He had noticed the graveyard..cemetery...resting place of the dead, whatever one wanted to call it. He had noticed it. Quinn had noted the sense of quiet that came over the area and decided that he'd very much like to wander around and just soak it in and enjoy being by himself. That was another bonus for the Shark-boy. There was barely anyone in it especially toward the evening hours and that was all the allure it needed. He had announced he was going out. No, he did not want company and yes he would be home before a certain time and yes he had dinner before he decided to flee the home.

Now that he was here Quinn wandered the place with his hands tucked into the pockets of his hoodie as he meandered from tombstone to tombstone. He just simply soaked up the quiet of the area as he paused next to a rather large angelic figure that gazed down at him with a mournful expression.

Was death really such a bad thing? It was the natural order of things whether the end was natural or unnatural it came to everyone. It was an equalizer and a source for peace. Not that Quinn had any plans to kill or be killed. Hell no. He fought tooth and nail to be here...again. Anyone wanting to take him to an end would find a rather toothy fight on their hands.

Yes, it was silent...but no, it wasn't silent for long.

A sudden cry filled the air somewhere behind Quinn; it sounded like an inwards shriek, like someone was both trying to get air and to scream in displeasure at the same time. The ground was shifting as the newly reanimated corpse dug it's way through, grabbing the ankle of a figure nearby, who had been quietly filling in a recently used grave. The figure had it's hood up on top of wearing a brimmed hat, effectively shadowing most if it's face; while it was fairly gender-neutral (it was hard to tell without the eyes or figure!), it was more than likely a boy. A poor boy that had just gotten the biggest scare of his life!

Anon spun around, using the brunt of the shovel to smack the newly revived head with a loud clunk. He was too young to put enough force to cause real damage, but it was enough for the figure to shriek and let him go. Keeping a hold of the shovel, he ran...though he skidded to a halt when he saw the other figure looking up at a statue. He waved his hand wildly to get the other boy's attention, making frantic motions to try and convince him to follow, occasionally pointing to the building nearby.

He had to tell the guys that there was a zombie loose, but damnit he couldn't let anyone be alone with it! It was probably hungry!

The cry sent a chill up Quinn's spine as he turned around to meet it only to see a bit of violence take place. Up until a few moments ago he had simply ignored the figure as part of the scenery if he had seen it or just refused to acknowledge that anyone was there at all in favor of the illusion of privacy and quiet which was now shattered. He quickly turned and stubbornly stared up at the statue wanting to ignore that it all happened for just a few more moments he just wanted to be alone but then he should have known better.

Damn it all now this person acknowledged him and was waving and pointing and he couldn't ignore it he shoved his hands into his pocket and began to skulk toward the building, "Touch me and I chew your arm off," he warned as he moved forward. There was no reason to touch him since he complied. As he spoke his sharp teeth showed making sure that his threat would be backed up.

He didn't want to be touched; he didn't like to be touched. He didn't like the idea of facing up with whatever the figure with the shovel just bonked either thus he was going along with it.

Though his eyes were completely hidden from view by a dark shadow, Anon rolled them. What a boy! There was danger and there he was, taking his time and threatening someone that was just trying to help! Giving a silent sigh, the gender neutral figure nodded to show that he understood the threat, but urged the Shark Boy to follow him anyway. There was still something very urgent in his motions, though.

Anon let the Shark Boy into the building first, looking over his shoulder then wandering in after, closing and locking the door. The hooded kid then made a motion that suggested the other should stay put, then disappeared around the corner. There was silence for a moment, then there seemed to be a conversation going on...but it was only one side of the conversation. One gruff, deep voice of a heavilly accented adult.

"Ah, Anon, Whas' wrong?" Pause. "Zombie?" Pause. "Yeh...hit it wif'a shovel?" The voice laughed, then paused. "Alright den, I'll getit. Which lot?" Pause...a bit of a longer pause...then a big man stalked out of the room, everything about him dirty, his clothes, his face, his beard. What's more, he was holding a shotgun.

He unlocked the door and stepped out, the distinct noise of a loading shotgun echoing into the room...then he disappeared into the darkness. Anon appeared a moment or two later, holding a pad of paper and a pen, scribbling something on it before showing his guest.

'Sorry.
Didn't want you bitten.
I'm Anon.'

He stood out of the way as everything went down, away from the door and just basically to himself his hands shoved far into his pocket. The danger he perceived he was in just within the last few moments was just one of those things that was too late to react to and even if it was they didn't seem to understand that...He warned them not just for their sake but his own as well. He didn't really want to bite anyone especially the one that lead him here they smelt ... wrong. He couldn't quite put his finger on it because he never smelt anything like it but it was definitely not something he wanted in his mouth threat or not threat.

