seemed like a good night to hope you'd be here." A wry grin curved the corners of her mouth as her gaze shifted back over to her companion. "It's good to know I was right."

"...I don't think I would have if I hadn't been so tired." He admitted with a soft sigh. "I jog here all the time though so I figured I had to convince myself that it was safe." He explained.
"...So far I haven't been jumped by the shrubbery." It was a sort of sad joke, but it was a joke. "I mean it's still a nice park... if you forget the whole angry tree thing."

"Maybe it's over then... Just back to the usual patrols? No plants, or cards, just... Negaverse." She rolled her eyes before sighing as she let her arm lean lightly against the Senshi of Ink. Nothing more than business, as usual...
Then again, there could be more. She had thought of it, even if it went on making things more complicated. "I had a dream that night. Before I even met up with you in the park. It..." She took a deep breath, releasing it with a huff. Cordelia Carden did not get stuck on words, neither should Sailor Corvus. "The dream was stupid, but it made me think. A lot. About stupid things... Namely this idiot notion that maybe it might be a good idea if the two of us got to know each other better, since we're working with each other and all."

"Well, lets see. I like Pina Coladas, taking walks in the rain..." He started, joking as usual, then stopped, looking a little more serious. "No I think you've got a point. What would you like to know?"
They were all on the same side but most of them were strangers to each other, knowing each other only as Senshi.

"I was thinking..." Again she was fussing with her hands. She probably would have been picking at her nails if it hadn't been for the elbow length gloves that were a part of her henshined outfit. "... That it might be nice to know your name. So that the next time some school is doing something silly, like letting people send out flowers, I would know who to send one to."
Was she... Blushing? In the pale moonlight shining down on Destiny City Park it certainly seemed so, but she would deny it in a heartbeat if anyone asked.
"It would've been horrible to have lost you to the tree without knowing that."

They were at close range, but he jutted out a hand to her, as though they were meeting for the first time. His eyes were brilliant with humor. "Erik Odysseus Corlione." He offered. "Call me Oddy. Everyone does."
And apparently just to prove he noticed. "You're adorable when you blush."

Sailor Corvus eyed him, eyed his outstretched hand and had just about placed her own gloved hand in it when she heard his comment on her blushing. In a flash she lost all girlishness, swatting at his hand with one of her own before lightly jabbing his side with her elbow. "I am not! I wasn't blushing..."
She was too. Her face actually got just a tad more rosy as it was pointed out.
"Cordelia Carden, also known as Sailor Corvus. It seems the cosmos has a thing for alliteration."