Quinn watched the person leave that had the one sided conversation and then watched as his ... savior came into the room with a notepad and paper and stood just close enough to read what was written but no closer as he read. Him? Bitten? Maybe and he probably would have bitten back in self defense and would have just made matters worse so maybe he ought to be thankful? He uttered a small sound in the back of his throat a gruff thanks and he stared at the name that was offered on the paper before he murmured his name in return, "Quint."

Quint. That was kind of an odd name, wasn't it? Then again, it was fairly blunt and to the point, especially the way the boy said it. So...odd, but fitting. Very fitting. Anon waved his hand in greeting, nibbling lightly on his bottom lip in thought. Well...while they waited for the man to return with good news...what should they do? They couldn't very well just stand there. Well, they could...but that would probably get boring pretty quickly. With a pondering tilt of his head, Anon turned his body away, motioning for Quint to follow.

If the Shark boy complied he would be led to a comfortable break room. Due to the intensity of the surrounding area, this was meant to be a place of fun. The walls were a cheerful colour and furnished with rather cozy looking couches and chairs. A big TV lined a wall, various game consoles and even a DVD player hooked up to it. There were books, magazines, a computer, a shelf for DVDs and games...it looked like a play room, rather than a break room for a Funeral Home and Cemetery! Anon spread his arms as if giving Quint run of the room, offering to let him do whatever he wanted in here.

As if leading by example, Anon headed to one of the couches, turning to sit neatly in the corner as though he were trying to take up as little space as possible.

If the Shark boy didn't comply? Well, he'd be left alone in the boring old hallway!

Quint just stood in silence and watched his current companion with a bit of a neutral expression and shifted his weight from one foot to the other was the only show that the shark-boy made to show that he was getting a little restless if not bored. When the other ... person moved to another room he of course followed instead of just standing there. Certainly Quint was an abrasive and solitary figure but he also didn't feel like just standing around all night especially after getting involved in a moment where he needed to flee from the undead with someone that admittedly smelt a bit past their shelf-life themselves.

He gazed around the room as Anon gestured for him to pretty much do whatever he wanted to do or so it seemed. Even if it wasn't Quint began to gaze about and poke around until he picked out a random two player game. He didn't really feel like playing against himself and having Anon of the Dead sit next to him and watch like some sort of creeper and amazingly he didn't feel like being alone either. Perhaps, the shark-boy had to grudgingly admit, he was possibly a bit shaken. "You know how to play this, Anon?"

The lad waited for his silent companion to note the game title and either nod or shake their head. Quinn had gotten the impression that Anon couldn't speak if at all at least not easily. Crazy.

Anon got up from the couch when Quint called to him, wandering over to take the game case from him. A brief glance over the title...and Anon tilted his head. 'Left 4 Dead 2'? He'd never really played the games before, he preferred to stay outside or in his crypt, but this game...seemed to be about killing Zombies? He shook his head to finally answer Quint's question, turning the case over to read the back. Well...there were zombies running around outside, why not defeat zombies in a virtual world, too?

Moving around his companion, Anon opened the case and put the game into the console, turning on the TV and handing over a remote. Once he was sure everything was in order, he moved back with his own controller and sat down on the floor, randomly pressing the buttons to get used to it as much as he could for now.

He assumed that Quint didn't know how to play, but when the game screen came to new and offered a tutorial, his hooded head turned to 'look' at him.

Quint stood there and watched Anon as he set up the game. He took up his controller and settled nearby Anon showing that he certainly was not put off by his new companion's scent additionally that he wasn't scared of him. He gazed at the screen offering the tutorial and then glanced over at Anon thoughtfully before he nodded. He was not too proud to accept help though it seemed as though he might be for a brief moment.

"Yeah might be a good idea. We don't really have these sorta games back home," Quint explained with a shrug. He never made demands for such things and if Kay did...he had no clue.

He scratched at his jaw a bit as he waited for the game tutorial to start, "So you roam 'bout here smackin' things around with a shovel or what?"

The hooded head nodded then turned back to face the TV, a gloved thumb pressing on the controller buttons to get them to the tutorial. There was a waiting screen of course, and Quint's question made his gaze refocus once more; not that anyone could have seen from the shadows of the hood and hat. Roam about smacking things with a shovel? He didn't know, he thought the game characters used gu---

OH.

Thats right, the guys were gone out zombie hunting shortly after one tried to crawl from the ground! Setting the controller down, Anon fished out his notepad and pen.

'Sometimes.
Usu. fill/digging graves.
Do use shovel tho.

Y r' u here?
'

The last part was quickly written, as the tutorial was just starting to spring to life. Oh well, hopefully Quint would understand.

He waited patiently for the game to start and for Anon to scribble out a response. Geeze this was kind of irritating if only he could talk with Anon normally or using hand gestures or something. Quint knew no sign language so there was no hope of that and really learning it might be a bit of a waste since who knew if he'd meet this person again? He certainly didn't know!

Quint leaned a bit to read what was written, it took him a couple of readings to comprehend the last bit before he could respond, "I wanted some quiet, seems I got less quiet and more action, heh." He fell silent as the tutorial started and he went through the motions of learning how to do things in the game. Guns made things go boom...Got it.

(( 1: Both Died || 2: Quint Died || 3: Anon Died || 4: Level beat easily ))

Anon only paid half attention to the tutorial, and soon enough it was over. Poor Quint wanted quiet? Well...he got a zombie attack and a video game instead. Without really thinking, he expressed his apologies through sign language; his gloved hand formed a loose fist, his thumb resting against the side of his index finger, and he rotated his hand a inch or two from his own chest in a clockwise motion. He really didn't mean to disrupt the night!

The game started, and for a while they focused on it. The first four rounds had been...pretty easy. They got by with little trouble, and by the fifth round, Anon was feeling pretty good about how this was going! That was, of course, until he was attacked by a Hunter. He always had mixed feelings about these zombies, and in the end his character died because of it. Quint managed to make it to the next level to get his character revived, but shortly after that both of them were rushed and killed, making them start that level over.

Again, Anon died when he got seperated from Quint and the others, then Quint's character took it's first dive in the chapter after that. Both of them died once more, and by the time Quint's character died a second time, Anon hit pause and put the controller down for a moment. Whoa, intense game!

He scribbled on the notepad next to him, nudging it towards Quint without even attempting to touch the other boy.

'Leave on even ground? Or continue?'

It seemed like a good place to stop and besides; his coworkers were coming back in for showers, that meant the real life zombie raid was over.

'Can go back outside now.'

If he wanted to, anyway.

He glanced over at Anon as the gesture was made and blinked a bit before he returned back to staring at the screen and going through the tutorial and once the game started, he focused more so on that, the gesture forgotten for the meantime. Quint didn't mind either way. He was kind of, gasp, having fun with the silent figure next to him even though he smelt bad but at least he wasn't gag-tastic at least not to the shark boy. He let out sounds of victory and cursed bitterly whenever a loss happened. Restarting the level was a double edged sword in many cases but at least he never turned and cursed at Anon for inept play or blamed the boy for anything.

People were starting to wander in after he glanced down at the notepad and then back up at the clock and he frowned a bit and set the controller down, "I should probably head home," he murmured grudgingly with a small sigh.

Sure it wasn't the quiet he sought but he enjoyed it. It was a nice change from his spastic household.

"They might worry and stuff I guess...Umm...Nice meeting you," Quint offered awkwardly as he moved to stand.

Anon found Quint's almost brash behaviour amusing, especially since it wasn't directed at him. He hadn't really met anyone like Quint before, certainly not his own age anyway, and that was pretty interesting. The Sharkboy was quiet, but very stern - Anon imagined he could get pretty scary if he wanted to. But it was fun, he'd had a lot of fun, and once it was decided that they would stop playing, he saved their game, got to his feet and went to turn off the controller. While he had a nice long streak of hardly ever meeting the same person twice, it was always nice to imagine...and at least this way there was always a game for them to continue with.

He smiled at his strange-eyed companion, lifting his hands, his left hand palm up and brushing his right hand over top of it, away from his body. Then, closing his hands into loose fists with his index fingers raised, he did a second gesture, the back of his left hand facing Quint and the back of his right facing himself, the hands coming to meet as best as they could. Considering he signed it right after Quint said it was nice to meet him, he hoped the message would get across - he was, after all, expressing the same feelings, just with his hands.

Then, moving past Quint, he slid his gloved hands into his hoody pockets and led him back outside, to the spot they had met before the Zombie tried to get them. Hopefully he could find his way home now.

Quint certainly didn't discourage the save and just let Anon do as he needed as he helped to straighten things out quietly but for the most part he was hands off. The sharboy stared at the set of gestures intently for a long moment and then after a long moment he attempted to at least mimic it but it was clumsy and it felt wrong somehow at the end. Quint uttered a small grunt and shrugged.

The sharkboy followed quietly and once at his original location he paused for a moment as he shifted from one foot to the other. He wasn't used to the idea of being loathe to leave someone it was a somewhat foreign idea for him. For whatever reason he trusted the silent boy in a few short hours and even played game with him, Quint raised a hand and waved, "I'll see you around."

After that he turned and wandered toward home.
